Chapter One
"Ali...." My Dad calls.
It is the same every morning, I just like to take my time getting ready for training before I grab a quick breakfast.
"Yes Dad?" I replied.
"Breakfast is ready, will you come and eat with the pack NOW!"
He is so impatient sometimes. You see we have this tradition, every day all the high-ranking pack members must eat together that also includes our mates, if you have one! Which sadly I do not.
"Ok I'm coming. Gosh I was just about to come down anyway," I say to him.
"You tend to come down when we are nearly done and as my daughter you know you need to eat with everyone. It's not a hard thing sweetheart, ok? just get down here."
Let me introduce myself, I am Alice knight, I’m 21 and I’m a wolf shifter. All our wolves have a separate consciousness within our body, so they have their own names. My wolf is called Storm and she is special! She is a red wolf; legend says that red wolves have special powers but unfortunately most of the information about them has been lost.
I throw on some joggers and a sports bra so I am all ready to go training straight after. Now that I am dressed, I run downstairs and head for the dining room where breakfast is always eaten.
"Finally little wolf," Mark says with a hint of sarcasm.
Mark is my oldest brother and future alpha of our pack, the Red moon pack. He is 25 and has already begun helping my Dad so he can learn everything.
I sigh and reply, “Seriously! Do not keep calling me that."
"Oh, come on Ali it's just a nickname for our little sister," Jack says with a mocking smile.
Jack is my other brother he is 23.
"Yea I know but it doesn't mean I have to like it! Morning Dad," I give him a kiss on the cheek and take my seat next to Jack.
"Morning sweetheart. Are you training after breakfast?" He asks me.
This is my Dad Sam; he is the Alpha of the pack and an all-round amazing Dad and is only 42.
"Yep. You know I like training," I said happily.
"I know sweetheart. Kick some arse and show them how strong you are!" Dad is always so proud of us and always encourages us in everything that we do.
I giggle at his response and say, "Don't worry Dad I'll make sure they know who's the best."
Ok yes that does sound cocky but seriously, I am the daughter of an Alpha, I need to be confident.
We all eat our breakfast, which is just scrambled egg on toast this morning, but the extra protein is good for us especially when you train a lot. We are all talking and joking throughout the meal, it's so quiet and relaxed. Once I’m done, I excuse myself, grabbing my hand towel and my bottle of water then head out to the training ground. Once I get there I pair up with Vince, he is my Dad's beta. He is like an Uncle to us as well as my trainer, he has been training me since I was three years old.
"Ok Ali, let's see if you can beat me today," he smirks at me. Normally he beats me every time that we spar so he has a right to be confident. I have been close a lot of times but he always seems to counter my last move and I lose.
"Don't worry Vince I'll be gentle with you," I laugh.
I get into my fighting stance and bounce on my toes just like he taught me. We start to circle each other waiting to see who makes the first move. Vince throws the first punch, aiming for my face but I block it with my arm. I counter quickly with my own hook punch using my free arm, I manage to get him right on the jaw! YES! I think to myself but try not to celebrate too early.
"Lucky shot Ali."
He smirks and grabs my wrist twisting it and pulling my arm behind my back. I spin around and elbow him in the gut which causes him to let me go. I then crouch down and sweep my leg to try and knock him off his feet, but he anticipates my move jumping to avoid it.
Darn I need to get him on his arse just this once! I think to myself. Before I know what’s happening, he grabs me round the neck putting me into a sleeper hold.
Shit!
"Do you yield?" He asks.
Huh he wishes!
"NO!" I growl.
With all my strength I elbow him three times in the ribs, he releases me! Phew.
I quickly turn and kick him in the chest knocking him to the floor. I grab his arm with my hands extending it, then wrapping my legs around his arm and my feet are locked on the other side of his neck. I pull, hyper extending his arm. Now I know this hurts a lot as he has done it to me many times.
"Ggggrrrr,” He growls.
"Do YOU yield?" I ask.
He doesn't answer straight away, he is trying to unlock my legs. He’s even trying to relieve the pressure in his arm by lacing his fingers together to keep me from extending it again, but nothing is working.
"YES, I YIELD," He roars.
I release my hold on him straight away. Seeing the relief on his face makes me smile triumphantly. This is the first time that I’ve won.
"Ok ok, you got me this once. Go do some laps I'll join you when I can feel my arm again," He laughs whilst rubbing it.
" Yes boss," I said with a salute.
"Don't be cheeky Ali," He yells.
I run off laughing.
I've run eight miles so far, four with Vince. It took him longer than expected to join me, I must have hurt him more than I thought, luckily us wolves heal quickly.
"How's Jess?" I ask.
Jess is Vince’s mate, she is pregnant with their first cub, she still has two months to go.
"She is good, she is looking noticeably big now. Not long until we meet our little cub."
"I know, I can't wait to finally meet the little guy."
"Me too! When are you going to find your mate? I know it's not that easy for you, but you haven’t even tried, you are 21 you should start looking."
I sigh, this isn't an easy subject for me.
"I do want to find my mate, but I don't want to travel far. It's too dangerous for Storm and you know that. I just hope he is looking for me."
I try not to feel too sad, but it isn't easy.
"I understand you're trying to protect Storm; she is an exceedingly rare red wolf. They are only found in our pack and before you were born it had been a hundred years since the last red wolf. But you can't keep being scared Ali you need your mate, he is part of you, part of your soul."
I can't listen to this anymore.
