“How is it, that just a couple of days ago, the two of you were about to fight, right here in this room, and yet now you’re happy to live together, and to share me. How can you both have changed your minds so quickly?”

“I was wild because I thought he was trying to take you from me, I think that Cole thought the same thing, am I right, Cole?”

  Cole nodded and chimed in.

“I told you I’d been waiting a long time for you to come along, when I finally met you, I knew you’d been with Bram, but I thought it was just a fling. When I realised how serious he was about you, I thought the same – that he wanted to take you away. That’s why we were going to fight, because we didn’t want to lose you. This way we don’t have to, once we realised what was happening between the three of us, it changed things, for me, anyway. I’d rather share you than lose you, Diane, and once I realised you were mated to both of us, I knew you would never be able to choose. Trust me, there won’t be any more fighting, no jealousy, neither of us is worried that you will favour one of us over the other, because we know you won’t. Does that answer your question?”

I looked from one to the other, finally convinced that they were serious about our relationship and that I wouldn’t offend either of them if I talked about the other, or paid attention to the other. I resolved then and there to talk no more about it.

“You’re on then. I’m in. When can I look at the land, when will you own it, and when will you start building?”

The men laughed. They both started talking at once, clearly excited by their joint project, and by the prospect of us all finally living together.

“Tomorrow night we’ll check it out, it will be ours in thirty days. We’ve had a clause included in the contract to allow us possession straight away, so we can start building as soon as you tell us what sort of house you want and we can get some plans drawn up. We’ve scouted out a couple of possible sites for the house, and want to go over them and explain the reasons for each choice. We’d value your input, the site we choose ultimately depends on the house we decide to build. If we get both packs working on it, we should get the house built in a couple of months, depending on whether all materials are available”.

“Wait, what about council? Don’t you have to get plans approved or something? What do you mean what sort of house I want? I haven’t even thought that far ahead”.

“Well, you had better. It’s your house too, you need to write a wish list, and we’ll try to get all our ideas working together. As for council, well, we try to fly under the radar as much as possible. The more interaction we have with authorities, the more traces we leave, and we try to leave as little as possible”.

“But how can you do that? I mean, maybe in the past you could, but these days with satellites and the internet and everything, it’s really hard to hide anything”.

“You wouldn’t have noticed, but we do enjoy the benefits of modern technology. Around our settlements we employ signal scramblers. To satellites our properties appear to be simple farms, with just a couple of outbuildings and a lot of grass. We tend to avoid social media wherever possible as well, as most of us live in shifter communities and interact with humans very little, it’s not difficult to stay invisible. So the council won’t know there’s a house going up as we’ll have scramblers in from day one. Any aerial photos will just detect grassland. If you’ve got the internet, I can show you what I mean”.

I switched on my computer, and Bram brought up some maps of his farm. Sure enough, I could see the old house, where he lived, and the sheds, but none of the houses that I had seen with my own eyes. All I could see were slightly blurry patches of landscape.

“That’s amazing. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t seen those houses myself. So, does this make all photography fail?”

“No, anything really close up won’t be blocked by the signals. If someone drove up and took photos, they’d be clear enough, but we’d notice any strangers on our property before they got close enough to see our community. The real danger these days is drones. Luckily we live far enough from our neighbours that they haven’t been a problem, but we bought one and tested it ourselves, and when you fly it low enough it does record the truth. So if anyone in our community sees a drone, they will shoot it down. As far as the owner would know, it just fell out of the sky. It’s a pretty low-tech solution to a high-tech problem, but it should work”.

Just then we heard another car pull up in the driveway, and there was a knock at my door. I went to open it, puzzled about who it could be, and stood there in surprise when I saw Blair and another young man who I thought might be his accomplice in crime, and they were holding a security door. I felt Cole come up behind me, and he put his hand on the small of my back and smiled into my ear as he spoke.

