CHAPTER 1
Hazel crouched behind the rack of potato chips at the gas station. She had run in to pay for her gas and decided to buy a lottery ticket for her birthday. Hey, twenty-two could be lucky! She repeated her thoughts again to herself in mockery. Now, she peeked around the shelving to see the masked men standing at the counter in front of the shaking teenage girl working at the cash register. Their guns were pointed steadily at the young cashier as she tried to shove the money from her drawer into a bag.
Thank goodness the gunmen had not seen Hazel. She had leaned over to pick up a candy bar from the bottom row of the shelves when they had entered the store. Come on! It’s almost like a birthday cake, the snarky inner voice whispered to her. For once, Hazel was pleased that she had decided to splurge on the calories.
One of the gunmen started to pace. His path was getting closer to her aisle. Hazel decided to ease back to the end of the aisle. She tried to shift out of his imminent possible view silently. Inching her way, she smiled at her stealth. Who said a curvy woman couldn’t be physically coordinated?
Crash! Multicolored snack cakes went flying as Hazel’s round bottom bumped into the display case knocking it over. Hazel glanced up in a panic to see the pacing gunman right in front of her with his rifle pointed at her face.
Looking down the long metal barrel of the rifle, Hazel put up her hands and began babbling, “I’m sorry. I didn’t see anything.” She thought she remembered that criminals needed assurance that there were no witnesses to testify.
In the next few seconds, the shiny, waxed floor in front of her began to shimmer. She lost her balance and began to fall forward. She tried to brace her hands on the floor to steady herself. Her fingertips met emptiness. They penetrated the glittery glow, and her body fell through behind them. She briefly heard a shout from the gunman asking, “What the f—?” but the last word was cut off as the snack row at the gas station evaporated.
She felt like she was falling for a couple of seconds and she started to yell, “Aaaahhhhhh!” Her voice abruptly cut off as she realized that she had stopped falling and was now cradled firmly in someone’s arms. She looked at the wide, muscular forearm wrapped around her torso. No one has an arm that big, she thought in amazement. Hazel looked up, tracing an incredibly broad, naked chest to a thick neck that supported a very chiseled jawline covered by a dense, red beard. Her eyes glanced over his jutting cheekbones to lock with piercing green eyes that danced with amusement.
“Happy birthday, Hazel. How nice of you to drop in!” Joyfully, he laughed as he squeezed her body to his massive frame.
Freezing in place, Hazel tried to figure out what had happened. How does he know my name? And that it’s my birthday? she thought in a daze. She was held close to the incredibly well-built giant who supported her curvy frame easily, as if she was a small child. Hazel’s thoughts immediately raced toward the stories she loved about the diminutive heroine whose lover cared completely for his Little girl. She looked down again at his muscled arms. He was huge. For once in her life, she wasn’t worried about outweighing a male. It didn’t even enter her mind that he would struggle to support her weight. He looked like he could lift her small car.
“Do we know each other?” she asked before swallowing loudly and immediately adding the real question that she wanted to ask, “Are you going to hurt me?”
“I am Conall, but you will call me something else. You are my droblin. I am here to protect and cherish you. I have waited for the moment of your birth on your twenty-second year on Earth since you were conceived.” He leaned forward to press a kiss to her forehead. Smiling at her confusion, he walked to a enormous armless chair and sat easily. His muscles seemed to hold her effortlessly as he controlled her attempts to slide from his lap. “I know you are confused. Let’s sit and chat. You are unharmed by the robbery?” he asked as his eyes flashed over her body.
“I think so,” she whispered, lifting a trembling hand to her head, revealing a smear of dark red on the inside of one arm.
“You are bleeding, droblin. I must see where you are wounded,” he firmly said as he waved his arm across her form.
Hazel felt her blue shirt begin to unbutton itself. “Oh!” She scrambled to pull the edges of her shirt together as it began to draw away from her full bust and rounded stomach.
“I must see where you are hurt, droblin,” Conall explained as he captured her hands and held them in one of his large hands.
“No! How are you doing this? Stop taking off my clothes!” she demanded as the shirt’s seams opened and the garment slid from her body. Her pants were next. She felt the button at her waistband disappear and the zipper moved downward as if being drawn by an invisible hand. Hazel squirmed as she tried to get away from his control, but her hands were held firmly. When her motions became more frantic, the giant man simply raised her arms over her head lifting her slightly from his lap to allow the pants to flow down over her full thighs and off her feet.
“When did my shoes disappear?” she asked with shock, trying to breathe as panic set in. She was somewhere strange. In addition, she was being controlled completely, and she didn’t understand how he was doing this. There was no doubt in her mind that it was definitely this giant man who stripped off her clothing.
