The only way they could be was if they found Triptolemus and helped him gain his memories back. What she’d overheard Demeter say had been clear on that at least.
Typical, the Goddess hadn’t said anything more helpful they could really use to track him down. But then, when was the last time a God or Goddess had ever been helpful? There was always the chance this Triptolemus would be as unhelpful for whatever Godly – or demi-Godly – reasons he had. Although, given this danger had something to do with him – or Korinna, or both – he was far more likely to fill them in than Demeter or her daughter.
She sighed.
So, aside from her lessons, there was a lot more research to get on with today. Not to mention, she still hadn’t found anything useful about how to break her connection with Dawn. Except of course, the entry in the grimoire she’d read months ago that suggested blood magic would do it – that under certain circumstances, it would create a stronger bond with someone else that would snap and supplement the life-force bond she shared with Dawn. What those circumstances were, it didn’t say. Not that she would ever consider using it. Who knew what more it might do to that precious little baby? Blood magic always asked for a price.
She shook her head to dispel the unpleasantness and threw the covers back. She needed a hot shower and a nice hot shot of espresso and then she could get on with her day.
