Luvin' the Son of a Savage 2, page 3
“What the hell is this?”
“Jacinta when you broke her leg, she had to wear a cast and now a brace.” She responded with an attitude.
“Great. Now she’s gonna be a cripple like her aunt.” I sucked my teeth.
WHAP! She smacked fire from my ass. My head spun fast as hell. Everyone knew Armonie had that two messed up leg thing going on. I don’t know why she mad.
“If Aniya wasn’t in your hands, I’d beat your ass.” His mother spat.
“I can just drop her and we can get to fighting.”
“NOOOOOO!” She shouted when I pretended to let her go in the parking lot.
“What do you want Jacinta?” She reached out for Aniya, I pulled the gun out again and her hands went up.
“Your son should’ve never left me. I mean look what he has me doing? Then, he almost kills me because Aniya was being clumsy and tried to roll. If I didn’t catch her, she would’ve had more than a broken leg.” I started walking away.
“Jacinta please give me my grandbaby. I promise to make Colby talk to you.” She cried out.
“As long as I have this child with me, I have no doubt your son will wanna talk.” I saw her security trying his hardest to refrain from shooting me but any time he got closer, I’d hold the gun to Aniya’s head.
The crazy thing is no one appeared to be paying attention and if they were, not one person said a word.
“Don’t shoot her with my grandchild in her arms. What if you miss?” I heard Mrs. Banks yelling. Once I made it to my car, I sat Aniya on my lap, started the engine and sped off. She started crying which made me toss her in the passenger seat.
BOOM! I heard and the crying stopped. I guess the fall made her hit her head. I saw a gash on her forehead as she rolled back and forth. I had no choice but to speed outta there.
********************
It was a long ass night with Aniya. All she did is whine and cry, whine and cry. I gave her a bottle from the bag I snatched from her grandmother when I took her, and she was changed properly. The bitch act liked she didn’t know who I was. I wasn’t about to listen to it all day, so I figured we stop by my abuela’s house today, but I left her bratty ass in the car.
“Where you been Jacinta?” She asked and hugged me.
“Around. Did you cook?”
“Not today. I’m not feeling well. How are you honey?”
“Fine, why?” I stormed in the kitchen and checked the refrigerator for left overs.
“Did you break that baby’s leg?” I heard over my shoulder.
“Is that all you’re worried about?” I slammed the fridge and stared at her.
“You know, I’m your granddaughter too and it would be nice to know someone cares about my well-being instead of the bratty kid in the car. Ughhhh.” I snapped.
“Jacinta is the baby outside?” She turned to go towards the door.
“AHHHHH!” I grabbed her by the hair, tossed her across the room and ran out the house. I can’t have her taking my child too.
I hopped in my car and noticed Aniya trying to get off the ground and kept hitting her head on the glove compartment. This little girl must be tryna walk.
I sat her on the seat and put the seatbelt on. A few seconds later she began to cry and before I knew it, I backhanded the shit outta her. Blood began to come out her nose and mouth.
“Got dammit Aniya. Look what you made me do.” I used her shirt to clean it but it wasn’t working. I pulled up to this lake and took her over to the water.
At first, I cupped my hand to get water and clean her face. She attempted to drink it which pissed me off. Here I am tryna clean her face and she’s drinking it. I sat her next to me and rinsed my hands off before lifting her up to do it again.
“Why couldn’t your dad stay faithful and love me like a good man?” I stared down at my daughter who was a spitting image of his sister’s daughter. I mean they could be identical by how much they resembled each other.
“I loved him so much.” I felt tears racing down my face as I held Aniya under water. Her little arms were swinging, and her feet were kicking.
“If this is the only way to get his attention, then so be it.” I kissed my daughter’s forehead and let her body float away. I stood and began to walk away when two men in a Verizon truck ran past me.
“OH MY GOD!” I heard one yell.
SPLASH! SPLASH! I turned and noticed one guy had jumped in the water and the other was on the phone. When the other guy came out the water with my daughter, you could see both of them trying to revive her.
Outta nowhere people stopped their cars and jumped out to see what the commotion was. I could see sadness on their faces as one of the women started crying.
A smiled graced my face because Colby will now see I’m not playing games with him. He should’ve listened when I said he should’ve loved me because none of this would’ve happened.

“Did you know your daughter was murdered by her mother earlier today?” The news reporter asked Colby outside my mother’s house. He had her by the throat tryna take her life.
“Let her go son. Please. I don’t want you in jail.” I saw his mother on the side of him crying.
“This bitch allowed her to hurt my child. She knew all the bad things Jacinta did. Where is my daughter?” He shook my mom so hard I thought her head would roll off any minute.
“Baby don’t do this. They’re reporting live.” I heard some chick say and moved closer to the television to see who she was.
“Sir, if you don’t let go, I’m gonna shoot.” The camera went from Colby to the cops. A few seconds later, his father pulled him away and my mom hit the ground.
“There’s no way my daughter is gone. NO FUCKING WAY!” He said as the cops placed handcuffs on him.
“Miss, are you the new girlfriend? Did you know his ex would do this?” A reporter placed a camera in her face and I was shocked. The rumors were not only true but the ring on her finger spoke volumes. It can’t be an engagement ring because it hadn’t been long or has it?
