“I heard that,” Thea said with a smile.

“Well, it’s about damn time that it started happening without me having to push so damn hard. I was starting to think that there would be one thing that you didn’t get from me.”

“On a different note, I agree with Asim.” The wicked grin was back, as were the fuck me eyes.

“Oh, Malak, I wish that this were a fight I would win, but I know I won't. And neither will you, you should just cave and read the letter.

“Nope. Not on anyone’s terms but my own.” She jumped off the desk, “I should get going, thank you for lunch love.” She kissed me one last time and then left.

“You are an idiot,” Asim said.

  Chapter Nineteen

  Thea

“That was awesome,” Rida said as we walked out of Zilli’s classroom.

“It was, I’m not going to lie, I’m just satisfied that I got to finally suck his dick. The sex, it’s awesome but giving head is fun,” I told her.

We walked the rest of the way to class in silence, my next class was Succubus feeding habits, though I think I’ve got that one figured out. I was sitting at my desk when the rest of the class filed in from lunch.

“Okay class, today we will talk about the anomaly of being able to feed without being intimate.” If Mia hadn’t looked right at me, I might have thought this was a coincidence.

“Is that possible or just a myth?” Someone from the other side of the room asked.

“It actually happens, not very often though,” she said to the whole class.

I shook my head, hoping and praying that she doesn’t bring up the fact that I did. I don’t want anyone to know that I was able to do that, if they did then we would have to explain all this extra power that I had, and no one wanted to do that.

“Do you know anyone that can do that Mia?” Another kid in the class asked.

“I personally know of one person that can, she will remain anonymous, however.” She gave the whole class a stern look. “Back to the lesson though, Succubus this strong don’t come around very often. Where a succubus usually feeds off of desires that you are already feeling, someone this strong would be able to reach inside of you and pull out the desires. Where one might not have been sexually aroused before, they would be when the Succubus fed.” Well, that’s a good bit of information.

I raised my hand, “so how would that person control that? Couldn’t they potentially make everyone around them aroused?”

“Well no. They have to focus on specific people and think about how that person would taste, it wouldn’t be as simple as walking down the hall, they would have to think about it.” She smiled at me.

Good to know. “You don’t need to worry about it, Earth girl. There is no way that you would ever be able to access power like that.” Lilly said from three chairs away.

“Why do you have such a problem with me?” I said as I turned her way.

“You shouldn’t be here. You don’t belong and we shouldn’t be wasting our time with you.”

“Enough. I don’t care who your parents are Lilly, you won't do this in my classroom,” Mia said to her.

I didn’t pay much attention after that. How I am passing my classes is beside me, I don’t pay attention more than half the time.

  One week before Christmas

“I still can’t get over the fact that y’all don’t celebrate Christmas! I love all the lights! And the colors! And decorating the tree with my parents—” With that last part I let my mind wander. I was curious if my parents were doing all of our traditions without me there?

“We are Demons, are you really that surprised, Thea?” Mercy asked me as we walked out of the last class of the day

“A little bit, my family never tried to get me to believe in Santa, but we decorated the house anyway. It was fun,” I told her while we walked.

“Well, you can always decorate your apartment. But we will have a break from classes right at the first of the year, that’s the only thing that is going to change around here,” She said. I followed her as she turned toward her apartment, it sucks that we didn’t live on the same side of the building.

“Wait, let's go outside,” I said as I turned to go out the door.

  “Why?”

“I want to get another look at one of the fountains, I’ve been trying to sketch it, but I can’t get it right. I want to see it again, figure out what I’m missing.”

We sat in the grass by the fountain for a good 20 minutes before I heard them laughing, but as I turned and looked back Jessica slammed into me. Of course, the laughing was coming from Cassandra and her band of bimbos. I wish more than anything that I could escape these girls, everywhere I look they are giving me evil eyes and whispering behind my back. On the bright side, I have emotionally dealt with the issue of having more than one boyfriend, so nothing they say on that topic bothers me.

  Much.

“Watch it! I don’t want your nasty to rub off on me!” Jessica all but spit in my face.

“Excuse you, but you bumped into Thea. Not the other way around.” Mercy always came to my rescue, even when she didn’t need to.

“No. I would never intentionally touch her. There is no telling what kind of diseases she has. With the way that she sleeps around.” Jessica snickered as the girls behind her tried like hell to keep a straight face.

“Lilly, Sasha, y’all should mind your own damn business, and Cass, I am surprised that you are even still standing here. Didn’t I scare you enough last time?” I was so used to Rida at this point that it’s no trouble at all for us to switch back and forth, but sometimes I wish she would let me fight my own battles as well. I don’t need someone standing up for me all the time. Eventually, I will have to do it myself.

“You’re right. I’ll stand down,” she said in my head as she gave me my body back.

“You ran away scared and everyone knows it, you can’t even stand up for yourself, why would anyone be scared of you?” Lilly said. I honestly have never even taken the time to get a good look at her, she was your average blonde mean girl. Nothing special about her.

  “Nothing at all.”

I love that Rida and I are always on the same page. It makes sharing our body that much easier.

