When Alex heard Buster, he thought back to when he had to battle, Rhino when he was mind controlled by a reaper, 'If I remember, it actually makes senes. Rhino said things like Impressive, Can you fight, and so on, Like he was still testing me. But he was actually trying to kill me… I guess I kind of understand what Buster means.'
Buster continued, "As for that case�� Well, he didn't show signs of muddled thoughts. It was just nothing. Everything he did felt like it was the thoughts of someone else. Like a soul possessing a human. Because of that, the guy's brain couldn't handle it at all. By the time Sir Fire caught him, the guy… Died."
Alex looked at Buster with a shocked expression, He then noticed someone walk towards them, It was Sir Fire. Buster seemed to have already noticed Sir Fire and said, "You need to calm down. You know what happens when you lose your composure?"
Sir Fire took a deep breath, his face was red but he tried to keep it within himself. "I swear, If there are signs of the same thing happening as it did to Axa, I will burn down the man responsible for that… It would be better if she was to just betray me but if that thing happened again…" His face looked crazy when he spoke, his voice was deep and scary. Alex couldn't help but step back from the aggressive aura that Sir Fire was giving at that moment.
Midnight put her hand on Alex's shoulder and smiled, "You'll get used to it." She then looked at Sir Fire, "You're scaring the new guy. Let's just head to the medical room. The girl is being checked out in there. You need to confirm that it's her before you show blow up in anger." Buster nodded when he heard midnight, he looked at Sir Fire and said, "let's go to the Medical station."
Sir Fire only nodded in response and quickly walked towards the medical station in a hurry. The three followed behind him quickly.
After the four entered the medical station, Sir Fire quickly ran towards the intruder. When he saw the face, Sir fire took another deep breath, his white hair started to slowly turn red and a small fire grew on his head. "Shin… It seems I failed you… I would be happier if you had just betrayed me and went to work for someone else after losing that eye… It was my fault that happened but I can understand that…" The Fire on his head grew larger, " BUT… If it's the other reason that you're here in front of me like this, Then… I swear my life I will find the son of a Bitch that did this…"
Buster quickly ran to Sir Fire and pulled him away from Shin, He looked into Sir Fire's eyes and said, "I won't let you participate in this if you continue to get heated… Midnight and I together can take you on, you know that. So please, for the sake of us, calm down. We need the smart and logical Sir Fire, not the angry one…"
Sir Fire looked at Shin and walked backward, he stood beside the wall and waited for her to wake up. Buster smiled when he saw Sir Fire's actions, He then looked at the doctor who seemed to hide from Sir Fire and said, "How long till she wakes up?"
The doctor looked at Buster and said, "She has a minor concussion and some injuries on her stomach… It might take 10-30 minutes before she wakes up. I took her blood as a sample and the results will come in a minute or so, We could look at that until she wakes up…"
Sir Fire looked towards the doctor and said, "Check if the blood sample results have come, there might be things that can come useful from a blood test!" The doctor urgently ran towards the computer to check for results when he heard Sir Fire. 'It seemed like everyone gets scared when Sir Fire gets angry, well except a few who are confident to take him on if together…' Alex noted.
The doctor looked at Buster and said, "The results are being processed right now. They will be done in a minute!'

Chapter 52: Blood | Hero System! Transported to Another World
Buster looked towards Sir Fire who seemed to be waiting for the blood test results to come. Alex looked at the scene in a confused expression, 'Why is Sir Fire so curious about the blood test? Did they find something about the mind controller when his previous student was controlled?' Alex asked to himself. He looked towards Midnight, "Is there something special about the blood test?" Alex asked in a curious tone.
Midnight nodded, "Indeed, Alex, Sir Fire's old student's blood results showed that he had a very weird foreign object in his blood stream. They seemed like energy blobs which acted as if they were parasites. As soon as you removed it from the body, it would die out. But when kept in the human body, It seemed to absorb energy from the host. This energy is crucial for awakened as the main reason he has these powers is due to the energy. I'll get into the entire energy thing later if youre curious about that as it also heavily relates to how serums work and how they are made but for now, You just need to understand that these parasites like energy blobs is what the two are searching for. If it's found in her blood stream… Well, we might have the same person controlling humans. If that's the case, it might be that the other intruder was also mind controlled."
Alex nodded his head, 'Energy… There are still so many things that I have to learn about this world as well as this power that I have. I'll need to ask about how awakened are made and what's the difference between awakened and normal humans once I have the time.' Alex said to himself as he looked towards the doctor who stood in front of the computer, waiting for the results to come.
