Unbelievable, page 11
“I might put up more of a fight than you think, but I have no interest in entertaining you, I’ll be going on my way,” I said. I walked past her with sure feet. Not showing fear, but with a purpose that said I don’t want to deal with her. I was a few steps past her when a gust of wind knocked me off my feet, with a loud grunt I landed on my ass.
“What the hell?” I screeched.
“I warned you that I was more powerful than you.” She gloated.
“I tried to let this end in a rational way, without a fight. Yet here you are, proving that I’m a better person.” I tried to recreate the thing I did with the Water in class the other day, I wasn’t as fast as her though. She used Air to knock my Water ball away before it contacted her face.
I tried a few more times, none of which were successful. She knocked me around with the wind some more, laughing as she toyed with me. Tying to use the Water just exhausted me more, so I decided to go old fashion. I didn’t hesitate the next time she knocked me over, instead of getting up I lunged forward, tackling her to the ground and wrestling my way on top of her.
I figured I would take her by surprise, not very many women are ready to be tackled by another person. Especially if they are the one that was winning the fight moments ago.
“GET OFF OF ME!” She yells.
“Not until you stop. There is no reason that you should have attacked me! I was leaving!”
“NO! I’m not going to let you come in here and take things that don’t belong to you!” I was still holding her down, but she stopped fighting me as she talked. I’m not sure that’s such a good sign.
“I have no idea what you are talking about. I didn’t take anything!”
“You did though!” she fought back again, “Zilli and Cassandra have been dating for years. Then you show up and Asim forces Zilli to walk away from her in front of everyone. It was insulting and then the things that Asim said to her in the hallway were uncalled for, he would have never spoken to her like that if it hadn’t been for you!”
Oh, poop. “I didn’t know that they had been together, and not that it would have mattered, Zilli and Asim are my Fated Mate, he knew it the second he found me in the bar in Texas. There is nothing Cassandra or I could have done to change it.” Maybe telling her that wasn’t the smartest option, but it would appear that my mouth and my brain weren’t on the same wavelength.
“You walked in holding Elijah’s hand though!” she stopped fighting again, but her body had started to shake with anger. That certainly wasn’t a good sign.
“Yes, I am Fated to both of them.” I barely got the words out when she screamed and hurls me off her.
I had just hit the ground when she started to pummel me again. At this point, my anger was getting away from me. I felt the heat building in my stomach, it moved across my body like a wildfire, energizing me to no end. The girl’s eyes got huge, and she started to crab crawl away from me. She honestly looked scared—I tried to calm down—but my anger was too much. I had tried to resolve this peacefully, but she wouldn’t let it go, she just had to continue to attack me. This was all her fault.
The heat got to an all-time high, I pulled my hands up to wipe the sweat off my face and realized that my skin had taken on a smoke effect, much like Asim did but mine was red where his was black.
How? Why? Am I ever going to stop having questions about this fucking world?
The fire started to seep out of my hands, slowly burning a line in the grass as it worked its way to the girl who still sat on the ground. I realized that I should calm down and that hurting this girl wasn’t something that I wanted to do, but I couldn’t control it. I was so angry that I needed to let it out. This was the way it was going to go.
Consequences be damned.
“Thea! Don’t!” I looked over and saw Zilli shift into Asim then he tackled me to the ground. His arms circled me, creating a cage so that the only pain that I felt was his body knocking into mine. With the way he cradled me I barely felt us hit the ground. “Thea, you need to calm down, I could feel your power from across campus!” I had done the tackling in a few fights, but I had never been the one to be tackled. I imagine that when I tackled someone it didn’t feel like this.
Elijah followed behind him shortly, as did another guy who looked extremely familiar, but I didn’t know. From the pale skin, I could at least determine that he was a vampire.