“Have y’all not realized that nothing you say bothers me? I know my truth and nothing you say will make me feel bad about any of it. You should take your childish drama somewhere else and leave me the hell alone.” I tried to push past Jessica, but the other girls just blocked my way.

“Four on two, how bold of them.”

“Let us pass,” Mercy said with more sass than I have ever heard her use.

“Oh, but I would rather kick her ass,” Sasha said as she stepped up to face me. “I know you have that weak ass Jinn inside you, but we aren’t scared.” Her skin took on the haze and black tint as her Jinn came up.

I had no desire to fight her in the middle of the quad, but I didn’t see how I could possibly get out of this without physically running away, that’s not happening.

“I can take her.” Rida had all the confidence.

“Thank you, but I think I can handle this one myself. I have been practicing and I have a few tricks up my sleeve if I need them.” I know that I shouldn’t use my full power in front of anyone but if this chick is hell-bent on kicking my ass, I was not going down without a fight.

“You don’t want to do that,” I said to her as I put my hands up.

“Oh, but I really do, you don’t deserve anything at all, and yet you have two of Lilith’s sons. You don’t even belong here.” She basically screamed the last part as she lunged at me.

Before I could completely protect myself, Sasha’s fist connected with my face.

Awesome. We are going old school.

I swung back a few times and caught her with a solid left hook on her jaw. I could tell from the look on her face that she wasn’t ready for the power that I had behind my swing. Not only had I been working on my magical strength but my physical power as well. As long as I stayed focused, I should be able to win this fight, maybe.

She got a good kick to my gut. I sucked in the air where I could, but that motion alone was becoming a little difficult. Working with a bag or a dummy is one thing, but those objects don’t fight back, this one kept hitting me in the same rib.

“Kick her ass, Sasha!” Lilly hollered.

“Keep on those ribs!” Cassandra said.

“You deserve this Thea!” Jessica said.

I tuned them out after that. She had landed a few good hits, but so had I, so I wouldn’t say that she is exactly kicking my ass, but whatever.

I knocked Sasha’s legs out from under her, which didn’t work in my favor because she pulled me to the ground with her. My body screamed as the shock ran through the parts that connected to the ground. She was on top of me before I was able to roll away, she grabbed a hand full of my hair and used it to slam my face into the ground. I felt my nose break before I saw the blood. I used my whole body to throw her off of me, she tried to get up, but I just pulled her back down.

This time I had the upper hand, I used my knees to pin her arms down at the elbow, then hit her three times in the face. I felt her jawbone break beneath my hand and was satisfied to see pain wash over her. She gave up the fight right about then, I didn’t swing again but I didn’t get off of her, this could be a trick and she might attack me as I move away.

Someone grabbed me and pulled me to my feet, then threw me 3 feet away. I tried like hell to land in a way that wouldn’t hurt me, I wasn’t successful. My body fought against me as I tried to pick myself up, every muscle screaming to stay down.

“You have to get up, they aren’t done. You have to fight back!” Rida yelled at me.

“I can’t! I have nothing left. You do it!” I felt the heat move over my skin and all of my muscles getting an energy boost.

Right about then I started being pelted with Elements. The wind held me where I was, unable to fight back, unable to move at all. Fire curled around me making my skin feel like it was touching me, burning little pieces of my skin off at a time. Vines started to grow up my legs getting tighter and tighter until I thought that my legs would snap. When Water joined, I thought for sure I was going to die, a huge globe floated around my head until it touched me, slowly raking over my head until I couldn’t breathe.

I started to panic, thrashing my head around as much as I could, I wanted more than anything to drop to the ground and get Water off my face, but Air held me up so that I couldn’t get away from the drowning.

“Calm down! Go to the Elements place. They can help you,” Rida hollered at me, but I couldn’t calm down. I was going to die.

“Seriously Thea! Calm down, call all of the Elements to you, they will help, I promise!” she said in a very sure voice.

Without taking a calming breath going to a peaceful place was difficult but I managed.

The water was a little rippled today, and the flames of the Fire weren’t as calm as normal, how weird. Out of habit, I took a deep breath and then panicked a little. I’m not here—only my mind is—my body still can’t breathe.

“Your body is fine, you can pull air from the inside of the water and keep your body going, so don’t freak out.” A woman said from behind me.

“Can I freak out because you are here, and I have no idea who you are? I have never seen someone else here before. I kind of thought this was a place that I made up in my mind,” I told her. She was beautiful, literal perfection, she had auburn curls that went to her belly button, a curvy figure, about 5 foot 5 inches if I had to guess.

“I am sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you. Just thought you might benefit from a little conversation.”

“Okay, and who are you?” I asked.

“Oh, I’m sorry you may call me whatever you like.” Wait. She doesn’t have a name.

“Oh, I have a name—but I fear that it might make you panic,” she said a little worried.

“Well, I can’t panic any more than I was on Earth. So, lay it on me, lady,” I told her confidently.

“You like to refer to me as ‘the powers that be’ or ‘the Big Guy’ but most people call me God.” Wait. Did I hear her right? Surely not.

“But…” I couldn’t bring myself to argue or come up with anything at all to say.

