Desire: A LitRPG Adventure (Volume 2), page 4
Vincent looked at Dragon as he said, “How much time is left?”
Dragon looked down at the multiple holograms hovering around him. He read them off to Vincent, “Ten minutes left on the low tier territories. five hours and ten minutes left on the mid tier territories.”
Vincent shook his head as he said, “I can’t save the low tier territories. Fortunately, they’re cheap.”
Dragon frowned. His words sounded like he could save all of the mid tier territories? He mused to himself, “He should be out of blood.”
Vincent laughed as he noticed Dragon’s expression, “Haha, Dragon, don’t underestimate me.”
Vincent’s face became solemn as he reached out his hand. It disappeared into a small portal. Dragon’s eyes widened in surprise, “Don’t tell me…”
“Exactly as you suspected.” Vincent pulled out a massive glass container. It was big enough to contain a small house. Inside was bright red blood and it was completely filled to the brim. The top of the container was open as a massive amount of blood flew into the air and formed fifteen more clones.
They dispersed and flew towards the mid tier territories around China. Vincent laughed, “Haha, time for round 2!”
Dragon shook his head as he witnessed this. Unfortunately, he was barred from purchasing a clone ability. It was incompatible with unity. His frustration grew at his helplessness. He was strong, true, but he couldn’t be in more than one location at once.
Vincent took this chance when his clones weren’t fighting to ask a question that confused him, “Why didn’t you purchase defenses for your territories?”
“Haaah,” Dragon released a long breath. Looking back, it was indeed true that he hadn’t purchased any servants to defend his territory. His voice was low as said one word, “Arrogance.”
“Ah, I see now.” Vincent slapped his knee as he laughed, “Hahaha, you thought having 100 million weaklings would be enough!”
Vincent’s words stabbed through Dragon’s pride. However, he could offer no rebuttal. He glanced at Vincent, “Were you always this unbridled?”
Vincent fell silent at Dragon’s question. He decided to answer honestly, “No. Before the tattoo, I had to reign myself in. After all, every human was pretty much equal in power. However, now that I stand at the top…”
“How ugly,” Dragon shook his head.
“Perhaps, but I am who I am.” At this time, Vincent’s clones once more engaged in combat. He shut his eyes as he concentrated.
The night was long as Anubis and Demon fought battle after battle. In the end, Vincent had defended all of the mid tier territories. He was able to send out clone after clone due to his monstrous recovery stat and the blood he had in stock.
Chapter 65
In modern day China, almost 60% of the population lives in an urban environment. The rest live in small towns across the land. In one town near the border of southwest China, a teenager was carrying freshly picked rice in a sack on his back. He was walking along the path towards the village. He made this walk multiple times a day, and had grown strong and fit doing so. He was so familiar with the route that he could probably do it with his eyes closed.
His eyes were focused on a rock that he kept kicking forward. This was an activity he did to help pass the time. He once more kicked the rock, except this time it flew into someone else’s leg. Startled, he looked up and noticed a foreigner. He was bewildered at the sight of seeing a dark skinned person, but the teachings of his father quickly took over. He bowed, “I’m sorry. I didn’t see you there.”
The foreigner laughed and waved their hands, “Haha, don’t worry about it.”
The teenager straightened his back and inspected the features of the foreigner. Their skin was dark, and he guessed they must have been from the middle east. On their forehead was the tattoo of a sun. The teenager smiled as he said, “What brings you all the way out here?”
“Oh,” The foreigner’s eyes became filled with reverence as they clasped their hands, “I have traveled far and wide to spread word of a living god. Have you heard of the name Ra?”
The teenager inwardly felt irritated when he noticed the expression on the foreigner’s face. He felt even more irritated once he realized this was just a traveling preacher. However, when the word Ra entered his ears, his thoughts turned sluggish. It was like a magic word that disturbed his line of thinking. His eyes became unfocused as he muttered, “Ra… Ra…? Ra!”
Out of nowhere, the vague image of a tattoo appeared on the teenager’s forehead. It almost looked like a sun. The foreigner continued, “Yes, Ra. He blesses us with his presence, and leads us all towards a utopia. He is the one true savior.”
As the gospel of the foreigner continued, the tattoo of the sun solidified. Eventually, the teenager’s eyes became focused and filled with reverence. He dropped the basket of rice on the ground as he clasped his hands, “I will follow Ra until the end of the world.”
“Good, good.” The foreigner traveled along the path towards the village, “We must spread the word to the others. Soon, all shall know of Ra.”
“Yes, you’re right.” The teenager followed alongside the foreigner.
Scenes like this were happening all over rural China. As more people were converted, the conversion rate became faster and faster. However, not everyone was converted. One of the wisest men in a village was over 70 years old. He had lived a long life full of hardship and tribulations. Surrounding him was what he considered his neighbors and family. All of them had the tattoo of the sun on their forehead. He was bewildered at the strange scene before him, but he mustered his courage to try and knock some sense into them, “What’s gotten into all of you? Within a few hours you all believe in the god Ra? Is this some cruel joke?”
