[25] καὶ ἐγένετο τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν Ιαζηρ, πᾶσαι αἱ πόλεις Γαλααδ καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ γῆς υἱῶν Αμμων ἕως Αροηρ, ἥ ἐστιν κατὰ πρόσωπον Ραββα,
[25] And their borders were Jazer, all the cities of Galaad, and half the land of the children of Ammon to Araba, which is before Arad.
[26] καὶ ἀπὸ Εσεβων ἕως Ραμωθ κατὰ τὴν Μασσηφα καὶ Βοτανιν καὶ Μααναιν ἕως τῶν ὁρίων Δαβιρ
[26] And from Esebon to Araboth by Massepha, and Botanim, and Maan to the borders of Daebon,
[27] καὶ ἐν Εμεκ Βαιθαραμ καὶ Βαιθαναβρα καὶ Σοκχωθα καὶ Σαφαν καὶ τὴν λοιπὴν βασιλείαν Σηων βασιλέως Εσεβων, καὶ ὁ Ιορδάνης ὁριεῖ ἕως μέρους τῆς θαλάσσης Χενερεθ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἀπ’ ἀνατολῶν.
[27] and Enadom, and Othargai, and Baenthanabra, and Soccotha, and Saphan, and the rest of the kingdom of Sean king of Esebon: and Jordan shall be the boundary as far as part of the sea of Chenereth beyond Jordan eastward.
[28] αὕτη ἡ κληρονομία υἱῶν Γαδ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν, αἱ πόλεις αὐτῶν καὶ αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτῶν.
[28] This is the inheritance of the children of Gad according to their families and according to their cities: according to their families they will turn their backs before their enemies, because their cities and their villages were according to their families.
[29] Καὶ ἔδωκεν Μωϋσῆς τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς Μανασση κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν.
[29] And Moses gave to half the tribe of Manasse according to their families.
[30] καὶ ἐγένετο τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἀπὸ Μααναιμ καὶ πᾶσα βασιλεία Βασανι καὶ πᾶσα βασιλεία Ωγ βασιλέως Βασαν καὶ πάσας τὰς κώμας Ιαιρ, αἵ εἰσιν ἐν τῇ Βασανίτιδι, ἑξήκοντα πόλεις,
[30] And their borders were from Maan, and all the kingdom of Basan, and all the kingdom of Og king of Basan, and all the villages of Jair, which are in the region of Basan, sixty cities:
[31] καὶ τὸ ἥμισυ τῆς Γαλααδ καὶ ἐν Ασταρωθ καὶ ἐν Εδραιν, πόλεις βασιλείας Ωγ ἐν Βασανίτιδι, καὶ ἐδόθησαν τοῖς υἱοῖς Μαχιρ υἱοῦ Μανασση καὶ τοῖς ἡμίσεσιν υἱοῖς Μαχιρ υἱοῦ Μανασση κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν.
[31] and the half of Galaad, and in Astaroth, and in Edrain, royal cities of Og in the land of Basan, Moses gave to the sons of Machir the sons of Manasse, even to the half-tribe sons of Machir the sons of Manasse, according to their families.
[32] Οὗτοι οὓς κατεκληρονόμησεν Μωϋσῆς πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου ἐν Αραβωθ Μωαβ ἐν τῷ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου κατὰ Ιεριχω ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν.
[32] These are they whom Moses caused to inherit beyond Jordan in Araboth Moab, beyond Jordan by Jericho eastward.
CHAPTER 14
[1] Καὶ οὗτοι οἱ κατακληρονομήσαντες υἱῶν Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ γῇ Χανααν, οἷς κατεκληρονόμησεν αὐτοῖς Ελεαζαρ ὁ ἱερεὺς καὶ Ἰησοῦς ὁ τοῦ Ναυη καὶ οἱ ἄρχοντες πατριῶν φυλῶν τῶν υἱῶν Ισραηλ.
[1] And these are they of the children of Israel that received their inheritance in the land of Chanaan, to whom Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the sonof Naue, and the heads of the families of the tribes of the children of Israel, gave inheritance.