“I am a woman? Yes, it’s true, but please let's move on from that, I have very little time to tell you what you need you to know.”

  ✽✽✽

When I got back to the real world my head was fuzzy. All the Elements had stopped attacking me, and I could breathe, but I could feel all the pain. One of my legs was broken, one of my eyes was swollen shut, and I could feel the water in my lungs moving every time I coughed.

I felt Zilli show up, then the headmaster's voice ran through my head like a freight train.

“ANYONE THAT IS NOT DIRECTLY INVOLVED IN THE CURRENT SITUATION SHOULD LEAVE. NOW.”

I was a little curious about how he made his voice that loud, but I didn’t think that now is the time to ask.

  “I’ll remind you later.”

I snickered to myself, I might not remember that later but Rida sure would.

I tried to get up and failed, I'm not sure when I fell to the ground again, but I was happy that I was already down when I came too. Mercy left, as did the few people that I hadn’t realized were standing around.

Zilli looked at me in horror, I imagine that I was quite a sight right now, blood was still running down my face, and I am pretty sure that my eyebrow was busted. My leg was at a weird angle, and my foot was facing the wrong direction.

“Hey, I will heal through sex, so maybe they will stop this ridiculous motion of no sex till I read that damn letter. That will show them!” I said to Rida.

“You know you are literally on death's door and you are thinking about sex. You are something else. Even at a Demon academy.”

“You know, you don’t always have to be the voice of reason, sometimes you could just stay quiet. And if I am going to die, I can go out with an orgasm or two. Bite me.”

Zilli snorted a little and Mr. Beaumont gave him a look that said, ‘straighten up and act like a teacher’. I sucked in a strangled breath and used the rest of my energy to pull my hair up off my face and into a messy ponytail, Zilli watched my every move without ever moving from the headmaster's side. He usually did a pretty good job of making sure that he remained in teacher mode. It seemed to be taking its toll on him this time though, granted I am his mate, and I might not be in the best state right now

“What happened here?” Mr. Beaumont asked all of us.

“We were just walking out of the building and she attacked us! Yelled something about hating all the Elite!” Lilly sputtered out in between fake tears. I knew better than to try to argue right away but my mouth had a different opinion.

“Bullshit!” I yelled, “Jessica slammed into me while I was just sitting here looking at the statues, I tried to walk away, and Sasha started the fight.”

“Oh, yeah, because I would start a fight and then end up looking like this! You blindsided me!” Sasha countered.

“Sasha if she blindsided you like you are insinuating then why is her nose broken? That happened at least 5 minutes ago being that her eyes are already turning black and one is swollen. That doesn’t look like she blindsided you by any means. I’m not even going to mention the rest of her injuries.” I had honestly expected the Headmaster to side with the Elite simply because they are who they are, but it seems that not only was I wrong, but he was looking at this logically and not politically.

“Do Demons even have politics? Are there things that they fight over and vote over in Hell or is everything just decided for us?”

  “Not the time Thea!”

“I swear Mr. Beaumont. She even brought up the last time that she attacked me in Mr. Zilli’s classroom.” Cassandra chimed in.

“Wait. This has happened more than once?” He asked as he moved his attention to me.

“Well, not exactly it was the day I found out I had a Jinn, I walked in on her and Zilli kissing and the mate bond inside of me took over and I got mad.”

“Thea never even touched her! I am the one that threw her against the wall!” Zilli admitted.

“Why wasn’t I notified of this?” The headmaster asked.

“I handled the situation; I didn’t think it needed to be talked about. It was taken care of,” Zilli told him.

“I am still the Headmaster; I should be informed of any and all issued inside of my school.” I could tell that the Headmaster was angry at Zilli, but Zilli appeared just as mad.

“You will do good to remember that I am still a Son of Lilith, and the only reason that you are Headmaster at all is because both Elijah and I turned the job down and Ambrose is too young!” He seemed to grow a foot taller while he spoke, or maybe the Headmaster just shrunk under his gaze. Either way, he was going to win this one. Maybe even keep me out of trouble.

“You are right. I’m sorry. Why doesn’t everyone go their separate ways and we act like this didn’t happen.” Mr. Beaumont suggested. “Thea I will have the doctor sent to your apartment to set your leg, and you are excused from finals and the rest of classes for the year.”

Zilli walked over and scooped me up off the ground. If I thought sitting on the ground hurt, man was I wrong. I let out a scream that makes Zilli tense up and stumble just a little.

“I am so sorry,” he whispered to me. I could hear the band of bimbos laughing somewhere behind us.

“Why can’t they just leave me alone? I have never done anything to them, and yet every time I turn around one of them is talking trash, or knocking books out of my hands, or tripping me in the hallway. Why can’t they just get over it?” I asked him when we walked through my door, he had been quiet the whole walk here.

“I have no idea. Someone is holding one hell of a grudge but that doesn’t explain the bullying. I’m going to be completely honest; I am kind of freaking out right now and Asim wants to go murder them all. What the hell happened Thea?” I told him everything that I remembered, even the hazy part surrounding the Elemental place. He listened quietly while he stroked my hair. When I finished a knock came from the door and the doctor came in.