“I told you I’d have a door fitted. I thought since Blair was the one who exposed the weakness, he’d be the best one to fix it. I know it won’t make up for what he did, but it’s a start. Let’s get out of their way and let them work”.

While Blair and his friend worked, I fetched some paper and pens and the three of us wrote lists and drew rough sketch plans. The two men took over and I watched in wonder. I would have been happy with a regular sized house, but this house just seemed to grow and grow as they discussed all the features they would like. All I wanted was a decent sized kitchen and bedroom, and maybe a rumpus room for all those prospective children to play in when the weather was too bad to go outside. After a while the drilling noises ceased, and Blair called me over to check his handiwork. He had installed a steel mesh security door at my back door, which was actually the laundry door, and had also put a steel grille over the adjacent window so that no-one could punch through the glass to open the door from the inside. In addition, he had also installed a deadlock on the door.

“Blair, you didn’t have to do all of this, a security door would have been more than enough”.

“Nonsense, woman. If I could break in so easily, so could lots of people. I don’t know how much longer you’re going to live here, if I know my brother it won’t be long, but you’re obviously important to him so I want you to be safe. Anyway, we’re done now. Here’s the keys for the new locks, we’re off”.

I waved Blair off, frowning as the neighbour over the road seemed to take a long time checking his letterbox – particularly as it was a Sunday and the postie hadn’t been since Friday – and was clearly trying to watch the comings and goings at my house. I cheekily waved, then turned to go back inside, closing the door behind me. I no sooner got to the kitchen table, when Bram stood up.

“I have to go too, Diane. You and Cole need some time alone together and I’m in the way. But before I go – “

Bram pulled me to him, and I pressed myself against him, looking up into his eyes as he looked down into mine before dipping his head to claim my lips. He sighed into my mouth as he massaged my lips with his, and ran his hands over my back and buttocks, squeezing my buttocks before releasing me and stepping back, both of us now breathing a bit more heavy than normally.

“Tomorrow is going to be a long time away”. He turned to Cole. “You were right, I will be thinking about you for the rest of the day and tonight”.

  Cole laughed.

“That’s fair, I had a lousy day yesterday, wishing I was with you. By the way, thanks for getting her all hot and bothered, I get to reap the rewards of your efforts”.

Bram left after flicking the bird at Cole, and when the door closed behind him, Cole walked up to me and gathered me in his arms.

“I’ve missed you, Diane. I can’t believe it’s only been two days since I saw you last, it feels like forever. I was so relieved when I got that text from Bram saying you had agreed”.

“Were you worried I might chicken out?”

“No, not really, I knew that you felt what I felt, so I knew you’d come around eventually, but I was worried about how long it would take you”.

  I laughed.

  “Are you saying I’m easy?”

  Cole looked horrified.

“No, Diane, not at all. It’s just –“

I took pity on him, smiling as I put my hand over his lips to stop him talking.

“Shh, Cole, I was just teasing. You know that both you and Bram are irresistible, what else could a poor girl do? Anyway, what do you have planned for us to do today?”

Shaking his head to catch up with the change of subject, Cole smiled and stepped to the door to pick up a bag that Blair must have left. He started pulling items out of it.

“It’s a beautiful day, so we’re going for a ride. I bought you some protective clothing in the right size, and look – boots!”

I donned the new clothing – helped by Cole, which involved lots of him not actually helping at all, and me slapping his hands away as I tried to do up buttons and zippers – and then checked myself out in the mirror.

“Why jeans?” I queried, looking down at my legs. “I thought you wore leather on bikes?”

Cole came up to me and ran his hands down my legs lightly, although I could see what he was doing, the sensations were quite indistinct.

“It’s the middle of summer, you’d overheat in leather. Didn’t you notice these jeans had a lining? It’s Kevlar. If you come off the bike, the denim might scrape away on the road, but the Kevlar should protect your skin. Is this your stuff for tomorrow? Let’s go, the day is wasting!”

