  Madh shook his head. “I was too busy laughing at first, and then too busy learning their magic.” He wondered how the Elementals were doing. Where they were. Were they confined to the Valley of Serenity? Or were they in Meriden where the souls of all good men went? Had he condemned them to an eternity of torment by confining them to one place? He guessed it was still better than insane men holding the world to ransom, but he wished he still believed that.

  “And now, we'll never know.” Aadron said softly.

  “It's for the best,” Madh said, as his hand touched the pouch inside his robes. “It's all for the best.”

  About the Author

  Niranjan is the pen name of Geetha Krishnan.

  Geetha has been interested in books from an early age and had started writing from childhood. She also writes poetry in her spare time and has published a volume of poetry titled The End of the Rainbow.