The crowd clasped their hands and chanted, “Ra… Ra… Ra…”
A dark skinned figure stepped forward, separating himself from the crowd. The old man narrowed his eyes and pointed, “You! What have you done to them!? Some foul magic from the tattoo?”
The foreigner shook his head as he witnessed the unsuccessful conversion, “You have committed a grave sin for disobeying the will of Ra. Everyone, kill him.”
The crowd stepped forward and surrounded the old man. His heart gripped in fear as he noticed his children and grandchildren among the crowd. The foreigner chuckled as he witnessed the crowd beat the old man to death.
……
Meanwhile, on top of the pyramid in Egypt, Ra was sitting cross legged. His eyes were closed in concentration as his mind was connected to his followers abroad. He nodded in satisfaction at the quick rate of conversion. He felt his strength increase continuously. His shadow rippled as Anubis stepped out of it. He collapsed to the ground next to Ra and gasped for breath. Ra opened his eyes and looked over. He frowned at Anubis’ appearance, “What’s wrong?”
Anubis took a moment to recover before replying, “The mission was going well. I was successfully taking over territory after territory. However, Demon arrived. He is strong. He prevented me from taking over the mid tier territories.”
“Demon?” Ra’s frown deepened at the unexpected name, “What’s he doing in China? I thought they were allied with Europe?”
“I don’t know,” Anubis shook his head, “Perhaps we don’t know as much as we thought we did.”
Ra nodded in agreement, “This seems to be because we isolated ourselves. I’m the one to blame for this.”
Anubis looked at Ra as he continued, “I still successfully made the Black Dragon guild pull back all of their members.”
“Haha, I noticed. There were hardly any tattoo users in rural China. I am gaining strength incredible fast.” Ra was filled with elation. Even as they spoke, he was gaining more and more followers. The population of China was working in his favor.
Ra looked towards the north west as he mused aloud, “I wonder how Mogtar is doing…”
Anubis looked towards the north west as well, “He should be close to Beastmaster by now.”
……..
Meanwhile, in the United Kingdom, there was a large forest named Galloway Forest. It was known as the biggest forest in the United Kingdom. The strongest female user of Europe, Ana the Beastmaster, was known to train here. The ability that made her famous was the summoning ability. What was strange about her was that even though she could have more than one companion, she only used one. However, this didn’t make her weaker. The bond she had developed with her wolf, Asena, was incredible intimate.
Deep in the forest, a black wolf slept on the ground. This black wolf was Asena, the companion of Ana. The most striking feature about Asena was her ice blue pupils and massive size. On top of Asena slept Ana. The forest was peaceful and quiet. Ana declared the forest as her territory, and the only people who were allowed inside were Ana and Asena. The population of England could only consent to her demand.
Suddenly, Asena’s ears twitched. She opened her eyes and raised her head. She had sensed something coming closer to them. She opened her mouth and spoke, “Ana, wake up. Someone is coming.”
“Aaahhhh, let me sleep fifteen more minutes.” Ana flipped over as she buried her head into Asena’s fur.
Asena rolled her eyes as she stood up and shook her body. Ana rolled off and hit the ground. Her eyes snapped open as she shouted, “We’re under attack! Who is it?”
She stood up and looked around, eying the treeline for any monsters. Asena shook her head at the sight as she continued, “Like I said, someone is coming. I can sense malicious intent, and even bloodlust.”
“Hm?” Asena and Ana looked towards the sky, noticing a green figure approaching from the east.
Chapter 66
Mogtar landed in front of Ana and Asena. Ana furrowed her brows as she recalled what Ice Queen informed her of not long ago. She inspected the orc as she said, “Your name doesn’t happen to be Mogtar, does it?”
“Haha, you’ve heard of me?” Mogtar expected this, but he still felt honored to know that his opponents spoke about him. He nodded, “Right, my name is Mogtar. It is an honor to battle you this day.”
“Damn,” Ana spat in disdain, “of course that bitch would lie to us. She said she killed you.”
Mogtar shivered as he recalled almost being frozen to death, “Yes, it was close. Fortunately, my body is very resilient.”
Mogtar bent his knees as a glint of bloodlust appeared in his eyes. He roared as qi exploded from his body, “Let’s fight!”
Asena shivered in fear, she could sense the vast amount of power that was inside Mogtar’s body. Before, she sensed nothing. But now, it was like a dam that had broken open. She jumped in front of Ana and growled, “Leave quickly! He’s too strong, we won’t survive!”
Ana couldn’t sense her enemies strength like Asena could, but she felt conflicted about fleeing. She trusted Asena’s senses, but didn’t Ice Queen almost kill this guy? Why would she run? However, even if this orc was crazy powerful, she still wouldn’t abandon Asena. Asena realized this and cried out, “You foolish girl! You can revive me with points, but if you die, it’s over!”
“Just shut up already, I can’t leave you to die.” Ana and Asena were like sisters, their bond crossed the gap between species.
