A big shout-out to my book club gals – Danielle, Tiff, Lynne, Carolyn, Helen, Renate, Isabel, Mikal, Belinda and Gemma. I love our get-togethers and thought-provoking debates. It was a historical novel we read in our early days that formed my love of the genre and inspired me to write. I hope you enjoy my book.

To all the self-published authors out there … I see you. Rejection isn’t easy, but your stories matter and deserved to be read. Don’t give up.

For my editor, Jane Smith. I loved working with you and learning from your insightful expertise. And thank you to Nada Backovic for designing a beautiful cover and being patient with my multiple changes.

Finally, thank you to my family. My mother for always encouraging me, and my late father for inspiring me to strive for a better world. Martina … you are the glue that holds our family together. My three beautiful kids for always keeping me on my toes … I love you more than you’ll ever know, and my husband for always believing in me. Without you, I couldn’t do any of this.

If you enjoyed A Dangerous Land, please leave a review. They make all the difference for self-published authors. And if you would like to keep up to date with my next book, A Forgotten Land, visit my website www.marisajonesbooks.com.