Hazel shivered, intimidated by the unexplainable power that he displayed. She looked down her body and groaned to see that she was wearing her oldest, most comfortable bra with the stretched-out straps and a pair of green, full-cut underwear that were definitely not meant to be seen by anyone, much less someone of the male persuasion. His hands raised her without strain or effort to turn her in all directions until he found a small cut that had almost stopped bleeding. Hazel had a flashback to a sting as the snack cakes exploded around her. She must have gotten nicked by a package.
“You are not gravely injured,” he reassured her. He brushed his thick, index finger across her slight wound sealing it closed as she gasped at the surge of warmth that stroked her skin. “You are lovely, my Hazel. I have waited to meet you for an extremely long time. I am very glad that the moment of your birth arrived before that gunman was able to hurt you. I was prevented from assisting you until you transported here to me on your twenty-second birthday. There have been several times that I ached to assist you, but today was unbearable. I am greatly relieved that you are here, Hazel. Now, I can care for you, droblin.”
“Um, thanks for zapping my cut. Can I have my clothes back yet?” she asked self-consciously. She pulled at his hand trying to free herself from his grip.
“You are very welcome. I will enjoy caring for you. You do not need clothing here, droblin. It is just you and me. I enjoy looking at your beautiful form,” the man said leaning her away from her so he could run his eyes over her body more easily.
“Who are you?” burst from her lips much louder than she intended. “You abduct me from my life to bring me here. Wherever ‘here’ is!” She struggled against his hold with more force.
“Calm down, droblin. I will explain everything, but you must calm down.” When she continued to struggle, his free hand cupped her face firmly and turned her head until she met his striking green eyes. “You will calm down now, droblin, or I will be forced to punish you for risking injury.”
Her body froze at the mention of punishment. She felt a shiver of arousal run down her spine. Hazel shook herself to rouse herself from his spell. “I don’t have to do what you say. Send me home,” she demanded. Immediately, she felt herself rotated to lay across his immense, powerful thighs. They felt like tree trunks under her stomach. There was no padding on this man at all — just pure muscles.
“This is your new home. You are my droblin. I am responsible for your life.” He hooked a large finger under the elastic waistband and forcefully pulled off her granny panties as she thrashed her legs trying to get away. Without pause, he continued pulling the underwear down her calves and over her feet. He dropped them to the floor under Hazel’s desperate view. They disappeared as they hit the floor. “Your life has changed. I am now in charge.” He raised his immense hand and brought it down to slap her rounded bottom. He continued to spank her exposed flesh leaving red prints where his hand landed on her white flesh. “I decide what you wear, what you do, and where you go. You will soon adjust to being a droblin. You will spend the rest of your life here, droblin. There is no going back. Do you understand me?”
Hazel’s buns were on fire. He had spread the spanking across her exposed flesh. She felt tears overflow her eyes and begin to run down her cheeks. She looked over her shoulder at him with glistening hazel eyes she knew had shifted more to green than brown with fright. They always gave her emotions away. “I don’t understand. Why are you doing this? Are you trying to humiliate me?” she wailed.
Immediately, the spanking stopped. The punishing hand began to rub over the smooth skin on her back. When her bra strap caught on his finger, she felt a swirl of something, and the strap disappeared, taking the rest of the bra with it. Suddenly, her full breast swung free. Her beaded nipples brushed his soft, full trousers repeatedly as he stroked her spine. When her breath calmed, he turned her over to cuddle her against his body. He wiped a soft cloth across her eyes to dry her cheeks. “You are my droblin, my destined one. I would never seek to humiliate you.” At her accusing look and indignant snort, he took her chin in one hand controlling her movement so that her eyes focused on his. “I will punish you to guide you–never to humiliate you. Now, if you will settle down, I will try to explain all of this to you.” He released her chin to wave a hand indicating the surrounding space. At her sniff and cautious nod, he smiled once again.
Her breath caught in her chest. He was easily the most attractive man she had ever seen. She tried to focus as he wrapped his arms around her ribs to press his palms together in front of her.
“My name is Conall. I am one of the Sorcerers of Bairn. You are my droblin or my destined one. Nothing is more important to a Sorcerer than their droblin,” he shared with her. “Let me show you,” he instructed as he spread his hands as if opening a book to reveal a lighted orb which appeared to rest in his palms. He blew softly on it, and it grew in response until it was a foot square. “Watch carefully. This is the history of the first Sorcerer of Bairn.”
Hazel’s mind was already puzzling over the idea that this enormous man was a sorcerer. Her attention focused on the light, and she stared in amazement as it swirled with colors before turning into moving pictures. She watched as a strong male figure emerged from a fog. He conjured a enormous medieval home and slowly filled it with all types of wonders. But the mood was grey, and his face was sad. One day, he opened the door to find a large, white flower bud laying on the step. He lifted it carefully and took it inside. Placing it on the table, he noticed that each time he touched the budded blossom, a hint of color would burst through the whiteness only to fade when he removed his fingers. Intrigued, he sat and cradled the blossom between his powerful hands. He was shocked to find the bud not only turning colors but warming in his grip. For twenty-two days, he held the bud in his hands as it began to blossom and spread its petals. On the twenty-second day, the final petals curled open revealing a beautiful young woman inside. His joy was palpable as he lifted her gently from the blossom which began to wither instantly.