I watched Cole swing his leg over his bike, enjoying the play of his muscles and the view of his butt as he settled down, then I climbed on behind him and snuggled in close. I wrapped both arms tightly around his waist and held on as he drove off. There was probably another way to be a passenger on a motorcycle, but this was the way I liked to ride, my arms and legs wrapped around Cole’s solid body, absorbing his warmth and chatting idly to him as we rode. I looked around as we rode, Cole having explained that he was taking me on a popular weekend route for riders. First we headed down Donnybrook Road, and as we crested the hill and the bike was going downhill, I gasped in pleasure to see the blue of Yan Yean Reservoir sparkling in the summer sun. As we skirted the reservoir, I resolved to come back one day with Cole and Bram together. It looked like there might be some lovely picnic spots around the reservoir. We rode for some time, through areas that were probably once small towns, but due to the growth of the city were now just becoming suburbs of Melbourne. Finally Cole slowed the bike, and I saw a lot of other bikes parked outside a pub – I saw that the town was called St Andrews. As we took off our helmets, Cole looked across the road, then turned to me with a smile.

“The market is still going, I thought we might be too late, do you want to go?”

“What sort of stuff do they have? Do we need anything?”

Cole smiled at my use of the word ‘we’, and I blushed at how easily I was slipping into the whole relationship thing. Cole took my hand and we dashed across the road after waiting for a couple of cars to zip past. We wandered around the market for a while, and I drooled over the local and homemade produce. After being assured by Cole that his saddlebags were spacious, I soon had a couple of loaves of artisan breads, some locally produced honey, and some amazing smelling soaps. After taking the shopping back to the bike, we headed into the pub for some lunch. Cole had a brief discussion with someone sitting on one of the tables outside about his bike, all of which went over my head, then when we walked into the pub I spied the deck out the back, and we found a spare table out there.

As I sat out in the fresh air, the bright sun shining, admiring the handsome man sitting opposite me, I thought that I was almost the happiest woman alive. The only thing that would have made my happiness complete would have been if Bram had been here too. I smiled to myself as I wondered if I would ever have the courage to flirt with both men in such a public setting. As the waitress put our plates of food down in front of us, I noticed her overlong glances at Cole and felt a pang of something like jealousy. I looked around and noticed a table of women nearby, obviously a group of friends out for lunch, but the ones who were facing us were openly ogling Cole. As he had his back to them, their eyes were trailing down his broad back and settling on his butt. I narrowed my eyes at them and managed to catch the eye of one, who looked embarrassed to have been caught, and elbowed her friend, turning to whisper at her. Her friend looked at me and then looked away. Cole by this time had picked up his knife and fork and was in the act of slicing into his steak – which was extremely rare, just like Bram ate his – and looked at my untouched plate then at me.

“Is something wrong? This is what you ordered, isn’t it?”

“Yes”, I responded, shaking myself out of my funk, “I was just a bit sidetracked watching those women over there ogle you, and I didn’t like it. Is that hypocritical of me? Here I am, enjoying the attentions of two gorgeous men, but I don’t like it when other women look at you. Is that wrong of me?”

“It’s natural. You’re worried about what I was worried about, losing your partner to someone else. You’ve already experienced that once, so it’s understandable you would be concerned. You don’t need to be, you’re stuck with me, and with Bram too. I’m not interested in someone else, only you, and I’m sure Bram would say the same”.

“It never occurred to me before, but what if you or Bram wanted to sleep with another woman, while staying with me. Could that happen?”

Cole put his knife down and took my hand.

“Never. That’s not the way the bond works. As time goes on, you will understand more, but once the bond is complete, that’s it. It’s exclusive from there on”.

“I still don’t understand it then. How did you and I bond, if I had completed my bond with Bram?”

