First Offense, page 25
Thanks to retired Air Force Lt. Col. Jon Williams for educating me about military matters, and to Richard Pallaziol of Weapons of Choice for teaching me about guns. Thanks also to Henry Hack, who answered my questions about law-enforcement matters. Any mistakes in those areas are purely my own.
I’m grateful to my agent, Adam Chromy of Movable Type Management, for his invaluable advice on the first draft. And big cheers go to my developmental editor, David Downing. Thanks also to my copy editor, Valerie Kalfrin, and proofreader, Jill Kramer, for making the book readable.
I’m also thrilled to be part of the Thomas & Mercer family, and greatly appreciate the work of my editor, Kjersti Egerdahl; Marketing Manager Jacque Ben-Zekry; and Author Relations Managers Tiffany Pokorny and Sarah Shaw.
As always, I want to thank my terrific and supportive husband, Lenny, for always being my rock. I would not have become the person I am now without him by my side for five decades. Our two sons, Jason and Andrew; their wives, Amanda and Jacqueline; and our five grandchildren, Rachel, Joshua, Jacob, Sienna, and Noah, round out my wonderful family; I’m so grateful for the support from each and every one of them.
Finally, I want to thank my readers. You are the reason I keep writing, and I hope I continue to entertain you with my stories.
