Ahmose, page 9
Ahmose, looking disappointed at having to let her go; finally released her from his hold. Quickly crawling across the bed, she got down and walked into the bathroom shutting the door behind her. Ahmose smirked when he heard the lock flip into place.

Rachael, feeling that she needed a time to get a handle on everything. Went into the bathroom, taking advantage of the toiletries there she cleaned herself. Letting that hot water wash away her worry and small fears.
She wasn’t the type of woman who flip-flopped in her decision making. Honestly, while she’d basically taken a hold of this new adventure with both hands. There were a few things she still felt blind to, it was clear that Ahmose felt some connection to her. But if she was getting everything right, it all stemmed from his ability to feed from her. Not because he genuinely liked her, she was the first women who answered his call.
Somewhere down deep that hurt, if another woman had been there and had been a better source of energy. She’d have ended her pathetic trip that morning and returned to the states. Sighing, she reached up to turn the knob. With a squeaky sound she let the water shut off, turning she slide the door open and grabbed her towel.
Either she’d decided to help, it wasn’t such a sacrifice. Another thing she’d try out, before she returned to her mundane life of being stuck in the dusty realm of books beneath her university.
Her mom…Her mom!
Rachael ran out of the bathroom, only the towel wrapped around herself. Her panic immediately got Ahmose attention as she’d slammed the door open, steam bellowing out. “I need to call my mom!” she announced, at a near shriek.

Rachael, changed into clean clothes and hair in better order stood in the corner of Altons office arguing with her mom on her borrowed cell.
“I told you 48 hours!”
Rachael winced as her mother growled at her on the phone. “Right, and-and I know you did, but something got in the way, and I-,” “No excuses, you will meet your Uncle Tony in Berlin, or I will be flying to you…don’t make me have to find you.” While she knew her, mom would be hard pressed to find her, she would still try.
Frustrated, she tried to convince her mom that it would be better to wait for her. “Mom, I know you’re worried, but I really, really can’t leave what I’m doing now,” “Rachael Carey Watson,” her mother voice had grown smooth and with no emotion. Rachael stiffened. “I’ve just booked a flight to Berlin, if you are not there when I arrive you will be sorry.”
The phone clicked off, the beeping sound as much of a taunt as the silence from the other side of the room. Blankly staring at the phone, Rachael said, “I…have to be in Berlin tomorrow…” she gave view to her stiff expression to the three males, “Can we get to Berlin from here?”
Chapter Sixteen
It turned out they did have a way of getting her to Berlin. A private jet, and a crew to fly it. Both which spoke of wealth that Rachael would never be able to fully wrap her head around. Still, she wouldn’t damn it. Especially when it would be getting her to her angry mother.
The only problem would be the story she told. How could she tell her mother that she’d saved a super human form ocean waters, and now somehow, she was his…Amouri? Emorisa? Even she didn’t fully understand what that fully meant. Was it like a wife? Girlfriend?
A larger hand rested atop hers, pulling her from her spinning thoughts. Meeting the deep bronze colored eyes that showed only worry and concern for her. Rachael felt herself smile reassuringly.
“Are you scared to meet your mother?” Ahmose asked.
She shook her head laughing slightly, “No, my mother is intense, but she can be reasoned with. She’s only acting like this because she’s worried about me.” Rachael shrugged, “It comes with her job I guess.”
“Job?” He asked, twisting a bit so that he faced her. “She’s a…” his brow tensed as he expression turned thoughtful, “A cop?”
“Sort of, more like their boss,” Rachael said with humor, “Me and my sisters, weren’t the girls who could get away with anything. She could sniff it out the minute we came into the room.”
Not realizing she’d smiled fondly at the memory, Rachael relaxed against her seat and sighed. “Honestly, don’t know how she did it. We really didn’t make it easy for her.”
Ahmose could feel the warmth of affection that Rachael felt for her mother. In his mind’s eye he saw a stern-faced woman, who looked similar to Rachael only her features were a bit rounder. And when she smiled she appeared to be the nicest person. Seeing her memories of her mother, Ahmose wondered at his own memories of his mother.
Her face had become blurry with time, while he knew who his father had been, and he knew he’d loved his mother. Their faces had faded, even with his Kehmetian memory they no longer remained. Leaning over he comforted himself by leaning against his Emorisa.