[2] κατὰ κλήρους ἐκληρονόμησαν, ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατο κύριος ἐν χειρὶ Ἰησοῦ ταῖς ἐννέα φυλαῖς καὶ τῷ ἡμίσει φυλῆς,
[2] They inherited according to their lots, as the Lord commanded by the hand of Joshua to the nine tribes and the half tribe, on the other side of Jordan.
[3] ἀπὸ τοῦ πέραν τοῦ Ιορδάνου, καὶ τοῖς Λευίταις οὐκ ἔδωκεν κλῆρον ἐν αὐτοῖς·
[3] But to the Levites he gave no inheritance among them.
[4] ὅτι ἦσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ιωσηφ δύο φυλαί, Μανασση καὶ Εφραιμ, καὶ οὐκ ἐδόθη μερὶς ἐν τῇ γῇ τοῖς Λευίταις, ἀλλ’ ἢ πόλεις κατοικεῖν καὶ τὰ ἀφωρισμένα αὐτῶν τοῖς κτήνεσιν καὶ τὰ κτήνη αὐτῶν.
[4] For the sons of Joseph were two tribes, Manasse and Ephraim; and there was none inheritance in the land given to the Levites, only cities to dwell in, and their suburbs separated for the cattle, and their cattle.
[5] ὃν τρόπον ἐνετείλατο κύριος τῷ Μωυσῇ, οὕτως ἐποίησαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἐμέρισαν τὴν γῆν.
[5] As the Lord commanded Moses, so did the children of Israel; and they divided the land.
[6] Καὶ προσήλθοσαν οἱ υἱοὶ Ιουδα πρὸς Ἰησοῦν ἐν Γαλγαλ, καὶ εἶπεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Χαλεβ ὁ τοῦ Ιεφοννη ὁ Κενεζαῖος Σὺ ἐπίστῃ τὸ ῥῆμα, ὃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυσῆν ἄνθρωπον τοῦ θεοῦ περὶ ἐμοῦ καὶ σοῦ ἐν Καδης Βαρνη·
[6] And the children of Juda came to Joshua in Galgal, and Chaleb the son of Jephone the Kenezite said to him, Thou knowest the word that the Lord spoke to Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Cades Barne.
[7] τεσσαράκοντα γὰρ ἐτῶν ἤμην, ὅτε ἀπέστειλέν με Μωϋσῆς ὁ παῖς τοῦ θεοῦ ἐκ Καδης Βαρνη κατασκοπεῦσαι τὴν γῆν, καὶ ἀπεκρίθην αὐτῷ λόγον κατὰ τὸν νοῦν αὐτοῦ,
[7] For I was forty years old when Moses the servant of God sent me out of Cades Barne to spy out the land; and I returned him an answer according to his mind.
[8] οἱ δὲ ἀδελφοί μου οἱ ἀναβάντες μετ’ ἐμοῦ μετέστησαν τὴν καρδίαν τοῦ λαοῦ, ἐγὼ δὲ προσετέθην ἐπακολουθῆσαι κυρίῳ τῷ θεῷ μου,
[8] My brethren that went up with me turned away the heart of the people, but I applied my self to follow the Lord my God.
[9] καὶ ὤμοσεν Μωϋσῆς ἐν ἐκείνῃ τῇ ἡμέρᾳ λέγων Ἡ γῆ, ἐφ’ ἣν ἐπέβης, σοὶ ἔσται ἐν κλήρῳ καὶ τοῖς τέκνοις σου εἰς τὸν αἰῶνα, ὅτι προσετέθης ἐπακολουθῆσαι ὀπίσω κυρίου τοῦ θεοῦ ἡμῶν.
[9] And Moses sware on that day, saying, The land on which thou art gone up, it shall be thy inheritance and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast applied thyself to follow the Lord our God.
