His soldiers stand at his side. The twins have migrated to Natalie. I stand face-to-face with Prince, alone. I need someone to rescue me from the outskirts of his darkness.
James steps in front of me. His shirt is ripped to shreds, and scars riddle his chest. “We have what we want. Just let us leave.”
“It’s not that simple. You want your sister.”
He nods. “Of course.”
“You can take Natalie and Tanya with you. But I keep Ronielle.”
“This isn’t a trade.”
“Well, then Natalie goes nowhere,” he says with no regards.
“Take the girls, I’ll stay,” I respond. The girls won’t last another day. He will feed on them until they disappear.
“What? Are you sure about this?” James questions with concern.
“Yes.” Fear is an understatement. This is the most fearful I’ve ever been. I can handle Prince. I have done it before. Will and determination are how I survive. And I have my hit-or-miss magic to protect me.
“Okay, but I stay here with Ronielle,” James says.
