Bravery’s Sin: Masters’ Admiralty, book 5, page 33
Prior to his marriage, Mateo had been captain of the Spartan Guard, a position he’d had to give up upon marrying Cecilia and Dimitri. Mateo, who hoped to be a doctor one day, like his parents, had taken a leave of absence from medical school to come to Hungary with his spouses. Unfortunately, he couldn’t transfer to a medical school here, as he didn’t speak Hungarian.
Cecilia had fared better because she had a job she could do from anywhere. Which was fortunate because while Nyx had no financial acumen, Cecilia did. She was, in secret, teaching Nyx the basics of accounting and how to read budgets, quarterly reports, and other common financial documents.
Luckily, it turned out money wasn’t one of Hungary’s problems. Petro had amassed a fortune both personally and for the territory. Nikolett had asked Nyx to figure out if any of that money had been obtained illegally so they could return it.
It was on Nyx’s list. Her very long list. Her list used to consist of making sure to peer review articles for various academic journals, not checking for blood money.
“There’s something we have to talk about,” Grigoris said. “I told Nikolett it would be better if I talked to you about it.”
Nyx looked up at her new husband. Outside the window behind him, she could see the skyline of Budapest.
“What is it?”
“They officially found Petro’s body. Well, his head. It was ruled an accidental drowning.”
“And Hanna?”
“I don’t know. Do you want me to look into it?”
“No, I will. It’s my job.”
“A job I’m happy to help you with.”
They hadn’t talked about it yet, but Nyx hoped that once he was fully fluent in Hungarian, and conversational in at least one other language spoken in the territory, Grigoris would apply to be one of the harcosok. “Thank you,” she replied.
“There’s more.” Grigoris’ face was serious. “You were Petro’s heir.”
“What?” Shock made her shoulders tight.
“In his will, all his money, property…it all came to you.”
“That can’t be right. Hanna was his legal wife.”
“She wasn’t. He never legally married her, and she’s not listed in his will.”
“Why would he…” There was no point in asking that question.
“I’ll deal with it,” Grigoris assured her. “You don’t have to do anything.”
“Does it include the property in Lake Balaton?”
“Yes, why?”
Nyx stood and walked out of her office, across the hall, to Nikolett’s office. They’d decided to set up their new headquarters in a modest three-story building, with a nice café around the corner.
“Admiral,” Nyx said. “Would you like to go with me to blow up a building?”
“What building and why?” Nikolett didn’t look up from her computer screen.
“Petro’s estate in Lake Balaton. Apparently it’s mine. And I would like to blow it up.”
Nikolett tapped the last few keys, then turned and grinned. “Let me get my coat.”

Afterword
We, the authors of this book, apologize for any mistaken translations. Due to potential compatibility issues with different e-readers and software, we elected to use the English alphabet for all. For example, Greek words are presented in their English translation, rather than in the Greek alphabet. And because we are barely fluent in English, we relied heavily on Google translate and travel blogs.