“Is this report live?” She asked and even through her tears I could see how beautiful she was.
“Yes.”
“Which camera.” She stopped walking.
“All of them.” She wiped her eyes and stared straight in them. I don’t know why but it felt as if she could see me.
“We know you’re out there Jacinta and you may even be watching so I’m gonna say this. You are well aware who my family is. The Banks and Santiago family will stop at nothing to make sure you’re brought to justice for this heinous act you committed on my stepdaughter.
Stepdaughter? I said out loud.
“Your time will come, and I pray I’m there when it does.” She winked in the camera sending chills through my body.
“Do you think she’s watching? Are you going to be a vigilante?” Questions were thrown at the Brielle bitch and even though she didn’t answer, I knew exactly what she meant. I watched her kiss Colby before they placed him in the police car and all of them pull away.
“He’s getting exactly what he deserved.” My friend said and had me come back to bed.
“You think so?” I asked before he stripped.
“Yup.” That was the end of our conversation because we were both horny and ready to get some frustrations out. He may say it’s good for Colby, but I need to get the fuck outta town and soon.
Colby
I sat in the back of the cop car letting the tears for my daughter fall down my face. How could I be in Aruba enjoying my time, while Aniya was here being murdered by her mother? What kind of father allows his child to receive this pain and isn’t there to stop it?
The things going through my head are nothing compared to how bad I’m gonna torture the fuck outta Jacinta when I get my hands on her.
The cop pulled into the station and I swear the paparazzi must’ve sped here because they damn sure were outside with their cameras ready. I’m not ignorant to the fact they’re here to report a story but damn, they didn’t give me any time to mourn, grieve or even comprehend what in the hell was going on. I needed a moment and right now it seemed impossible.
The officer helped me out the car and escorted me into the police station. I saw Brielle, my parents, and others pulling in. I smiled at the thought of her being in my life and how she loved Aniya as her own but how can I carry on a relationship with the woman who had me in Aruba as my ex hurt my child? She didn’t make me take her, but had I been home, this wouldn’t have happened. The only person I blamed is myself.
“Turn to the side.” The officer in the booking department said. I read the sadness on her face as she did her job. Shit, anyone watching the news, knew what went down.
“Ok. Let me take you down the hall.” She said and opened the door.
“Wait! Don’t you have to take my fingerprints and all that other shit?” I asked.
“Mr. Banks, this is all for show. You know as well as I, your ass ain’t going to jail.” She gave me a smile. I returned the gesture.
“I’m sorry about your daughter.”
“Thank you.” She had me go down a hall, through a few doors and then an office.
“Here you are.” She opened the door and there stood my pops, Haven, my uncle Wolf, uncle Jax and Brielle’s father. I was confused on why they were here.
“What’s going on?” My father walked over first and hugged me. Then my uncles, my cousin and even Brielle’s dad.
“We’re about to take you somewhere but no one and I mean no one can know about this and it’s place.” My uncle Wolf said.
“If I’m gonna be mad, I don’t want to. I have enough going on and...”
“And you will be mad, but you need to go.” My pops said and walked with me out a side door. Haven jumped in the back seat with my cousin Jax, who I didn’t know at first was already in the car. No cameras or spectators were out here, and he had me get down as he pulled off.
“Where’s mom? Is everyone else ok? My nieces and nephews?” I questioned.
“Everyone’s ok. We beefed up security, not that your sister needs it because VJ is obsessed over her.” I had to let out a small laugh.
“Mom left the minute you stepped in the police station. She’s gonna be where we’re going and so will Brielle.” I nodded and asked to stop by a store for Advil. My head was pounding and I’m thirsty as hell. He didn’t wanna make a stop and asked my uncle Wolf to pick it up
“Before you go in, I want you to know I didn’t even know at first, but it had to be done this way.” My pops said pulling down a long road.
“Whatever it is, I can’t be in any more pain then I’m already in.” They all remained quiet. He stopped at this small house resembling a barn. It’s nice and the property looks well-kept but why are we even here? I need to get down to the morgue and identify my baby. Not like I want to but no one else could do it.
“Remember what we talked about.” My pops said and we stepped in. The inside was nice and clean, and you saw some of my family sitting there visibly upset. Two men I’ve never seen before were there as well.
“I’ll introduce you to them in a second.” We walked through the living room and into another room off to the side. My mom, Brielle, Ariel and Mrs. Santiago were all standing around.
“What are y’all doing here?” Brielle turned first, ran over and hugged me tight.
“We’re gonna get her Colby. I swear we are.” I removed her arms from around my neck and focused on the sight in front of me.
Everyone moved out the way and there laid my daughter with an oxygen mask on her face, tubes running through her nose, an IV in her arm, monitors on her chest and a cast on the opposite arm. A white bandage was wrapped around her head and she had on a pink hospital gown with smiley faces on it.
“But how?” I felt a pair of hands on my shoulders as the tears raced down my face.
“Colby these are the two men who saved Aniya.” I turned to see the guys from the other room
“What happened?” I asked still choked up seeing my daughter this way.