[10] καὶ νῦν διέθρεψέν με κύριος, ὃν τρόπον εἶπεν, τοῦτο τεσσαρακοστὸν καὶ πέμπτον ἔτος ἀφ’ οὗ ἐλάλησεν κύριος τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο πρὸς Μωυσῆν καὶ ἐπορεύθη Ισραηλ ἐν τῇ ἐρήμῳ. καὶ νῦν ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ σήμερον ὀγδοήκοντα καὶ πέντε ἐτῶν·
[10] And now the Lord has kept me alive as he said: this is the forty-fifth year since the Lord spoke that word to Moses; and Israel journeyed in the wilderness; and now, behold, I am this day eighty-five years old.
[11] ἔτι εἰμὶ σήμερον ἰσχύων ὡσεὶ ὅτε ἀπέστειλέν με Μωϋσῆς, ὡσαύτως ἰσχύω νῦν ἐξελθεῖν καὶ εἰσελθεῖν εἰς τὸν πόλεμον.
[11] I am still strong this day, as when the Lord sent me: just so strong am I now to go out and to come in for war.
[12] καὶ νῦν αἰτοῦμαί σε τὸ ὄρος τοῦτο, καθὰ εἶπεν κύριος τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ· ὅτι σὺ ἀκήκοας τὸ ῥῆμα τοῦτο τῇ ἡμέρᾳ ἐκείνῃ. νυνὶ δὲ οἱ Ενακιμ ἐκεῖ εἰσιν, πόλεις ὀχυραὶ καὶ μεγάλαι· ἐὰν οὖν κύριος μετ’ ἐμοῦ ᾖ, ἐξολεθρεύσω αὐτούς, ὃν τρόπον εἶπέν μοι κύριος.
[12] And now I ask of thee this mountain, as the Lord said in that day; for thou heardest this word on that day; and now the Enakim are there, cities great and strong: if then the Lord should be with me, I will utterly destroy them, as the Lord said to me.
[13] καὶ εὐλόγησεν αὐτὸν Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἔδωκεν τὴν Χεβρων τῷ Χαλεβ υἱῷ Ιεφοννη υἱοῦ Κενεζ ἐν κλήρῳ.
[13] And Joshua blessed him, and gave Chebron to Chaleb the son of Jephone the son of Kenez for an inheritance.
[14] διὰ τοῦτο ἐγενήθη ἡ Χεβρων τῷ Χαλεβ τῷ τοῦ Ιεφοννη τοῦ Κενεζαίου ἐν κλήρῳ ἕως τῆς ἡμέρας ταύτης διὰ τὸ αὐτὸν ἐπακολουθῆσαι τῷ προστάγματι κυρίου θεοῦ Ισραηλ.
[14] Therefore Chebron became the inheritance of Chaleb the son of Jephone the Kenezite until this day, because he followed the commandment of the Lord God of Israel.
[15] τὸ δὲ ὄνομα τῆς Χεβρων ἦν τὸ πρότερον πόλις Αρβοκ· μητρόπολις τῶν Ενακιμ αὕτη. καὶ ἡ γῆ ἐκόπασεν τοῦ πολέμου.
[15] And the name of Chebron before was the city Argob, it is the metropolis of the Enakim: and the land rested from war.
CHAPTER 15
[1] Καὶ ἐγένετο τὰ ὅρια φυλῆς Ιουδα κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν ἀπὸ τῶν ὁρίων τῆς Ιδουμαίας ἀπὸ τῆς ἐρήμου Σιν ἕως Καδης πρὸς λίβα.
[1] And the borders of the tribe of Juda according to their families were from the borders of Idumea from the wilderness of sin, as far as Cades southward.
[2] καὶ ἐγενήθη αὐτῶν τὰ ὅρια ἀπὸ λιβὸς ἕως μέρους τῆς θαλάσσης τῆς ἁλυκῆς ἀπὸ τῆς λοφιᾶς τῆς φερούσης ἐπὶ λίβα
[2] And their borders were from the south as far as a part of the salt sea from the high country that extends southward.
[3] καὶ διαπορεύεται ἀπέναντι τῆς προσαναβάσεως Ακραβιν καὶ ἐκπεριπορεύεται Σεννα καὶ ἀναβαίνει ἀπὸ λιβὸς ἐπὶ Καδης Βαρνη καὶ ἐκπορεύεται Ασωρων καὶ προσαναβαίνει εἰς Αδδαρα καὶ περιπορεύεται τὴν κατὰ δυσμὰς Καδης
[3] And they proceed before the ascent of Acrabin, and go out round Sena, and go up from the south to Cades Barne; and go out to Asoron, and proceed up to Sarada, and go out by the way that is west of Cades.
