Chapter 49: I've Seen Her Before! | Hero System! Transported to Another World
When Alex saw the Intruder unable to do anything, he took a sigh of relief. "At Least he is taken care of…" He said as he watched A bleeding Buster walk up to the intruder.
Buster looked at Alex's face and laughed, "You don't need to worry, I've taken more damage than this. I'm just lucky that he wasn't as powerful as me. For someone who caused us this much trouble, His powers could only be compared to a lower B rank Awakened. It was the only cause of his powers that allowed him to hide from us for so long. But now, It's over… At least one of them are. You stay here and watch the intruder until backup arrives, I'll run to Midnight. Knowing her, She must have already defeated the intruder if they were like this one. But if it was more of a brawler like me, It will be difficult for her. See you in a bit, Alex!" Buster Quickly smashed the ground with his fists, causing the dirt walls to collapse in itself.
Alex watched as Buster quickly ran towards the left of the Facility grounds. He then looked towards the intruder, "What a weird day, no… What a weird series of events to happen to me. Two days in and it already feels like a month. After this is dealt with, I just want to go to sleep." Alex said in a tired expression.
He sat on the floor in front of the Intruder, Looking at the demon mask on his face. "A voice modulator, Stealth related abilities… These must have been hired to sneak in and get some intel but they were caught even before they entered the facility. Because It seemed like they could even fool an A rank Awakened like Buster but their other powers were lacking a lot."
Alex shook his head, "I still don't understand the power dynamics of this place but I guess The ones who sent these people must have something against the awakened or at least want to know what the awakened research facility has… Maybe the military?" Alex theorized as he waited for the guards to arrive.
As he waited, a question bugged Alex every few seconds. Slowly, Alex started to give in to his thought and his hands slowly raised towards the mask of the intruder. "Their Robes go over their head, I just need to put down the robe and pull out the mask," Alex said as his hands grasped the of the robe.
Alex slowly Pulled down the robe from the intruder's head and slowly took off the mask. As he did, a sweet smell entered Alex's nose. He was curious where the smell came from but Alex soon realized that the source of the sweet smell was something that he didn't hope for. Alex looked horrified when He saw a small foam fizzle from the intruder's face.
He could see that the Intruder was young, Around his own age. Alex looked at the intruder's face, "The facial features seem like that of a woman, I wonder why she decided to do all this and at the end just kill herself."
Alex got up and looked around, he was waiting for the guards. After a second or two, He finally saw a few guards running over to him. As he looked at the guards, Alex noticed that one of them was running significantly quicker than the other guards. Within seconds, that guard arrived where Alex stood.
"Sorry for the delay, we Were doing some extra rounds around the area just in case of any other intruders hiding around." The guard spoke. Alex shook his head and looked towards the guard. 'I think he might be an awakened guard. His clothes are the same as the other guards but he has a small blue symbol on his chest, which I didn't see for any other guard.' Alex looked towards the intruder on the ground and sighed, "She seems to have killed herself by poison."
The Guard looked at the intruder and shook his head, "There guys popped out of nowhere. We still haven't affiliated them with any group or organization. It seems like we were too late to get any info from the intruder."
Alex nodded as he listened to The guard. "How about the second intruder?" He asked, curious about what might have happened while he was waiting.
The Guard looked at his radio and said, "The second intruder was battling with Lady Midnight. I still don't have any info on what happened but the last radio I got on that was when Sir Buster arrived at the fight so I assume that by now they have caught the intruder. Hopefully alive. But I don't have high hopes."
He walked towards the intruder and opened her mouth, "By the looks of it, They have a poison pill in their mouth. They use it if they get in any situation where they think they will be caught. I just hope that won't be the case as this attack was just random. I don't see any reason behind the attack happening."
Alex nodded, he looked at the remaining guards who arrived. He smiled at the awakened guard and said, "I'll go and check what happened with the second intruder. I'll leave this to you and your team!"
The guard nodded looked towards his team, "Take this one to the investigation room. Don't leave anything of hers behind. We might still be able to get some clues on her origin by her clothes or the materials on her clothes!" He said as he watched Alex run towards the left of the facility grounds.
Alex looked at the prompts in front of him, "It seems like I might have leveled up a few levels because of everything that happened today. I might even have reached the level where the hidden part of the UI will be unlocked." He felt a surge of excitement when he realized that the feature that was locked due to his level might have been unlocked.
But Alex didn't pay attention to his UI right now. "It doesn't show my levels anyways. It seems like when everything calms down, then only the exps get counted and my levels start to come. I don't mind that but that could lead to some points where It could be disadvantageous to me. But let's not dwell on it too much, I'll just have to ignore it until I have some privacy to look at everything without sounding like I'm crazy to others."