“Baby, maybe you should wait until later. Spend time with Aniya.” I snapped my neck at Brielle.
“Don’t you see me here with Aniya? And if I wanna know what happened to my daughter they can tell me.”
“COLBY BANKS. DONT YOU DARE SNAP AT HER!” My mom shouted.
“It’s ok Mrs. Banks. He’s upset and I’m overstepping.” She moved away and I could feel the stares, but I didn’t care.
“Tell me what happened.” They begin to say how they were on a lunch break at the lake when they noticed Jacinta sitting there with the baby. They thought nothing of it until they were about to pull off. Aniya was head first in the water which made them run over. One jumped in the water while the other called the police. They performed CPR on my daughter and saved her. Unfortunately, she was without oxygen too long for a child her age and slipped into a coma.
“Thank you for saving her. I will compensate you...”
“No need. As long as we know she’s alive that’s all that matters. Just make sure her mother suffers a horrible fate for tryna take this baby’s life.” Both guys gave me a man hug and stepped out the room. I looked at my pops and he let me know he handled it.
“Let’s give him some time alone.” Everyone stepped out but one person. I didn’t bother turning around, pulled a chair up next to Aniya and grabbed her hand.
“Daddy is never leaving you again. I’m so sorry this happened to you.” I rested my head on the bed.
“Is it ok if I wash her?” Brielle asked. I nodded because it’s all I could do. Seeing my daughter this way had me in a dark place.
Brielle left the room and returned with one of those pink basins from the hospital, the lavender baby wash, a small wash cloth and a different set of pajamas. She put the basin on the bed, removed Aniya’s gown and started washing her. She was very gentle and made sure to be careful around Aniya’s arm and leg.
“Mrs. Banks can you pass me the baby powder?” Brielle asked when she walked back in. She was probably making sure I wasn’t snapping on her again.
“Colby let me speak to you for a minute.” My mom took my hand and led me out the room and out the back door. My father stepped out two seconds later.
“First off, I wanna apologize for not being able to protect Aniya better. Security was there and she pulled the gun out. I was too scared to let him shoot because I thought Aniya would get hit. Colby I’m sorry and if you don’t want to forgive me, I understand.” She started crying.
“Ma, I would never blame you. I know how much you love all your grandkids.” I hugged her.
“Jacinta knew how you’d react which is why she probably had the gun in the first place. She’s been around long enough to know about the security we had. Ma, please don’t blame yourself. This is not on you.” She moved away and wiped her eyes
“I wanna kill Jacinta myself.” My father held her and sent her back in after getting it together.
“Son, you can’t take it out on Brielle either.” My pops said passing me the blunt.
“I’m not trying too. I know she wasn’t here but what if I didn’t take her on vacation this would’ve never happened. I was so busy tryna love her, I fucked up and let this happen.”
“Whether it happened now or not, Jacinta knew exactly what she was doing. She’s sick in the head Colby.”
“If I were here and not in Aruba...” I tried to say and was cut off.
“I’m sorry this happened to Aniya, but I will not sit around and let you blame being with me as the reason it did.” Brielle said behind me. I didn’t know she was standing there.
“I love your daughter too Colby and I’m hurting just as much, but if you having me in your life is a distraction, then it’s best if I leave you alone.”
“It’s probably best. I got too much going on and we won’t see one another anyway.” She stood in front of me.
“Colby why are you acting like I’m the one to blame?” She was aggravating the hell outta me.
“I didn’t blame you Brielle and if you weren’t listening to my conversation you wouldn’t have heard anything I said.”
“I let you get away with snapping at me when you first got here because seeing your daughter hurting is a lot. However; you will not disrespect or blame me for this.”
“I thought you were leaving.” I moved away. I wasn’t about to go back and forth with her.
“Don’t you worry, I am. I just wanted to say this.”
“Can you hurry up? I need to get inside.” I had no business being rude or nasty to her. I was mad and directing my anger at the wrong person.
“I don’t care how bad you’re hurting; I love Aniya and I will be here every day to see her. If you try and stop me, I swear on everything, if you got me pregnant on the trip you regret; I’ll fucking terminate it.” I snatched her arm.
“Colby.” My father walked up.
“Don’t make threats Brielle because I will carry mine through a lot faster than you think.” I let her go and saw the tears starting to fall.
“Oh Brielle.” She turned around.
“Since you have no issue threatening me with terminating a child we’re unsure you’re pregnant with, drive down to the pharmacy, pick up the pill and you know the rest.” I put up the peace sign and shoulder checked her on the way in. I’m not about to play these games with her.
I asked everyone to leave the room Aniya was in, locked the door and got in bed with her. I stared down at her and Brielle cleaned her up nice. She smelled a lot better too.
At this very moment, I didn’t give a fuck about anything or anyone but her right now. She is and will always be my main concern and I don’t care who likes it.
Antoine
“SHIT!” I finally found the strength to move and check on my wife. I flew down the stairs and stared at Vanity lying on the ground bleeding in between her legs and one of her arms looked crooked.
“VANITY COME ON. SOMETHING HAPPENED TO...” I heard Armonie saying as she walked through the door.