[4] καὶ πορεύεται ἐπὶ Ασεμωνα καὶ διεκβαλεῖ ἕως φάραγγος Αἰγύπτου, καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ἐπὶ τὴν θάλασσαν· τοῦτό ἐστιν αὐτῶν ὅρια ἀπὸ λιβός.
[4] And they go out to Selmona, and issue at the valley of Egypt; and the termination of its boundaries shall be at the sea: these are their boundaries southward.
[5] καὶ τὰ ὅρια ἀπὸ ἀνατολῶν· πᾶσα ἡ θάλασσα ἡ ἁλυκὴ ἕως τοῦ Ιορδάνου. καὶ τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἀπὸ βορρᾶ καὶ ἀπὸ τῆς λοφιᾶς τῆς θαλάσσης καὶ ἀπὸ τοῦ μέρους τοῦ Ιορδάνου·
[5] And their boundaries eastward are all the salt sea as far as Jordan; and their borders from the north, and from the border of the sea, and from part of Jordan —
[6] ἐπιβαίνει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ Βαιθαγλα καὶ παραπορεύεται ἀπὸ βορρᾶ ἐπὶ Βαιθαραβα, καὶ προσαναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ λίθον Βαιων υἱοῦ Ρουβην,
[6] the borders go up to Baethaglaam, and they go along from the north to Baetharaba, and the borders go on up to the stone of Baeon the son of Ruben.
[7] καὶ προσαναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ τὸ τέταρτον τῆς φάραγγος Αχωρ καὶ καταβαίνει ἐπὶ Γαλγαλ, ἥ ἐστιν ἀπέναντι τῆς προσβάσεως Αδδαμιν, ἥ ἐστιν κατὰ λίβα τῇ φάραγγι, καὶ διεκβαλεῖ ἐπὶ τὸ ὕδωρ πηγῆς ἡλίου, καὶ ἔσται αὐτοῦ ἡ διέξοδος πηγὴ Ρωγηλ,
[7] And the borders continue on to the fourth part of the valley of Achor, and go down to Galgal, which is before the approach of Adammin, which is southward in the valley, and terminate at the water of the fountain of the sun; and their going forth shall be the fountain of Rogel.
[8] καὶ ἀναβαίνει τὰ ὅρια εἰς φάραγγα Ονομ ἐπὶ νώτου Ιεβους ἀπὸ λιβός [αὕτη ἐστὶν Ιερουσαλημ], καὶ διεκβάλλει τὰ ὅρια ἐπὶ κορυφὴν ὄρους, ἥ ἐστιν κατὰ πρόσωπον φάραγγος Ονομ πρὸς θαλάσσης, ἥ ἐστιν ἐκ μέρους γῆς Ραφαιν ἐπὶ βορρᾶ,
[8] And the borders go up to the valley of Ennom, behind Jebus southward; this is Jerusalem: and the borders terminate at the top of the mountain, which is before the valley of Ennom toward the sea, which is by the side of the land of Raphain northward.
[9] καὶ διεκβάλλει τὸ ὅριον ἀπὸ κορυφῆς τοῦ ὄρους ἐπὶ πηγὴν ὕδατος Ναφθω καὶ διεκβάλλει εἰς τὸ ὄρος Εφρων, καὶ ἐξάξει τὸ ὅριον εἰς Βααλ [αὕτη ἐστὶν πόλις Ιαριμ],
[9] And the border going forth from the top of the mountain terminates at the fountain of the water of Naphtho, and terminates at mount Ephron; and the border will lead to Baal; this is the city of Jarim.