Once they landed, Rachael having kept Ahmose calm when the plane had rattled a bit. Now she glanced at the large clock on the wall. Their flight had taken a two-days’ time, which still didn’t give her a clue as to where they’d flied from.
Walking hand, and hand with Ahmose she felt a bit more reassured that she could meet her mother in safety.
Exiting, the airport she spotted a man holding a sign with ‘Alton's’ name on it. “Ah, that’s us.”
Moving over to him, she waved, “Hi! Are you here for Rachael Watson?”
The man wore a bit of roguish smile, as he lifted a hand to remove his ray bans. She realized he was also handsome, the flecks of bronze immediately let her know he was a Kehmet. Ahmose stepped up, gently applying pressure to her side. “Yeah, I was told to pick up a pretty lady and a-,” he trailed off meeting Ahmose eyes.
Her Kehmet wasn’t happy with the way the other male’s eyes traced over her body appreciatively. “- Elder…ah, I see you two are…” he nodded backing up a step and replacing his glasses. “Well, let me Reign Stien, take you to your destination.”
Elbowing Ahmose, Rachael smiled, “Thanks!”
All three of them got in, Rachael and Ahmose in the back. Where Ahmose proceeded to claim Rachael’s lips in clear show of possessiveness. The naughty bastard.
Clearing his throat, Reign avoided the man’s stare and rolled the partition up. He would later tear Alton another hole, the ass hadn’t told him he was picking up an Ancient and his Amourite.

“Ahmose, I have to go in alone.” Rachael insisted for the fourth time she really couldn’t have him come in with her. Especially when she hadn’t told her mother anything about him. She shook her head, glaring up at the man who seemed intent on coming in to the townhouse with her. She shook her head, “Look, you’ll be right out here with Reign…I’m sure I’ll be fine, not only that once I’ve calmed my mother down I’ll call you both in.”
“I do not like this Emorisa,” Ahmose couldn’t shake the feeling something was wrong. Yet, even with his great ability nothing appeared out of the ordinary and yet…He shook his head, “I will go in with you.”
“No,” Rachael voice grew hard. Her eyes darkening, “Look, I understand that I’m important to you, but this is my mom and uncle, this place is fine, and nothing will happen. I’ll call you in once I’ve spoken to them, both.”
Brow creasing, as he struggled to let her go. He found himself giving in when she lifted a palm and placed it against his cheek, “Please, Ahmose trust me.”
Covering her hand, he frowned down at her, “I trust you my Emorisa it is others I do not trust.”
“Um, can I be of help here?” Reign voice cut in, he glanced around the street where people passing by were shooting Rachael and Ahmose weird looks from their dramatic conversation. “This,” he lifted a black bock shaped item, that fit in the palm of his hand. “It’s a switch blade,” he smirked when Rachael gave him an unimpressed look, “It has a tracker in it.”
Blinking at this, Rachael moved away from Ahmose taking it she looked over before lifting up her coat and shirt to shove it into the band of her pants. “Thanks.” Turning her attention back to Ahmose she lifted on the toes of her sneakers and pressed a kiss to his cheek. “See, if something happens you’ll be able to find me.” Dropping down, she smiled, “But don’t worry nothing will happen. Plus, you should be more worried about meeting my mom.
With that she quickly walked across the street and giving a look around as she disappeared from sight as she pushed the gate open to enter the front yard of the red brick house.
A slap on his shoulder, had Ahmose jerked his head around. The man who’d driven them smirked, “Don’t worry, we’ve already checked that house out…it’s secure.” Hearing this Ahmose felt himself relax just a bit.