A pop up came on the screen. The doctor looked towards Buster but even before he could say anything, Sir Fire was already in the lab next to him. The doctor got spooked and fell to his back after seeing Sir Fire. Buster walked up to Sir Fire and then looked at the doctor. "Get up, you're okay." He said as he helped the doctor stand up. The doctor smiled at Buster and then looked at the computer screen.
Alex and midnight and followed behind, the two also curious about the results. .0
The doctor printed a sheet of paper. It showed a large grey box. Small bits of black every few centimeters. There were more symbols on the paper but Alex didn't understand what he was seeing. He just waited to see how the others would react to the paper.
He looked at Sir Fire, who was looking at the paper very closely, "What…" Sir Fire muttered when he looked at the paper. Buster also took a close look at the paper and has the same confused expression as Sir Fire. Midnight and Alex stood behind Buster, waiting to get a proper look at the paper. "Ahh, that's weird." Midnight mumbled when she got a better look at the paper. Alex looked at the paper but to him,it looked like random shapes and scribbles, it didn't make sense.
Midnight looked at Alex's confused expression and laughed, "I can understand how you feel. It's better not to break your mind trying to learn it right now. Let these two get a good look and they'll explain what's happening. But from what I see, this is a weird situation right now." Midnight looked towards Buster who was scratching his head.
He looked towards Sir Fire, "I really don't know what to say, It seems like there are signs of the parasite blobs but it's so low in number that it might not be from the same mind controller… Or we could have been wrong on our assumptions that being mind controlled would lead to these parasites being in the system."
Sir Fire looked towards Buster, he was thinking. Alex noticed that Sir fire's anger seemed to have lightened when he went into deep thought. But after a few seconds, his face turned red and the fire still continued to burn over his head. This time, it seemed to get hotter. "It still shows signs of that person being involved. I don't think you can find these blobs anywhere else or by anything else. At least that was the case from the last research that we did. I'm still not sure but at least these blobs being in Shin's blood has proved to me that she was being mind controlled by the same person who controlled Axa a few years ago… This time, I swear I will find him…"
Sir Fire looked towards the doctor with a stern expression, "Check her brain. Take a scan. I hope she hasn't suffered much damage from mind control. The small amount of these blobs keeps me hopeful that she hasn't suffered too much damage. If that's not the case… I would fail as a teacher for not being able to save two of my students.

The doctor nodded and looked at Sir Fire, his eyes showed fear, "She needs to recuperate so let her rest. She will be up in a few minutes but until then all we can do is wait… Checking the brain at this moment wouldn't be appropriate." Sir Fire looked annoyed by the answer but he expected that answer. He walked back up to the wall and leaned on it. He looked at Shin with sad eyes but his sadness only lasted for a few moments. His face now only showed anger.
The Doctor took a sigh of relief and walked over to the computer. Buster looked at the doctor and said, "How long specifically for her to recover and wake up?" The doctor looked towards Buster and said, "I'd say around 20 minutes… She didn't suffer much from the battle but some of her energy seemed to have been absorbed by the parasites." Buster nodded when he heard the doctor's answers.
He looked towards Midnight and smiled, "Midnight, It seems like you left all the explaining to me…" Midnight laughed in reply and said, "Well, You're the one in charge of this place. I've never been here as well, I just know about the place from your random rambles."
Buster shook his head, "Knowing about this place and working here had nothing to do with explaining the energy of awakened or even how serums work. It also doesn't have to do anything about the blood report… You're just being lazy, aren't you?" Midnight looked at Buster and giggled in return.
Buster looked at Alex and smiled, "Well, We have some time on our hands before we do anything else. The investigation reports for the deal intruder will also come soon, as soon as the guards do a complete search… So, I guess I can fill you in on all the important things. From human energy to that parasitic blob."
Alex smiled back and nodded when he heard Buster, he was very curious about everything. "Okay!" Buster smiled back and walked towards a seat. Alex and Midnight followed behind him and sat down.
Buster looked at Sir Fire and said, "Let's start with the big topic at hand… The parasitic blobs, We don't have a name for it but it's extremely devastating."
