“Okay, are we all ready?” I asked as I looked around.
“Oh, my god, wait,” Elaine said suddenly.
“What?” I asked.
“I forgot something, I’ll be right back,” the tanned woman said, and she dashed off to the bedroom.
“How could she forget anything? We barely unpacked,” Mary said with a chuckle.
“Hope she’s fast,” Laura said anxiously.
“I’m sure it’s all fine,” I reassured the blonde.
“Yeah, don’t worry,” Mary said.
A few minutes later, Elaine emerged from the bathroom, and her eyes were rimmed with tears.
“Elaine, what’s wrong?” I asked as my heart skipped a beat.
Elaine took a deep breath, and then her face broke into a wide smile as she held up a thin white stick.
“I’m pregnant.”

Cast of Characters from Book 7:
Owen Clancy: Human. Former FBI agent. Wild, scraggly gray hair and beard. Brown eyes. He spent many years trying to hunt down Bannister but eventually suffered a mental breakdown and was forced to retire.
Miles: Human. A contact of Director Samburne. Long white hair and beard. He’s worked for the Bureau for years and is able to replicate the magical artifacts down to the slightest detail. He also happens to be Sammy’s uncle twice removed.