His new companion was weak and unable to fend for herself. He wrapped her tenderly in a diaper and warm clothing. The sorcerer coaxed her to drink from a bottle to gain her strength. As the young woman blossomed and became stronger, the sorcerer found his powers and strength increasing as well. Their love for each other grew with each passing day. It was the sorcerer’s infinite joy to care for all his love’s needs just as one would nurture a baby unable to fend for itself. The young woman was very wise and simply enjoyed the loving closeness with her mate. The pictures ended with a final reminder of the white bud appearing magically on the sorcerer’s step.
Hazel raised her eyes to meet his stunning green ones. “I am the young woman from the story?” she asked quietly, knowing that he would not have shared this legend with her idly. It was important.
Linking his fingers with hers, Conall confirmed her guess, “You are. Each Sorcerer is paired with his destined one at some point during his lifespan. This droblin is the only mate possible for the sorcerer for she is the other half of him. At your conception, I felt you. For twenty-two years, I have watched over you as I prepared to care for you. You have been the reason that I have studied and mastered my craft. My magic is strong. I will protect you.” With a ceremonial flair, he began to recite the traditional oath. “You are mine, and I am yours, Hazel. You are my destined one, and I have been waiting for you since your conception. As have all the Sorcerers of Bairn past and present, I will care for you completely.” From out of nowhere, a lightning bolt of energy lanced through the air to surge painfully through their joined hands.
Instantly tears of agony welled into Hazel’s eyes. Conall waved his other hand through the air, and a cooling burst flowed across her burning skin. Holding their hands together, he looked deep into her eyes. “I am glad you are here, Hazel. I will take good care of you. I promise.” And he caught her gently as she fainted and crumpled against him.
CHAPTER 2
The painful jolt combined with the events from the day came crashing in around her. She ticked them off in her brain. One, the birthday that no one had acknowledged all day at work. Two, her decision to purchase a candy bar because she knew there would be no birthday celebration this year. Three, seeing her life flash by during the robbery when she was targeted by the gunman. Four, the scary fall from all she knew, to the unknown. Here, her clothes were whisked away and her nudity exposed to this being. And five, the knowledge that as lonely as her life had been, she would never return to it. Hazel began to cry in despair. “Why is this happening to me?” she gasped out between sobs as she held her hand cradled to her exposed chest.
She felt her body turned and held firmly to Conall’s muscled chest. He pulled her hand to his lips and blew a cooling breath across her palm. His strong hands stroked her bare back, caressing her skin as he tried to soothe her. Desperate for some reassurance, Hazel melted against his chest. His skin was tanned an appealing, golden brown, and Conall smelled unlike any man she had ever been close to before. Not that I’ve been close to many men, that snarky voice commented in her brain. His warmth surrounded her. There was something about him that just felt right.
Sensations besieged Hazel. Conall’s full beard lay silkily next to her skin. It was very difficult to prevent herself from rubbing her cheek across its soft, bristliness. She could feel her tight nipples pressing into his hard frame. The potent male’s breath rasped in his throat as he also was struggling to control his reactions to their closeness. The loose pants that hung low on his trim waistline draped over the rigid muscles in his thighs. Her generously padded hips shifted on his lap.
“Relax, Hazel. Allow me to hold you in my arms. I had to wait so long for you to arrive here. The bonding has begun,” Conall explained softly to reassure his droblin. “There will be no more pain. Only pleasure.” His arms tightened around her pulling her even closer.
“Can’t you just send me home?” she pleaded.
“Your destiny is with me. Our lives are united irrevocably. I will make you happy, droblin. I promise,” Conall said brushing her hair from her eyes.
“Can I have some clothes, please?” she whispered.
“Your form pleases me, Hazel. Droblins do not need clothing as is customary in the world you left. Your role as droblin is much different from your life on Earth. I have something to show you that I have been planning for many years,” Conall softly said as he stood easily holding her firmly against his body. Their heartbeats echoed each other as their chests pressed tightly together.
Hazel looked curiously around her as he carried her through his home. The rooms she looked into as they walked down the hall were beautiful and remote as if no one actually lived there. “Who lives here?” she asked curiously.
“I have lived alone gathering knowledge and skill to prepare for your arrival. I have built our home gradually. Anything you do not like can be changed.” He walked into a huge bedroom pausing slightly before a closed door. “This is the room that I’ve prepared especially for you. I hope you will be happy here,” he said as he leaned forward slightly to grasp the ornate dark metal doorknob. He pushed open the door gently to reveal a beautiful room filled with light and color. It was painted a light green with bright yellow polka dots here and there.