“Jessica!” The guy yelled, he scooped her up and stepped over the edge of the bubble, and disappeared to the other side. Once his voice registered with me, I realize that he was the Vampire that sold me my fake ID. Was this the other brother that Asim was talking about this morning? Man, he’s going to be pissed when he finds out his brother was the one that’s selling fakes to underage humans.
Damn the other brother is going to be one pissed-off Vampire when he finds out I’m the girl that gave him pig blood.
I tried to fight Asim off of me, but it wasn’t going in my favor, he has over a foot on me and easily 100 lbs. Basically, all he had to do was lay on me and there was absolutely nothing I could do about it. I needed to find a way to let all of this anger out without hurting my guys.
“Elijah, I suggest you take some of this from her, quickly,” Asim said as he moved off me, Elijah quickly took his place on top of me. He wasted no time in grabbing my face, there were no slow and loving emotions behind this kiss. It was pure hunger; I felt my anger subside. If I focused, I could feel him sucking the energy from me, pulling my rage out of me. He continued to kiss me for a few seconds longer when he pulled away and pulled both of us to our feet.
“Better?” he asked as we stood up.
“Yes, I am, what the hell was that about? I couldn’t control myself.” Now that the anger was gone the panic set in. I almost killed her!
“When Asim took you to the ground I noticed the mark on your hip was glowing, like Fire. I’m just speculating here, but I think that by completing the Mating bond last night you have absorbed some of his Jinn magic. I have never seen anything like this happen before, but it seems to be the only plausible explanation.” Elijah took my hand and pulled me close as he spoke, Zilli was pacing about 10 feet away. Clearly stressing about what just happened. I wonder if Asim has gone back in to have his freakout.
“Who was that with you? The guy that took Jessica away?” I asked.
“That was our brothers, Ambrose,” Zilli said, though he sounded angry about it. Maybe it was because I am asking about another man when both of my mates are standing right in front of me. No that can’t be it, he said he expected to share a mate with his brothers.
“Sorry” I mumbled as I looked at my feet.
“No need to be, baby girl. I am not upset with you. Ambrose just pushes my buttons. Pretty much all the time. As the baby, he tends to act out a lot.” Zilli explained as he wrapped his arms around me.
“Well then, what I am about to tell you is going to piss you off,” I said looking into Zilli’s eyes.
“What?” His face turned to stone.
“Well, I don’t want to say that I am 100% positive but I’m fairly sure that he is the Vampire that sold me my fake ID…” I watched as Zilli got even madder, I believe that his skin was literally smoking.
Elijah pulled me back a few steps as Zilli started to stomp around, he even pulled a few trees from the ground as he mumbled about how Ambrose was a child who doesn’t listen to anyone’s rules. He has some other things to say but they were really bad and should never be repeated.
After about 5 minutes he calmed down, took a few deep breaths, and walked back over to where we were standing. Elijah kept ahold of my hand, Zilli put his arm around my shoulder, and together we walked back to the building.
“You feel okay?” I asked Zilli.
“Better, after the tree ripping.” He smiled down at me.
“And you? What did you do with all the anger you pulled from me?” I asked Elijah.
“I feel fine, I am much better at handling my emotions than you are love, I just deal, and it simmers down in a little bit.” He made that sound so easy, hopefully, he could teach me how to do it.
Having both of my men touching me made me feel better. Not so murderous. Maybe I was going to get through Hell Raisers Academy sane and in one piece after all. With both of these men, I might even get lucky and not kill anyone in the meantime.
Chapter Ten
Zilli
October 31st
As I pulled my suit on for the day, I thought about the last few weeks.
Since the accident with Jessica things had been much better. Things with Thea had been great, I moved some of my clothes over to her apartment so that I wouldn’t have to leave to get dressed every morning, which was super nice. I am still the only person that she is bound to, which is pretty awesome.
“As it should be.” Asim doesn’t like that we will have to share her one day.
“You know that she isn’t only ours, she has other mates, at least two more of them. So, one day you will have to get over the possessiveness.” I had been having this same argument with him for almost three weeks.