Knocking on the door, Rachael felt a shudder as sa cool wind passed by rustling the leaves of the trees that lined the property. From where she stood she could still see Reign, and Ahmose. It was odd how she felt almost lost after leaving Ahmose’s side. She was usually a very independent person, yet something felt off now that she wasn’t glued to his side.
The door opened, and she turned around to meet a warm greeting from her Uncle Tony. He grasped her tight to him. He was a man of average height, dark cocoa skin and features that had kept his wife of ten years on her toes. With a flash of white teeth, he pulled back and looked her over. “Well if Little Ray-ray hasn’t grown to be fine woman.”
She rolled her eyes at that, giving him an exasperated look. “Unc, you saw me last year I haven’t changed much.”
He gave her a once over, crossing his arms. “Mmm, no but Rochelle told me I can’t say what I’m thinking to you youngins.”
Her eyes narrowed she walked in slightly pushing past him, look around his house she glanced at him over her shoulder. “Moms not here yet?”
Not getting an answer, Rachael glanced over her shoulder only to fully turn around. A black figure held a knife pressed against her Uncles throat, the glint was more real than anything else even as the shadow thing fluctuated. Time seemed to slow as the distant clock stopped ticking all together.
Her uncle skin was sweaty, and he didn’t move but she could see the message in his eyes. Run! And she would have, if a voice hadn’t stopped her short.
A woman entered the hallway, her lips pursed, and steel grey hair cut short just to her chin. “I wouldn’t do that if I was you,” she looked from her Uncle to Rachael whose eyes arrowed on her. “This could become a lot messier than it should,” she glanced over her shoulder.
Rachael followed her line of sight, what she saw had her running forward, “Mom!”
Two arms clamped down around her, struggling she cursed as she kicked back. Her Body jerking hard against the man who’d caught her. “Let me go!”
Her mother was tied to a chair, a clear wound on her forehead that had a trail of blood leaving it. Someone had hit her mother, Rachael could feel her anger growing. Her eyes brightened flickering gold, before settling back to brown, as her fury stirred up the changes in her body. “Let her go!” She bared her teeth at the stranger.
Releasing a sigh, the woman looked at someone behind her. “Clemmons, collar her.”
Rachael stiffened as something silver was brought to her from another guard. Shaking her head, she kicked out, causing the soldier to releasee a grunt. She cried out when he slammed his fist into her stomach, gasping she gritted her teeth against the sensation of throwing up.
The cold collar was locked on her neck. “All we need from you is the man you’ve matched with,” the tone of voice showed disgusted. Rachael lifted her head fighting against the pain in her stomach.
“Please…let…go,” she pleaded but she felt herself lifted and carried out the back way. Before she could build up a fight again a black bag was shoved over her head.
“Aset, take her to the ship!” Georgette snapped at the moving shadow.
The knife drew back, the handle slamming into the neck of the man in his hold. Moving over the woman, Aset easily took her from the taller male. With a nod at Georgette, he disappeared with the Rachael, woman.
Sending a look around, Georgette turned her back to the scene, “We’re done here.” She and her crew left through the back.
The time resetting the tick of the wall clock beginning once again.