Alex ran around the field until he was a few dirt walls in front of him. Slowly these walls started to collapse, until there were none left. Alex looked towards the area, searching for Buster and Midnight. "I think the battle has ended. Buster is already collapsing the walls so It makes sense that it ended. I just hope that they got the intruder before he got to kill himself."
As Alex looked around, he saw two figures standing by a figure laying on the floor. He knew that the two figures were buster and Midnight. Alex quickly ran to the two.
"Ah Alex, just in time. We just took out the Intruder." Buster smiled when he saw Alex run up to them.
Alex looked down towards the intruder and said in a hurry, "The other intruder killed herself by biting a poison pill, Quickly check this one!"
When the two heard Alex, they quickly panicked and rushed to open the mask of the intruder. As soon as they did, The three took a breath of relief. They saw a small orange pill fall out of the mask. Buster laughed, "It seems like one of midnight's gut punches got her to spit out the pill from her mouth. It explains why she seemed to be panicking."
Midnight nodded but her face was dark, "Just a young-looking girl but to be doing this… I wonder why she did this. We just need to prevent her from trying to kill herself any other way so we need to take her to the medical ward as soon as possible."
Alex looked at the girl and paused for a second. "That scar on her left eye… That face… I know this girl!"
Hearing Alex's words, the two looked at Alex with a confused expression, They didn't seem to believe Alex for a second.
"Who is she?!" Buster asked curiously. Alex scratched his head, "Well, By know her, I mean I've seen her before. She was with Sir Fire, battling in a C rank gate yesterday. Her eye got cut by a reaper at that moment as well. That's how I know her."

Chapter 50: Heated | Hero System! Transported to Another World
"Who is she?!" Buster asked curiously. Alex scratched his head, "Well, By know her, I mean I've seen her before. She was with Sir Fire, battling in a C rank gate yesterday. Her eye got cut by a reaper at that moment as well. That's how I know her."
When the two heard Alex's answer, they were shocked, Buster looked at the girl and then the sword next to her. "You mean this was the same girl, they even use the same weapon?" he picked up the sword to show Alex.
Alex nodded when he saw the sword, "Yes, It's the same weapon that she used yesterday… To think someone who was working and training to be an awakened would infiltrate the awakened research facility like that… But even more scary is the fact that she has become stronger…"
Midnight looked at Alex with a confused expression, "Stronger?"
Alex nodded in answer to Midnight's question, "Indeed, Stronger. By the looks of it, you had a one on one battle with her…" Midnight shook her head, "I could possibly defeat her on my own. Her ability is that of a B rank awakened but the main problem came in the fact that she was a brawler, a close-ranged fighter… I'm a long ranged fighter and I'm more useful for support, not one on one battles. She kept on getting close to me, making it more difficult for me as my Physical defensive abilities aren't the best. Luckily, I got her to distance herself far enough to stun her with my voice, long enough to get a few good punches. That's when Buster arrived and just took her down without a hitch."
Alex nodded, "Exactly, She has gotten stronger, a lot stronger…" Alex looked at the girl, " Her powers were weaker than me. I could defeat her, I was confident about that… But today, she was able to last so long with you, an A ranked awakened. I know my limits and I for sure can't hold a candle against you, even in a physical battle…"
Midnight looked shocked but after she gave it a thought she looked around the girl's body. After a few seconds of searching, She took out a small empty syringe. She then looked towards Buster, "I was confused about what she did when she paused as soon as I confronted her… Now it makes sense, She took a serum… but to think that a serum would even be available in this current time is just crazy…"
Buster shook his head, "Finding serums aren't as difficult. The black market is filled with them. It's a bit rare in our country but in foreign soils, many criminals have been using them… My main concern isn't even the fact that they got serums, It's the fact that they had a serum with the capability to enhance their strength that much… A Lower C rank awakened had her powers enhanced to something comparable to a B rank awakened… That's crazy. I don't think they even were able to create something like that before because the people protested for the stop of creating these serum when they found out how the serums were created… To make a serum this powerful, It's the highest degree of crime."
Alex looked shocked when he heard Buster's voice. He didn't understand how the serums were crimes and creating a serum that powerful would be such a huge deal. He looked at Buster with a curious face. Buster looked back and nodded, "I'll explain soon. For now, let's head to the facility." He said as his gaze ran to the guards who just arrived.