Thea, Elijah, and I have settled into a routine that works great for all of us. Well mostly. Elijah would never pressure her or ask more than he thought she could handle but I knew it bothered him that they haven’t shared a bed yet. I couldn’t blame the guy, over 100 years and he has to live with the fact that someone else claimed his mate before he did. It’s got to be torture.
I could hear Elijah and Thea eating their breakfast in the kitchen. I tend to use a little extra time getting dressed in the morning so that they could have time alone together, after all, I was alone with her all night.
Things in the bedroom were getting much easier but it was a slow process. Asim isn’t happy about it because he hasn’t gotten the chance to enjoy himself without seeing it through my eyes. When we met Thea, she was still a virgin, and even though she isn’t now, she is still tender and having some pain during sex. Of course, it’s normal, and not to brag but I’m not a small guy so it’s taken a little while to get used to. I feel like his day is coming though.
“Good morning brother.” I greeted Elijah as I exited the bedroom. I walked up to Thea and kissed her on the head. “I am going to grab a small breakfast on my way to my classroom, I have some papers to organize.” I nodded to them both and headed for the door.
“Last night was a little less vanilla than normal,” Asim commented as I walked down the hall.
“It was, she is getting way more comfortable with the Succubus part of herself, she is starting to use her Jinn powers in interesting ways too.” It had taken us both by surprise last night when she focused the Jinn heat that she has on the part of her that was wrapped around me. It made me cum on the spot and I had to finish her the other way, not that she minded.
“I’m pleasantly surprised that she had developed some of my powers,” Asim said. “I do wonder if she is going to gain more of them, or if she is going to get powers from the others as well, it is very odd that she has as much as she does. If I didn’t know any better, I would say that she was a Jinn.” I have found myself wonder the same thing.
Ambrose rounded a corner down the hall, spotted me, and promptly turned around, this was pretty normal behavior for him. I had it out with him after Thea told me about him being the one selling the IDs, it went about like I expected it to go. He fought me, denied it, and then said that whether or not I believed him, mom would. Mom always sides with her baby.
I should have known that nothing was going to come of me trying to stop him. He does whatever he wants regardless of the consequences. All that I could do now is keep a close eye on him and intercept him before he goes to the human world. Minors aren’t allowed to go to Earth, but being a Son of Lilith has its perks, getting through the boundary is one of them.
As I walked through the door to my classroom Asim perked up, we weren’t alone. I don’t bother locking my room, it’s not necessary, there was nothing in there that needed to be put away and Demons aren’t stupid enough to vandalize the school. That left it open for anyone to bother me in the morning though. Maybe I should reconsider the lock.
“What do you want?” Asim growled before I could even figure out who was there.
“Well, you have been helping Zilli avoid me so what was I supposed to do?” Cassandra said from the back corner of the room. “Regardless of anything new in his life Zilli always comes in early on Thursdays. Always.”
“You are supposed to get the hint and leave us alone. We are actively avoiding you, that should be reason enough to stop trying” Asim snapped.
“Why don’t you let me talk to Zilli, he’s the one I was trying to talk to. Or is he too much of a coward to talk to me?” She was on a whole new level of arrogance today.
“I am not too much of a coward, I just have absolutely nothing to say to you. I don’t always have the choice of whether or not Asim is upfront, he is very strong, and I don’t always win. That is beside the point, I just genuinely don’t want to deal with you, and he is more than willing to take the reins.” I leaned on my desk, making sure she understood I was unfazed.
“Maybe you should grow a pair and take better control of your Jinn, he shouldn’t be able to control you. For Lucifer’s sake, you are a Son of Lilith!” She’s right, I am a Son of Lilith. She’s the one that needs a reminder.
