“I need you to slow your breathing for me. I know it’s scary the first time, it’s never easy looking into a mirror and seeing the reflection of someone else, but I promise it gets easier. But the more panicked you are, the longer it will take for you to morph back to your normal self, okay?” Tilda said, rubbing Caroline’s arm.
Caroline nodded, forcing herself to breathe as slowly as she could.
“Okay, good. Now what’s scary about the first morph is you never know in advance who you’re going to become. Though it’s usually someone you have a strong connection to. So I have to ask…who, are you?”
Caroline felt the tears trickle down her face as she stared at her reflection, “Mom. I’ve morphed into my mother.”
