Midnight looked at Alex in confusion, "You just gave me the explanation but then your face just turns sour… Did something happen?" She was confused. Midnight understood Alex's speculation and accepted it but after seeing his sour face, she felt confused.

Alex shook his head, "No, No. It's not what you think. It's just that a scary thought came into my mind." Alex scratched his head and smiled.

Rachel looked concerned and asked, "What happened? What scary thought?"

Alex looked at Rachel and then Midnight and took a deep breath, "it's just that I realized something very weird… I can cast this dagger…" Alex said as he equipped the dagger. He continued, "And I was instantly able to use it… But what if later on, I'm able to cast another weapon but not be able to use it… I'll have to learn to use that weapon from scratch."

Midnight nodded when she heard Alex. She looked at Alex and smiled, "Then I can help you. I might not be a weapon specialist but I do have some basic experience with many weapons. Not medieval things like swords or Axes though. Only more modern weapons, like guns and close combat knives. If You are able to cast Something like a sword or a spear, I won't be able to help you… But I know a few people who specialize in that and I can ask them to help you."

Alex's face lit up when he heard Midnight, 'I was worried that I would have some older weapons that I would need to learn on my own but It seems like Midnight will help me find someone.' He looked at Midnight and smiled, "Thank you."

Midnight shook her head and looked at the doors out of the Hotel, "Now then… For where to train, I'd say the training room. Going too far outside is off limits for us. Plus, I dislike the looks we'll be given if we train in a public area. Plus these guards will also be staring at us so we need a place inside and open…" Midnight smiled at Rachel and spoke, "Luckily, we have such a place right here, don't we Rachel?"

Rachel looked at the computer screen after hearing Midnight and nodded, "It'll be free for some time now so you two can train there. Other arrangements are already made as requested by the Association. So you two can just go there."

Alex looked confused by the two's words. He looked at Midnight in question, "Where are we going?"

Midnight looked at Alex and smiled, "The training room, The best place for combat training for awakening. It's mostly used by the association to train new awakened but due to the current situation, it's free for us to use… Plus it seems like we have some help from the association so no need to get other arrangements ready for that…"

Alex nodded but another question popped into his mind, "Where is the training room? We can't go far outside so traveling to some other place to train doesn't make sense… Is it perhaps a part of the Hotel?" He was curious. He never knew about the room.

Midnight looked at Alex with a small smirk and nodded, "You are half correct, It's here but not a part of the hotel. We can go there freely because it's clear from the public so it'll only be you and I… Well, And a few guards and most likely Imani as well but no one from outside so it'll be clear. We can train in peace there."

Alex nodded. 'It seems like if possible, I'll be able to use that for that morning training routine. But again, If it's underground, It'll probably take time to reach there so I'll just train outside. I can't go far but I can stay on the premises of the hotel.' Alex made up his mind. He looked at Midnight, "Are we going there now?"

Midnight looked at Rachel and nodded, "We'll be going there now, Just follow me." She smiled as she walked towards the elevator. Alex looked confused when he saw Midnight heading towards the elevator, 'I don't think I saw any button to go to a lower floor…'

When both Midnight and Alex entered the elevator, Midnight spoke, "Rachel, you can do it. I'm pretty sure Alex is ready, I am as well." She then looked at Alex and smiled, "It's a bit far but the elevator will take us to an underground railway… We just enter that and the small train will take us to the training room."

Alex looked confused by all of this but he slowly nodded, 'It seems like there must be underground tunnels joining many important buildings… That sounds smart as well as dumb… If someone gets into the tunnel, Wouldn't that mean that they have access to the other buildings?'

Alex looked at Midnight and spoke, "How long will it take for us to reach there?" He was curious how far they would travel.

Midnight answered slowly, "Not much, a few minutes… The training room is more like a facility, very similar to the facility that they took you to. But that one was meant to take unknown suspects and test their morality as well as strength. This facility is more like a huge area filled with different small scale rooms or buildings that represent different environments to train in. The hotel is attached to this place because most people, Like I or Buster train sometimes and this is a very fast way to reach the facility. Otherwise, the others would have to enter the facility by railway under the association."

Chapter 79: Deja Vu | Hero System! Transported to Another World

Alex nodded when he heard Midnight's explanation. He felt the elevator slowly move downwards. After a few seconds, the elevator stopped and the doors opened. Alex looked outside to see a well lit up concrete hallway.

Midnight walked down the hallway after looking at Alex, "Follow me." Alex nodded and followed midnight out of the elevator. He looked around to see a few Guards standing with weapons in their hands.

Midnight stopped walking and looked towards a door. Alex also looked at the door to see that someone was standing in front of it. "You two are here... I Was also told to accompany you two to the facility to help in training as well as keep watch of everything else. I hope you don't mind."

It was Imani. She looked at Midnight and smiled. Midnight smiled back and looked at the door, "we don't mind, I was expecting you to be here. More people to help in training is good for Alex. Plus, I wouldn't mind having a sparring partner for myself. You and I both are A ranks so it'll be a fair match. I also needed training so I'll call it good luck."