So quick she wouldn’t have had the opportunity to defend herself, or even realize what was going on, I heaved a Fireball at her right shoulder. Typically, I don’t use Elements to fight. I have more than a fair share of control over them, but she pushed it. She should have known better. The Fire clipped her shoulder and threw her against the wall, she slid to the ground with a hard thump.
“How did you think this was going to go Cass? Did you believe you were going to surprise me in my classroom, we would exchange words and then I would put you on the desk and fuck you like I used to? Are you that stupid? Or did you think that you were going to come in here and insult Asim and I and just walk away?” I used a low threatening voice as I stalked toward her.
“No, that’s not why I came here, but you have got to realize what that girl is doing to you. There is a reason someone hid her away, there is a reason that her parents put her in the care of humans. She doesn’t belong here; she has no control over herself and she is already throwing this whole school into a frenzy.” I could tell that she was more than a little scared.
“Good, she should be. She’s lucky that you are the one holding control right now because I probably would have already killed her.” Asim wasn’t fighting me, but he wasn’t happy about being held down either.
“Well, that’s why I’m the good cop to your bad cop. Now, stay calm and don’t even THINK about eating her.” He scoffed at my joke.
“She’s not doing anything to me Cass, you know absolutely nothing about her or even me. Yes, we fooled around for a while, but you don’t know me. You have no right to come in here and insinuate that Thea has done anything to me other than making my life feel complete.” I stand only a foot from her, she looked me head to toe and then pulled herself to her feet.
“You are not as strong as you think you are, I mean seriously you can’t even keep control of your Jinn. You let him walk all over you and pull you away from the people that are always here for you. We were supposed to stand together beside Lilith one day, and you are going to just throw it all away for some stupid slut who is screwing multiple other men?” Ah, so this wasn’t about Thea at all.
“Cassandra, I never told you that you would stand beside me. You just assumed that you would get to because we were screwing. The simple fact that you thought it was any more than a meaningless fling shows how senseless you are. You never meant anything to me, not truly. I enjoyed my time with you but there were never any real feelings between you and I.” I kept my voice low and even as I spoke, trying to keep my anger at bay. No need to lose control in my classroom.
“You’re lying. I know you cared about me; I know you did. Then you just HAD to go to that damn bar. Out of all the Demon bars over the world you kept going back to that one.” Something flashed in her eyes then, like she was finally putting it together. “Oh hell no. It was her, wasn’t it? Did you keep going to that bar in Texas for her? Even before she came of age you knew, didn’t you? All those nights you left me here or in Hell alone to go see some stupid insignificant human act a fool on Earth? You can’t be serious.” She grew some courage as she yelled—stepping closer to me—then at the last moment, she picked her hand up and swung.
If I had to guess I would say that she was going to slap me, but she didn’t get that far. I caught her wrist and used my other hand to grab her by the throat, it was too easy to pick her up off the ground and slam her against the wall she had just walked away from.
“You should consider being more careful. I went to Earth bars for a long time before I settled on the one in Texas, whether or not I went to that bar for her is none of your business. She is not stupid nor is she insignificant, and I strongly suggest that you end this and leave my classroom right now.” I let her go and stepped back, she glanced at the door and then back at me.
Everything happened so fast after that even as I went to turn away, she grabbed my arm and pulled me back to her. Using her Hell Hound strength, she pulled my head to hers and kissed me. I shoved her, not quite as hard as I could but hard enough. She hit the wall with a scream, as she grabbed for something to hold herself upright, I noticed that the concrete behind her had a Cassandra-shaped indent. I don’t know what she thought was going to happen but I’m sure that this wasn’t it.
“You might want to distance yourself from her. Quickly. Someone is steaming behind you.” Asim sounded a little concerned for our safety, not Cassandra’s.
“I felt her getting close. Please tell me that she wasn’t in the room when Cass kissed me?” I could only imagine how angry Thea was behind me, and that’s if she got here to see Cass force herself on me. “If all she saw was us kissing and then me shoving her, she might think that I only pushed her because Thea came in.”