At this time, Mogtar disappeared. The wind cracked and boomed as he instantly appeared in front of Asena. His fist shot out as it pierced through her chest, blowing her backwards. Asena knocked into Ana as they flew backwards, blasting through tree after tree.
Their momentum slowed to a stop after being knocked hundreds of feet backwards. Ana spat out a mouthful of blood as she struggled to stand up. Her eyes widened in shock as she looked towards Asena on the ground. Her chest was caved inwards as blood poured out of the hole in her chest. Ana quickly took out a high tier health potion and poured it down Asena’s mouth.
1,000,000
A high tier health potion. Heals all minor and major wounds.
“Come on, come on, quickly!” Ana’s heart was gripped in fear as she looked down at the massive puddle of blood. Suddenly, the wound started to close. Blood was regenerated, bones were mended, and skin regrown. A few moments later, Asena stood up good as new. She looked in fear towards the direction of Mogtar, “We need to flee, quickly!”
Ana shook her head, “Impossible. That orc is too fast.”
Asena turned her head, her Ice blue eyes looking straight at Ana, “Then I’ll draw his attention away, you try and flee!”
“Silly girl, you’re grasping at straws.”Ana sighed as she rubbed Asena’s head, “There’s only one thing we can do.”
Asena’s eyes widened as she realized what Ana meant, “No way. You know what happens to you when you use that ability. It isn’t ready yet.”
Ana chuckled as she hugged Asena, “Do we really have a choice?”
Asena let out a sigh, “I suppose not.”
Their faces grew solemn as Asena’s body dispersed into motes of light. They traveled into Ana’s body. Ana clasped her head in pain, “Ahhhhh!”
Her body began to grow larger and larger. Black fur grew all over her body as her muscles became denser and stronger. Her ears became longer and her eyes turned ice blue. Long claws grew on her fingers and feet. Her back became hunched. Suddenly, she raised her head and howled, “Awwooooooo!”
This was a new ability that was created when her high tier summoning and high tier body transformation combined. It allowed her to combine with her companion, turning her into something not human. She had become a werewolf! The only problem was that her intelligence wasn’t high enough to combat the intense bestial instincts that came with the ability.
At this time, Mogtar was slowly walking towards Ana. He was giving her time to recover and use her strongest ability. This was his code. As he watched this transformation happen, his eyes lit up, “I’ve never seen this before. Some branch of body transformation?”
At this time, Ana lowered her head and looked at Mogtar. She felt powerful, like she could take on anything. She became confused as to why they were thinking of running away from such a small orc. Smirking, she lowered her body and prepared for battle.
Mogtar decided to play it safe against the unknown. He expanded his qi as he used his sensory field. It encompassed Ana even though she was over a hundred feet away. It was by far much larger than Ace’s sensory field in the past.
Suddenly, dirt was kicked up as Ana’s body disappeared. Mogtar’s eyes widened in surprise as he exclaimed, “Her speed increased multiple times over!”
Her speed was just as fast as Mogtar’s had been when he punched Asena backwards. Mogtar’s face grew solemn. The skin on his body rippled as black scales replaced his skin. It was more accurate to say the skin had turned into scales.
At this time, Ana appeared on Mogtar’s side. She swiped out with her claws. Long gashes were left in Mogtar’s body, but they weren’t deep. As Ana was still in the motion of swinging her claws, Mogtar reached out with his hand. He was a bit delayed because of Ana’s speed, but it still wasn’t enough. His hand clasped around her wrist as he squeezed tightly. CRACK!
Ana howled in pain as she leaned her head in and opened her mouth. She now had terrifying fangs that would easily pierce through his scales. Qi exploded out from Mogtar’s body as he released his grip. Ana was knocked backwards from the blast. At the same time, Mogtar dashed forward, taking this chance to form a spear with his hand. He thrust out, piercing through Ana’s chest. Qi exploded from his hand as it racked through her body, injuring her organs. Ana coughed out a mouthful of blood.
Mogtar withdrew his hand, causing Ana to drop to the ground. He shook his head, “Using speed against me is not the best idea.”
Ana’s body began to shrink as her fur disappeared. A moment later, her body returned to normal. However, her wrist was mangled and a massive gaping hole was in her chest. Her heart had been completely destroyed. However, she was still alive. Her eyes were unfocused, and she was unconscious, but she was alive. Mogtar noticed this and nodded, “Her stamina must be pretty high.”
His hand formed into a fist as he smashed downwards. A hologram appeared, notifying him of how many points he had gained.
Notice
You have gained 150,353,649 points.
Mogtar shook his head as he was reminded of the great wars that destroyed his world, “Damn it all.”
Chapter 67
Days went by without the citizens of Europe realizing that Ana, the beastmaster, had died. Afterall, it was usual for her to disappear for days in the forest and train. She was a solitary person and hated being interrupted. After a week, one of her family members contacted her through telepathy and realized that something was wrong. Usually when you used telepathy, you felt a strange connection with the other person. However, this time, the connection wasn’t even able to form. They informed experts in Europe that were familiar with Ana and asked them to investigate. A day later, they found her corpse in Galloway Forest.
