Jet Black and the Escape from Culver City #1

Disillusionment can be a great motivator, and when the only way out is up Jet learns that friends can be found in the most unlikely of places: that a courier service is much more than delivering parcels and that diamonds are everyone's best friends. This is the first book in the Jet Black series.Disillusionment can be a great motivator, and when the only way out is up Jet learns that friends can be found in the most unlikely of places: that a courier service is much more than delivering parcels and that diamonds are everyone's best friends. In the Company Wars Chronicles I have a character called Alan P. Ellis. Alan is portrayed as an arrogant and self-important writer, who is the author of a series of books about Jet Black. The idea was to depict Jet Black as a kind of Flash Gordon or Buck Rogers; the kind of over the top character that gets into fanciful and implausible situations. But as anyone who writes will know our characters sometimes refuse to act the way we intended them to, and it occurred to me long after I had introduced Alan that by making Jet into a far-fetched character gave me the opportunity to use a few what if situations I had at the back of my mind without taking the stories too seriously. Jet may have started as a joke, but it seems Alan has had the last laugh.

Mutiny

John Stevenson

Fiction / Poetry / Horror

As Earthrise gets closer to the Sun both the heat and tensions are rising. Discipline is falling apart; rumour fuels fear, and both crew and visitors are losing faith in decisions that have been made. Now Andrew has to face the mob before Earth leaves them behind.Part One - Catcher McCall - Regrets and Rescue chronicled the events in Af-fucking-ghanistan, which culminates in inadvertently saving the life of a U.S. Congressman that warrants Catcher McCall to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor. Because of accepting the reluctant prize, the public's fascination catapults Catcher McCall to be a candidate for the presidency of the United States. What happened next is truer than fiction. As William Faulkner said, "The best fiction is far more true than any journalism."Part Two - I’m Catcher McCall: War hero, Congressional Medal of Honor recipient, and candidate for the presidency of the United States. Why and how it happened makes telling the truth a revolutionary act. Indeed, truth is not obligated to conform to possibilities, and instead changes with time and convention. Famous Catcher McCall quotes in the context of being a candidate for the presidency. Catcher McCall ... Outsider is presented as a modern day epic in three volumes: Catcher McCall - Regrets and Rescue, Catcher McCall - Respect and Betrayal and Catcher McCall - Lost and Return. Volume Four - Catcher McCall vs. Wall Street is scheduled for release on April 1, 2013.______________

There are many options to end the World, but it’s always someone; someplace far away who will. Someone who we can't control; it will be these distant people who will set the stage for Armageddon: but suppose it wasn’t, but instead that each one of us was given a choice in our own destruction; if each one of us inadvertently, and individually set the stage for total World annihilation. There are many options to end the World, but it’s always someone; someplace far away who will. Someone who we as individuals can't control; it will be these distant people who will set the stage for Armageddon. In our powerlessness situation the greatest fear is that it will be us who are the cannon fodder or victims: but suppose it wasn’t; but instead that each one of us was given a choice in our own destruction; if each one of us inadvertently, and individually set the stage for total World annihilation.