[10] καὶ περιελεύσεται ὅριον ἀπὸ Βααλ ἐπὶ θάλασσαν καὶ παρελεύσεται εἰς ὄρος Ασσαρες ἐπὶ νώτου, πόλιν Ιαριμ ἀπὸ βορρᾶ [αὕτη ἐστὶν Χασλων] καὶ καταβήσεται ἐπὶ Πόλιν ἡλίου καὶ παρελεύσεται ἐπὶ λίβα,
[10] And the border will go round from Baal to the sea, and will go on to the mount of Assar behind the city of Jarin northwards; this is Chaslon: and it will come down to the city of Sun, and will go on to the south.
[11] καὶ διεκβαλεῖ τὸ ὅριον κατὰ νώτου Ακκαρων ἐπὶ βορρᾶν, καὶ διεκβαλεῖ τὰ ὅρια εἰς Σακχαρωνα καὶ παρελεύσεται ὄρος τῆς Βαλα καὶ διεκβαλεῖ ἐπὶ Ιαβνηλ, καὶ ἔσται ἡ διέξοδος τῶν ὁρίων ἐπὶ θάλασσαν.
[11] And the border terminates behind Accaron northward, and the borders will terminate at Socchoth, and the borders will go on to the south, and will terminate at Lebna, and the issue of the borders will be at the sea; and their borders shall be toward the sea, the great sea shall be the boundary.
[12] καὶ τὰ ὅρια αὐτῶν ἀπὸ θαλάσσης· ἡ θάλασσα ἡ μεγάλη ὁριεῖ. ταῦτα τὰ ὅρια υἱῶν Ιουδα κύκλῳ κατὰ δήμους αὐτῶν. –
[12] These are the borders of the children of Juda round about according to their families.
[13] καὶ τῷ Χαλεβ υἱῷ Ιεφοννη ἔδωκεν μερίδα ἐν μέσῳ υἱῶν Ιουδα διὰ προστάγματος τοῦ θεοῦ, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ Ἰησοῦς τὴν πόλιν Αρβοκ μητρόπολιν Ενακ [αὕτη ἐστὶν Χεβρων].
[13] And to Chaleb the son of Jephone he gave a portion in the midst of the children of Juda by the command of God; and Joshua gave him the city of Arboc the metropolis of Enac; this is Chebron.
[14] καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσεν ἐκεῖθεν Χαλεβ υἱὸς Ιεφοννη τοὺς τρεῖς υἱοὺς Ενακ, τὸν Σουσι καὶ τὸν Θολμι καὶ τὸν Αχιμα.
[14] And Chaleb the son of Jephone destroyed thence the three sons of Enac, Susi, and Tholami, and Achima.
[15] καὶ ἀνέβη ἐκεῖθεν Χαλεβ ἐπὶ τοὺς κατοικοῦντας Δαβιρ· τὸ δὲ ὄνομα Δαβιρ ἦν τὸ πρότερον Πόλις γραμμάτων.
[15] And Chaleb went up thence to the inhabitants of Dabir; and the name of Dabir before was the city of Letters.
[16] καὶ εἶπεν Χαλεβ Ὃς ἐὰν λάβῃ καὶ ἐκκόψῃ τὴν Πόλιν τῶν γραμμάτων καὶ κυριεύσῃ αὐτῆς, δώσω αὐτῷ τὴν Αχσαν θυγατέρα μου εἰς γυναῖκα.
[16] And Chaleb said, Whosoever shall take and destroy the city of Letters, and master it, to him will I give my daughter Ascha to wife.
[17] καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτὴν Γοθονιηλ υἱὸς Κενεζ ἀδελφὸς Χαλεβ ὁ νεώτερος, καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐτῷ τὴν Αχσαν θυγατέρα αὐτοῦ αὐτῷ γυναῖκα.
[17] And Gothoniel the son of Chenez the brother of Chaleb took it; and he gave him Ascha his daughter to wife.
[18] καὶ ἐγένετο ἐν τῷ εἰσπορεύεσθαι αὐτὴν καὶ συνεβουλεύσατο αὐτῷ λέγουσα Αἰτήσομαι τὸν πατέρα μου ἀγρόν· καὶ ἐβόησεν ἐκ τοῦ ὄνου. καὶ εἶπεν αὐτῇ Χαλεβ Τί ἐστίν σοι;