Imani laughed and looked at Alex, "It must be your first time inside the facility. It's an amazing place to train, I'm sure you'll like it. Follow me, we'll enter the train."

Alex nodded when he heard Imani. He Followed Behind Midnight and Imani into the doorway. As he passed the door, he noticed that they were in a metro station like area. He looked towards the small Metro train. It looked slick. "That thing must go fast," Alex murmured when he saw the metro train.

Midnight nodded, "it's pretty quick. At least quick enough to get us to the facility in a matter of minutes."

Imani nodded and entered the metro train. Midnight and Alex followed inside. As they did, they noticed a few more guards. Alex looked around the interior, 'This looks pretty simple. I expected it to look really futuristic on the inside.'

The train slowly started to move. Alex looked out the window to see that the train was accelerating at a huge pace. Midnight looked outside as well and spoke, "It's really quick but also very stable, You won't even feel the train move for the most part and it's extremely stable." Alex nodded when he heard Midnight.

After some time, the train slowly stopped. Imani looked at the two and spoke, "We're here, follow me. We've already made arrangements so I'll lead you two to the first area."

Alex and Midnight nodded when they heard Imani and followed her outside of the train. Alex looked around to see that the area looked heavily re-inforced.

The two followed Imani through a hallway to a door. On top of the door, was a sign. Alex read out loud. "Room 2"

Midnight smiled when she saw the room number. "So close combat training at first?" She asked Imani in curiosity. Imani nodded in return and spoke, "It's the most important field to train in. 80% of reapers are short ranged. Only a few use bows. And only a hand full have been reported to use magic. So we have to help new people prepare well in terms of close combat before everything else."

Midnight nodded when she heard Imani, She looked at the door handle and smiled, "Indeed, I remember taking new awakened here and beating them to the ground. Again and Again and Again… Until the moment comes when they get back up on their feet… Before that, they would just lie down because of the pain but the moment they realize the importance of fighting, They'll know to get up. Or it'll be their death in a real battle."

Alex looked confused by Midnight's words. It made sense to him but at the same time felt confusing. Imani looked and Alex and smiled, "We'll be teaching you in a similar manner. We have this place for a week or so. After that, We'll have another meeting in the association. What comes after that meeting will be decided then and there. But before that is planned already. The first day, This is today… You will learn the basics of combat. Basic fist attacks, basic blocks, basic parry, and so on. You'll learn the fundamentals by theory and will practice it thoroughly through hardcore combat. After that, you'll be fighting. Every day until the week ends. From experience and battle will you only be able to think properly during the real thing?"

Imani took a breath and opened the door, "But that's not the only thing you'll learn. As we train you for basic hand to hand combat, You'll also be trained with simple weapons. Knives, swords, and even guns. Although you won't be an expert by the end, The entire reason to do all this is to train your body well enough so that it can train itself during actual combat." Alex nodded when he heard Imani. He understood everything that she meant. After glancing at Alex once again, Imani walked into the door.

Midnight Also followed behind slowly. Alex looked at the sign on the door and took a deep breath. 'I should be as fit and as strong as I possibly can for my level… Only then can I get Hades… I'm sure that battles will be easier with a good weapon… That is when I learn to use them.' He sighed and walked inside the door.

As he did, Alex noticed that everything was dark and the doors had closed. He looked around the room but his visibility was limited. "Where did they go?" Alex asked as he walked around in the room. He continued to walk around, looking for Imani and Midnight. "This is giving me intense Deja Vu…" Alex said with a concerned expression.

Chapter 80: Combat | Hero System! Transported to Another World

  [Combat Initiated]

The voice of women entered Alex's mind. He quickly equipped the reaper's dagger and was ready to use his attack skill. 'I thought so. I don't think the same thing that happened yesterday happened again. It must be their way of finding out what level I am in terms of combat.' Alex thought as he slowly walked back to the door. He knew he could defeat the two women so his best bet was to stay close to the door.

'The light from beneath the doors coming from outside helps a little bit to at least make out a figure in the dark.'Alex said to himself as he looked around.

  *Woosh*

Alex quickly looked towards his left to see a knife was thrown to the door. 'Knives?' Alex thought as he looked around the room. As his eyes slowly started to get used to the dark, Alex noticed a silhouette of a person slowly stalking around the corners of the room. 'Should I attack or just stay here? It's clear that this isn't Midnight because I don't think she uses the knife… So it's either Imani… Or someone else they've put up to battle me…' Alex wasn't sure who the enemy was so he couldn't decide if he should attack or just defend himself.

'Ah fuck it, I'll go on the offensive. I'm 100 percent sure that this isn't like what happened last time but I'll still watch out just in case.' Alex made up his mind. He wanted to take the initiation in combat. His eyes were already adjusted to the dark so it was easier to see in the room. Alex could exactly pinpoint where the attacker was in the room. He used might and quickly jumped towards the attacker, his dagger in hand.

The attacker looked at Alex and jumped right towards the other corner of the room. As soon as the attacker landed, Alex threw the dagger towards him. The attacker dodged the dagger but failed to notice that Alex had already jumped towards him. Alex quickly punched towards the attacker's stomach.