“It’s complicated, and unusual, but the bond wasn’t complete, because you were obviously meant to be paired with the both of us. It was just fortunate that you met us both so quickly, if you had been paired with Bram for a long time, then met me, it would have been very difficult for both you and Bram to accept me into your relationship. As much as I hate to admit it, my brother’s foolishness was a good thing in our case. Now, eat your food before it gets cold, we’ve still got some riding to do before we go home for the night”.

As we ate, I worried about whether I had annoyed Cole. Was I being too needy by seeking constant reassurance? My fears were settled when he looked up from his food, smiling at me, the light in his eyes making his feelings plain. I moved my foot, intending to run it up the leg of his jeans, but then the weight of the boot reminded me that I wasn’t wearing something lightweight. I doubted that the feel of a heavy boot scraping up his leg would be appealing for Cole, so with a smile I applied myself to my meal.

After we left the pub, I settled in to my favourite position hugging Cole, and as the road to Kinglake became steeper and windier, I held on even tighter, shifting my weight to press even more closely against his back. Cole huffed and then spoke to me through the helmet mic.

“If you keep that up, I’m going to have to look for a place to pull over, and this isn’t exactly Lover’s Lane, you know”.

I laughed at the thought that my actions were getting to Cole, then a wicked thought occurred to me. Making sure that there weren’t any oncoming vehicles that could see what I was up to, I loosened one hand from where it was tightly gripping Cole’s stomach and moved it downwards quickly, covering Cole’s impressive crotch with my hand and massaging firmly. The bike wavered a little, and I heard Cole swear in his helmet.

“Diane, stop that, or you’ll kill us both!”

I laughed and shifted my hand, but not before noticing that Cole’s jeans were now a little tighter on him in the crotch area than they had been before. I sighed deeply and looked to my left out over the hillside, admiring the view, and enjoying my perfect day. We rode through Kinglake to Kinglake West, then Cole turned off into the Kinglake National Park and rode for a while until he found a place to leave the bike. We dismounted and took off the helmets, giving me a chance to admire Cole’s beautiful dark hair as it fell free of his helmet. Cole then took my hand, leading me on one of the trails. I didn’t know where we were headed, having never been here before, so just followed him without question. After a while, Cole slowed, then pulled me to him with a smile.

“That was some crazy stunt you pulled back there, Diane. I hope you’re prepared to follow through on that promise?”

“Here? What exactly do you mean? What if someone comes along?”

“We’re quite alone, Diane, you forget I’ve got better than human hearing. No-one is anywhere near us. Now, thanks to you, I’m having trouble concentrating, and that’s dangerous for both of us, don’t you think?”

I moved closer to Cole, smiling broadly as I bought into his game.

“What can I do to make things better then?”

I walked my fingers up his chest, but Cole grabbed my hands and pushed them downwards to his belt, watching me with a smile on his face as I undid his belt, the button on the jeans and the zip, then slid my hand into the waistband of his jeans, feeling the head of his cock as it tried to work its way free. I shoved Cole’s jeans down a little bit, running my hands around the back to cup his buttocks, feeling them flex under my fingers, and working his jeans down to the top of his thighs. I slowly sank to my knees, looking up at Cole and enjoying seeing the heat in his eyes as he watched me take his cock into my mouth. I worked my head down, taking him all the way to the back of my throat, feeling the heat pool between my thighs as I heard him groan and felt him thrust into my mouth. Cole was more demanding than he had been previously, thrusting gently but firmly, and I squeezed my thighs together, eagerly anticipating Cole repeating these actions when buried deep inside me. Cole wrapped my hair around his fingers and tugged my head towards him, thrusting more urgently, and I hollowed out my cheeks each time I drew him deep inside my throat, listening for the change in his breathing. Before long I was rewarded for my efforts by hearing him stutter out my name as he thrust sharply, and I swallowed furiously as I felt the hot liquid hit the back of my throat. Once I was sure that I had sucked him clean, I let Cole’s relaxed cock fall from my mouth and looked up at him, seeing him looking down at me with a look of wonder. Cole pulled me to my feet and pulled me in close for a hug.
