Their reunion becomes dangerous when Missy's fiancé invites them to test out his new invention.The Egg-Shaped Room :oR: Blood on Mouth and Mourning Dress, part of the Floating Body series, is about the three Tone siblings whose faces, based on some accident of birth, force people to forget them like hypnosis: Eudaemonia, a professional mourner who is addicted to suffering; Oa, a professional killer who claims to kill only bad people and lives in others' houses like a ghost; and Missy, who sleeps with rich men and uses cosmetic means to force people to remember her. They reunite when Eudaemonia goes to her own father's funeral by accident, but their reunion becomes dangerous when Missy's fiancé invites them to test out his new invention, an egg-shaped room that is supposed to extend the life span to 200 years.

Now the oblivious Tom must navigate the chaos around him -- roots growing from the floor, people turning into gold bugs, a cute dadaist named Hope Lesko-Van Heffenbeuler trying to get his attention -- as the whole building seems to be going through some sort of metamorphosis.