One-minute Reign was leaning against his car waiting for the Amorite; the next the Elders entire demeanor shifted to a stony silence. As if a weight had been reapplied, eyes that had been dark brown now filled with bronze. As far as Reign had known the man, three hours; the male had been light in expression and mannerisms except when he’d thought Reign had the hots for his woman.
His stature stiffened, and stance becoming more like something that suited a general. For a heavy minute he didn’t say anything. Reign flinched when with a flash of white light, he stood at the door along with the Elder who hands grabbed the door handle, pulling the door off its hinges. Entering he looked from the knocked-out male on the floor to the woman tied to the chair.
“She’s been taken,” the words were spoken with no feeling. He glanced at Reign, “It seems you both were wrong, I should have gone with my instinct. If I had not been influenced by her I would have known this to be a trap.”
Reign catching on, moved deeper into the house pulling his cell out to alert Alton of the situation. “You’ve been cut off from your Amourite.”
Ahmose gave jerky nod. Rachael was naturally positive person, her characteristics called for a man of Nobel nature with knight like attribute, he’d eagerly been something better than who he truly was. A cold man, known for his nature by the others. He’d been one of the many specialized soldiers, who’d managed to escape their planet all the years ago. His tribe had begun dehumanizing them as the war had gone own, his own father had been the leader in the project.
While some Kehmet’s hated losing their character when they found their suitable Amouri, Ahmose eagerly wished to be something else, anything else other than the man he’d been. When he reclaimed his Amouri, he would return to that man she believed him to be. Even though with regained strength, and perspective he wouldn’t fall so deep as before.
“Have her mother and uncle brought to the secret facility,” he ordered as he turned to leave.
“What about you?” Reign called, chasing after him.
The corner of his lip lifted, as he was slowly swallowed in light. “I’ve family that can help hunt down the infidels.”
With that he disappeared.

The steady sound of an alarm going off is what awoke Rachael. The sack of black cloth steal covered her head, but it didn’t take a genius to know that she wasn’t in Kansas anymore. The rolling sensation clued her in first. They must have brought her to the ship. The alarm was loud and drilled into her head. Rachael felt a head ache building behind her eyelids as she slowly moved to see how much space she had.
Her hands had been tied behind her back, she pulled at the restraints realizing that they were plastic. Probably similar to the ones used on rioting students, her back ached but she couldn’t stay where she was and do nothing.
The minute she thought this something slammed against the wall, which she assumed had to be a door. Once she heard people entering the room she had been put in, she tried to move by lifting up but her arms were roughly grabbed and she was jerked to a sitting position.
The sack over her head was ripped off and she winced as the light blinded her immediately. Squeezing her eyes against it she slowly breathed in and out of her nose, trying to still the fear she felt.
She hadn’t felt this scared at all during this entire chase. For some reason she felt more alone than ever before.
As she felt the sting in her eyes wane, she attempted to open her eyes again this time able to see the three guards and their hard expressions. Her eyes drifted from them to the woman who stood in front of her in a charcoal A-line skirt, and a simple button up top. Her steel colored hair, was clipped at her chin and her odd light-colored eyes held little to no warmth. Her pale skin held no mar, she appeared washed out almost.
“Ms. Watson,” her voice was smooth, and held no distinct accent. Rachael eyes narrowed, she knew her name? “My name, is Geogette Hamil and I want to know if you are willing to help us in our effort to regain AH701?”
“What?! No!” Rachael said confused by her question. Only her denial turned into a cry of pain, when the guard standing next to her reached over and slapped her. Rachael gritted her teeth against the pain that radiated across her face. Blinking hard, she jerked her head up glaring at the offender.
Hamil spoke again, capturing Rachael’s attention once more. “Will you help us?”
Spitting the blood accumulating in her mouth at the woman’s feet, Rachael lifted her chin glaring at the bitch. “No, I won’t! Look, you’re obviously a few cards short of a full deck-Agh!” Rachael cried out, when a hand gripped her hair and jerked her head back.
“Enough!” Hamil snapped, stopping the soldier short from punching Rachael once more. She moved her hard eyes to Rachael; whose chest rose with each harsh breath. “You would rather help a stranger, than your own people. While I’m aware you are his Amourite, I cannot understand how you managed to awaken him. None of our bags have ever awoken aside, from those we’ve awoken. otherwise we are able to farm their parts without issue.”
“Farm their parts?” Rachael repeated, her brow creasing as her sharp mind caught onto that last bit. She jerked her head from the guards hold, “…What are you doing with all the Kehmets?”
The woman stiffened as if finally realizing she’d said something she shouldn’t. Her lips worked, the first sign of emotion that Rachael had ever seen from her. “Since it isn’t likely you’ll be leaving any time soon, I don’t see why I shouldn’t tell you.” She muttered under her voice, Rachael stiffened at the idea of never leaving.
