On cue, two of the girls behind Rock pulled out 9 mm pistols and pointed them at him, leaving him shaken.
Rock’s eyes widened. He stood absolutely still, knowing if he made a move, the outcome would be painful.
“What’s that? I can’t hear you. You don’t seem to have a lot to say anymore, huh? Like I said, I think it’s time for you to leave, my man. You smell me now, nigga?” Sadie smirked.
Serenity stepped toward Sadie and grabbed her hand. “Leave, Rock,” she said, leaning on Sadie and staring into his eyes.
Rock stared back at Serenity. He didn’t want to show any emotion. He wanted Sadie to know there was no love lost. He turned around and walked toward the front door and left, not saying a word. Chapter Eight
It was the night of the men’s conference finals and also the last home game for the team. The place was packed, and Rock sat with a couple of his football teammates in the stands waiting for the game to start. “You seen Serenity? I’ve been calling her, and I stopped by a few times and got no answer,” Rock said, trying to be as nonchalant as possible. He didn’t want to seem like he was stalking her. He didn’t want to admit that he missed her to anybody but himself.
“Actually, I haven’t been seeing a lot of her lately. She hasn’t even been staying in the room at night for the past couple of weeks,” Raya said, not knowing she was breaking Rock’s heart with every word.
“Oh, for real?” he asked coolly, boiling on the inside. He then noticed that everyone’s attention shifted to the side entrance, where a group of women entered, and among them was Serenity. She was right under the arm of Sadie. He couldn’t believe what he was seeing. His face instantly frowned as he watched his ex being escorted by a female.

Rock kept his eyes on Serenity and hoped that she would just talk to him. She never looked his way.
“Serenity, just talk to me. You know this is not you,” Rock pleaded, trying to make eye contact.

When Rock finally got a glance at Serenity’s pupils, he realized that she was high off of something, and it crushed him. He felt his heart beating in slow motion.
“It looks like she doesn’t have any words for you, Rocky. So, I would like for you to bounce before I get upset,” Sadie said looking past Rock and seeing her brother at the opposite side of the court sitting with his crew.