"Kwekh!" The man groaned. He put his hand on his stomach and jumped backward.

  *woosh* *woosh* *woosh*

Three Knives flew past Alex but they all missed. 'He's trying to make a distance with me!' Alex thought as he watched the man retreat to the back of the room. 'I should make the initiation!' Alex said as he ran towards the man. As he did, Alex also picked up the Dagger. Alex thrust towards the attacker's chest.

The attacker flinched and tried to jump back once again but he slammed towards the wall. In desperation, the attacked started to throw more knives towards Alex but all of them missed.

Alex jumped to the attacker and smiled, "It's over!" He screamed in victory as he thrusted the dagger.

  [Out of Combat]

Alex then slowly got up and looked around, "What that good enough?" He asked as tried to find Midnight or Imani. 'This person wasn't Imani or Midnight, no A-rank awakened would be this weak… Plus even if they were around the same strength as me, their experience would be a lot higher than me in terms of combat so I'd instantly lose to them anyways…' Alex sighed.

" But I do wonder, who is this?' Alex looked back at the attacker. He kneeled down and tried to get a closer look, "they're wearing a mask… I guess they either don't want their identity to be known or it's a part of the training." Alex mumbled as he looked around once again.

"Okay, I think that's enough." Midnight spoke as she walked out of a hidden door in the room. She walked to the switch and turned on the lights. Alex looked around when the lights turned on, "This looks like the room of a rich person's house…" Alex spoke as he observed the environment.

The room they were in looked spacious. It had some furniture to make it look like someone actually lived there. Midnight smiled, "This at first must have given you some flashbacks… I do apologize for that." She then looked towards the attacker. The Man's shirt was stuck to the wall by the dagger. "At least you are sympathetic towards your sparring partner." She laughed as she walked towards the man on the ground. "You can get up now." She smiled.

The man slowly got up looked at Alex. Midnight also looked at Alex and smiled, "It wouldn't have mattered even if you were to stab It… It also wouldn't have mattered if the knives were to hit you."

Alex looked confused by Midnight's words and questioned, "It? Wait…Why do you say that and why wouldn't it be a problem if I stabbed that man?… Or if he would have stabbed me?" He was curious. Alex couldn't understand what Midnight was talking about. Until now, he thought that it was a person but Midnight spoke about it as if it wasn't human.

Midnight looked and the man and smiled, "Well, It's special. It isn't human but an attack dummy. No matter how much you stab it, The max damage would be that it would be destroyed but since it isn't living, wouldn't have mattered. And well, if you check the knives… They're actually very dull." Midnight looked on the ground and picked up one of the knives. She then proceeded to poke her hand with the knife but no damage.

Alex looked at Midnight and smiled, "I guess it really wouldn't have mattered… BUt It's amazing to think that this was a bot… It acted and even grunted like a Human." Alex said in awe.

She then looked at Alex and continued with a sly smile, " It's programmed to fight Like a C ranked Awakened. They also added other features to make it seem more human. Silicon body so it feels fleshy, voice box for when it takes damage, A smart AI which decides the best course of action… Of course, the thought to action speed will depend on which Rank it is supposed to be… Taken all that, this bot's skills as well as abilities would match a C rank awakened but… It seems like we will need to graduate you, Alex… You've become a B ranked… Well in terms of power a lower B rank Awakened. You'll need to get stronger to be able to truly take on a B ranked Gate."

Chapter 81: Observations | Hero System! Transported to Another World

"What? I'm now a B rank awakened?" Alex questioned. He was curious about the Bot but his curiosity was taken over by the shock of suddenly being a B ranked awakened.

Midnight nodded and smiled, "Technically, you aren't one but you have already the capabilities of defeating a C rank. Your strength also rivals that of a lower B ranked awakened. So It's safe to say that your card will be changed and you'll be given a new one… Talking about cards, where is your card?" Midnight looked around Alex's body curiously. Alex felt his pocked and looked at Midnight with a slight smile.

"It seems like I left it in the room with my dirty clothes… I'm really not used to keeping a card around me at every moment of my life. The closes thing was my citizenship for my previous world but that was in my wallet always so I never had to remember it, It would always be with me. But here, I don't have a wallet so I forgot to keep it with me." Alex awkwardly explained. He was telling the truth, he didn't have a habit of keeping a card on him all the time because it would have always been in his wallet.

MIdnight nodded and looked at Alex, "You'll get a wallet soon. And it'll have some money in it as well. The bureau keeps track of everything so every reaper you've killed as well as every gate you clear will sum up to an amount which will be transferred. It's easy to earn money if you keep on clearing gates but it's a risk as well if you're not well trained. You don't need to worry too much about money, at least for now. You're in this amazing hotel, paid for by Hana… I don't think she will ever try to live there so It's yours for who knows long. But other things will need you to pay them, food, clothes and other personal expenses." Midnight slowly explained. "While you're doing that, just keep the card in the wallet, It's very important for everything."