"I'm sorry Vince but Storm needs a run, and she wants to go now. Can we not keep talking about this please?"
I go behind a tree and take off my clothes shifting into my wolf form. Storm takes off at full speed. We are both sick of this topic, it's the same every day with Vince. I swear becoming a Dad has got him set on mating me off.
We obviously want our mate, but we can't be reckless and go running around looking for him, it's just not safe.
"FOR GODDESS’S SAKE ALI!" He yells as Storm runs.
"Aaaaawwwwwoooooo," Storm howls with glee. We do like to annoy him.
"Stubborn wolf!" I hear him say.
I laugh to myself and we run. We just need to get away from here and this bloody topic.
*"Let's go to our secret lagoon,"* I said in mind-link to Storm.
*"Good idea. I can go for a nice swim in the cool water,"* She said happily.
*"Oh yes! Definitely need it after our morning training session."*
Five minutes later we arrive at the lagoon.
*"I love this place. Let's go in the water, have a swim and relax."*
The clear blue water is surrounded by trees, it's so beautiful. Storm slowly enters the water letting the cool water cover her completely.
*"Mmmm this feels so nice, "* I said to her.
*"It really does. I've not done this in a while,"* She said.
We are in the water for at least an hour before we realise, we should probably get back.
*"I know we don't want to go back but we should really,"* I said to her.
*"I know Ggggrrrr. I just don't want to yet,"* She said then groans.
*"Me either but..............Wait! What is that? I sense something or someone immensely powerful is nearby. Let's hope whatever or whoever it is friendly."*
Storm raises her snout and sniffs the air, trying to find the person’s scent.
*"I can smell something,"* She tells me.
She starts to sniff in the air again.
*"Pine trees, mmm,"* She said.
*"It's intoxicating! Who is that?"* I ask.
Storm starts to slowly leave the cool water but stops suddenly. She sees a wolf, a huge black wolf. He is in the shadows amongst the trees.
*"MATE!"* She yells excitedly.
*"It can't be!"* I said feeling shocked.
*" We are your Alpha King! We have come for you,"* His wolf says via our mind-link, it's like he's talking for both.
He shifts to his human form and holy shit he's a god! He is tall at least 6ft 5 inches and very muscular
*"What's your name?"* I ask him.
"I am Colby Silver, Alpha king and my wolf's name is Duke. What is your name Love?" He asks.
*"Alice and this is Storm,"* I tell him.
"Can you shift? I want to see you."
I hesitate for a moment because he may be my mate, but do I trust him? This mate bond is so strong, stronger than I thought it would be and the pull is so powerful.
"I promise that you are safe with me and I will never hurt you. I've been searching for a long time for you love."
I look into his eyes and I can see he is telling me the truth, *"Ok. I feel that I can trust you."* I can't explain it, but my gut is telling me that I can. So, I shift to my human form. I'm now stood before him completely naked.
"Mmmmm" He lets out a low growl of appreciation. His growl sends shivers through my body straight to my core, fuck I'm wet just from him growling!
"You are beautiful love, unbelievably beautiful. Storm is too, I've never seen a red wolf before, she is exceedingly rare."
He's now only a few feet away, how I not even realised that he had been moving closer. His eyes roam my body again.
"Mmmm," He growls with approval.
"Please stop growling like that."
He smirks, I'm sure he can smell my arousal.
"Why is that love? I'm sure you like it, after all."
He sniffs.
"I can smell your arousal from here."
I blush at his words.
"Come closer," His voice laced with lust.
Do I trust him enough? Our mate bond is pushing me to be his and Storm is going crazy in my head. I do trust him, so I step forward slowly, his eyes never leaving mine.
We’re now only a few inches apart. I sniff, he smells so good.
"You smell of wildflowers love, it's intoxicating." His voice laced with lust.
"Pine trees, you smell of pine trees," I smile.
He smirks and says," I know I’m effecting you love, I want to touch you," He says in a low voice.
I close my eyes and let out a low growl. Why do I want him to touch me so badly? I think to myself.
*"He's our mate, our bond is starting to get stronger,"* she tells me.
I open my eyes and he is even closer to me now. He lifts his hand to my cheek and gently touches it with his thumb. The second he makes contact I feel sparks fly through my body and I lean into his touch automatically.
He‘s looking at me with dark lust filled eyes.
Kiss me Storm is yelling.
"Kiss me," I ask.
He doesn't need me to say anything more. He leans forward his lips touch mine gently. Sparks flying through my body again. He pushes his tongue past my lips so his tongue can start stroking mine. I moan into his mouth which makes him deepen the kiss. I lift my hands and lace my fingers together round his neck.
When he pulls away, we are both gasping for breath, I hear him growl, clearly, he enjoyed our first kiss.

"It was an amazing kiss. We only just met though. I know our mate bond is strong and is growing but isn't it a bit fast?"
I had to ask.
"My love I too can feel our bond, it’s driving me to want you more. It doesn't matter that we just met, we will be together for a long time. Can you feel the sparks, the heat from my touch?" As he says this, he touches my cheek again and I close my eyes.

Chapter Two
Alice's Point of View
I had just told Colby that I’m all his and he claimed my lips in a breath taking, passionate kiss. His tongue slides across my lips begging for access, I open for him letting our tongues join and dance together.
I moan into his mouth and wrap my arms around his neck. His arms wrap around my waist so that he can pull me closer, so my breasts are flush against his hard muscular chest.
