Well, that's not a hard-and-fast rule and I suspect the word is 'engaging' or 'gripping' or some nonsensical word you'd find in a dictionary. But fun? There should be a bit of it. Just a bit. I hope the next time I write one of these I'll tell you things are wildly improved and I have in fact unlocked a new level of my own writing abilities. But if I sound a bit more energetic, or I say things have been going just a bit better--just a bit--that's all you need, sometimes.