Buster took a deep breath, "it essentially takes an awakened's life force, their energy, and uses that energy to reproduce to create even more blobs that absorb more energy and the cycle continues. You can imagine the huge effect it can have on the victim of these blobs but the thing is… We have never had any cases of these blobs before except Axa, Sir Fire's former student. That's why We took these blobs as a sign for the person behind that mind control." Buster took out the blood report paper and pointed towards small black circles, "These are the blobs. The square around the center of the paper is the sample and the small dots and the blobs. The larger, lighter tone dots are the blood cells. So you can see that the blobs are smaller than blood cells. Which is extremely small��� You can see that there are only a few blobs in the blood sample, If we compared this report to that of Axa's, it would be completely filled with black dots." Buster explained.
Alex looked at Buster and said in a confused expression, "What do you mean by energy?"
Buster smiled when he heard Alex's question, He looked at Alex and said, "After deep research on Awakened, it seems like the energy surges from the gates sometimes get absorbed by us humans. When that happens, our bodies adapt to these energies. And that's where our powers come from. Although we can't explain how this caused some of us to control fire or turn into animals or just manipulate surfaces, We can say that the sign of being awakened is that we can see that energy inside of your body."
Buster took a deep breath, "When the energy is taken, the awakened body which had already adapted to the energy would no longer be able to work properly. And soon, they would die from organ failure as the body wouldn't have enough energy to support the organs."
Buster then looked at Shin, "That's where the disgusting thing comes… The serums… These serums are illegal for a certain reason, they are made from a very powerful drug. This drug enhances the physical abilities of a human being as well as an awakened. It was very popular to use for the military. Think of the drug as a steroid… But Alex, when the intruder took the serum, do you think that only their physical abilities were heightened?"
Alex shook his head in answer to Buster's question. "No, I saw the man's awakened powers also become stronger. It seemed like they had heightened physical and awakened abilities."
Buster nodded, "That's where it begins. Awakened powers increase along with the increase of this energy within a human's body. So for the abilities to be more powerful, the serum needs to have that energy… The problem is that this energy isn't found anywhere else but in an Awakened Person's Body…"

"The problem is that the energy isn't found anywhere else but an Awakened Person's body…" Buster slowly said with a small hint of anger on his face. He looked at Sir Fire who was staring at Shin, waiting for her to wake up.
Alex looked at Buster with shocked eyes, he didn't know what to say, he was just in complete shock by Buster's words. Midnight out her hand on Alex's shoulder and said, "It's okay, It's no longer a thing. The government did experiment with serums but it was quickly stopped…" Alex nodded when he heard Midnight, 'The ones who thought of making these serums are the true villains here, Who could even think of that…'
Alex looked at Buster, an idea came into his mind, "If they take only a small amount, Can't that energy come somehow rejuvenate? I mean, awakened people seem to grow their powers as they train so that means that even if they have their energy taken, they can still practice and train to get back their lost energy, can't that?"
Buster smiled when he heard Alex, "I wish it was that simple, We still don't fully understand the concept of awakened energy. Who knows, it might be entirely wrong. We only use this concept as it best explains what we see when he researches the awakened body. That energy could be something else but as our understanding till now, the closest thing we have to explain it is energy… But even if we take the concept of that energy, we have so many questions our selves. But in terms of getting more powerful, It seems like the energy doesn't get larger or more abundant. But how much of that energy is used is what changes. The rest of the energy would be in reserve… But once even the slightest of that energy gets removed somehow, everything changes… The energy weakens in the body all by itself, leading the awakened to slowly get weaker and weaker, sometimes becoming even weaker than a human."
Alex looked at Buster and said, "That means that anyone who uses a serum is using something gained by sacrificing an awakened's powers and potentially their life."
Buster nodded when he heard Alex, He was about to continue to say something but was interrupted by a voice in front of him. "That would be the best-case scenario for that awakened. I've heard more died from the failure of the experimental tools than what would happen to them after their energy gets extracted. Out of every 100 people, only one serum was made. Half of them died before the extraction process began and the other half had all of their energy extracted but only 5 percent of that energy was usable. In an awakened's body, a huge amount of this energy is in reserve, meaning that we don't use it. Only a small percent is used. It's just as we train, we get used to this energy and can utilize it more to become more powerful. Although I am 100 percent sure that what we call energy is something entirely different, our science only stretches so far so until we find out what it is, we'll call energy. Back to the topic of serums, as only a small percent of the energy being usable, you can see that we have a huge problem. A normal serum mixture requires at least 30-50 people's worth of usable energy, from the reports, the two intruders had one serum each on them, and that also a higher potent serum that increased their powers by an entire rank. The serum I just talked about which used 30-50 people could only increase an awakened's powers by 10 percent."