"Take her to the medical station. We need her to be healthy so we can properly question her later… Also, there might be other devices to allow her to take her own life, so search her clearly. Don't let anything happen to her. This attack was out of nowhere and frankly, it doesn't make sense at all. You all probably have already understood that point." Buster explained in a stern and serious voice.
The guards nodded and quickly got to work. Buster looked at Midnight and Alex, "Let's go to the investigation room. They've probably taken the dead girl to that room."
Alex looked at Buster and said, "Why the investigation room for her, and not a medical station?"
"The answer is easy, She's dead. We don't need to put resources on a person who's dead. It's better to do a complete search of her body, clothes, and accessories if found dead. Then think about the body itself. We will take her body to the medical station after conducting investigations for a postmortum to look for clues on her poison and where it could be found. Plus, we could also know a few things about her from the food she might have eaten before this and so on. The mineral composition in her body could also provide small hints." Buster said slowly as he walked towards the facility. Alex and midnight followed behind, listening to his explanation.
The three walked into the facility, where everyone seemed to be panicking. Buster looked at one of the staff and said, "No need to worry, they were weak. I don't know why they infiltrated our facility but they were dealt with. Everything is fine."
The staff looked at Buster with a smile and calmed down. The rest of the staff also calmed down hearing Buster reassure them. "Now, Investigations will take place on them so you all stop your worries and get back to your work as nothing happened. Getting in and out of the facility will be more strict now and from what I've heard, more guards will arrive here soon. So you're all safe and sound." Everyone nodded and got back to their offices.
Buster looked at Alex and said, "Let's meet with Sir Fire. He would have come out to battle the intruders as well but I told him that it was taken care of. So, he's back to experimenting with the crystal. Let's wait here while I call him up… I'm sure that he would like to hear the news of his student."
Alex and Midnight nodded and took a sear at the cafe that they were in a few minutes ago before the intruders came. The two looked at Buster who took out his phone and called Sir Fire. After the call, Buster looked at Alex and said, "We'll probably have a small problem now…"
Midnight looked at Buster with wide eyes and said, "You don't mean…" Buster nodded in return, "It's what you think it is…"
Alex looked at the two with a very confused expression, He had no clue what they were talking about. Midnight looked at Alex and said in a serious tone, "You must have heard that Sir Fire is a pseudo S rank Awakened. Or that he was higher than an A rank but lower than an S rank…"
Alex nodded when he heard Midnight. "I did hear that but I don't know why he is called so…" He replied.
Midnight nodded, "Well, Sir Fire is a particular fellow… His powers are weird, His powers normally are that of an A rank but if she gets angry, his powers get stronger. His fire gets hotter and turns blue, and his thoughts get muffled in the anger. When this happens, his powers are comparable to that of a lower S rank Awakened. Not as powerful as a True S Rank awakened but more powerful than an A rank awakened. Thus, he is a False S rank awakened, or pseudo S rank… Well, Hearing about his student, I'm sure that he is angry… He was already getting heated when he heard about the intruders, Let's just hope that he controls that anger."
Midnight explained. Alex nodded when he heard Midnight, "I don't think he will be that angry over something like that… He might be a little heated but It's not something to be angry about, is it? I would feel more sad than angry…"
Buster nodded when he heard Alex, "You're right but something like this has happened before. One of Sir Fire's students suddenly went to crime, even killing a few civilians. When investigated, it was found that his student wasn't in complete control of his thoughts. Someone was controlling him…"

Alex looked at Buster with a shocked face, He didn't believe what Buster said. "Control?" Alex said in a confused tone.
Buster nodded, "Yes, control." Alex looked at Buster once more and spoke, "Are you saying that something like a reaper controlled Sir Fire's old pupil and cause him to commit crimes? And eventually even murder?"
Midnight shook her head when she heard Alex. Buster looked at midnight and took a deep breath, "That was the issue. It wasn't a reaper… We don't know who controlled him but it was not a reaper, not at all. The things he did, they didn't seem to point to being a reaper, It seemed like an actual human being made him do those things for his own personal benefit but by that time, we still thought it might have been a reaper… It was Sir Fire himself who captured his old student but the damage caused by the mind control was something that couldn't be healed. Reaper's mind controls can be healed, hell, only a few might require healing but that was the first time that a mind-controlled person couldn't even be healed."
Buster looked at Alex and said, "That was the turning point which lead to us thinking that it was a person who controlled his mind… A reaper's mind control wasn't true mind control. Hell, Some wouldn't even call it mind control. It's more of a mind influence than control. It just muddles the person's thinking and causes them to be more aggressive and more violent. They still act like themselves in some subtle ways, like speaking a small bit or so on but for the most part, Their thoughts become influenced."
