Grand Zhameen was already recovering from the goblin attack and would soon be ready to take on any other challenge it might face. Reports from the mayor were encouraging—more and more refugees were making their way to the city by the day, the population of the town growing.
Further to the east, General Lyra was in the process of drilling and training her troops, the armies comprised of human and monsterkin alike. Most of the soldiers were former refugees, barely able to defend themselves. Under Lyra’s harsh but skilled training, they were slowly but surely shaping up to be a fighting force capable of conquering the rest of the continent.
Uzax was nearby, training the wizards of the new army. The novice mages were lined up in neat rows, dressed in identical robes and clutching their wands with nervous anticipation. Uzax stood at the head of the group, gazing down the lines of young neophytes.
As the training began, Uzax’s voice boomed across the courtyard, instructing the novices in the art of channeling magical energy. Ben was impressed by the wizard’s command of the arcane, as well as his ability to communicate complex concepts to the novices.
Despite the trouble the mage had put Ben through, Ben was impressed by Uzax’s teaching style, and he made a mental note to consult with the wizard in the future about future training tactics. He could see the potential for great power in the novice mages, and he was eager to see what they could accomplish under Uzax's guidance.
“You see?” Melody’s voice brought him back to the moment. “You’ve done so much, Ben. This continent is nearly yours, and I have no doubt that you’ll easily be able to dispatch the other Bens and conquer the remaining two towers.”
Ben turned his attention to the horizon of the southwestern tower. As much as he wanted to remain confident, the fact of the matter was that they knew little about this Ben. He was known as the “Grand Strategist,” and he was said to be the most skilled general the continent had ever seen. Scouts had been dispatched in the direction of the tower over the last week, but none of them had returned. With each passing day, Ben became more and more certain that they would never be heard from again.
Melody placed her hand on his shoulder. “You’ve come so far, Ben. I’m proud to have been by your side the entire time.”
“And I’m proud that I could have you here with me. Fact of the matter is that I don’t know what I’d have done if you hadn’t been there to guide me and show me what I was capable of.”
She placed her purple-nail-tipped finger on her chin, glancing away in thought. “That’s right, Ben. You know, with all the help I’ve given you, maybe I should be the emperor.” She laughed after she spoke, shaking her head.
“Nice try,” Ben replied with a smile.
She shook her head, turning her body to face Ben. It was impossible for Ben to not let his eyes move over her body, to notice how impossibly sexy she looked in her garments. The clothes were a deep, blood red, and as he stood near her, he could see that they were thin enough to hint at the bra and panties she wore underneath. The sly smile that played on her lips made it clear that she wanted him to look, that it pleased her to have the emperor’s gaze on her body.
“I can’t tell you how pleased it makes me to serve you, Ben. And more than that, how pleased it makes me to be able to serve you in all ways. I know there are many other women who serve you, all of them eager to catch your eye and lavish you with… attention .” She grinned, a bit of mischief to her expression. “But I want to be the first of them. “You’ve done that many times already. And I have yet to get bored of it.” Ben gave the matter more thought. “In fact, the more intimate time we spend together, the more I crave it.”
Her purple eyes lit up. “That is exactly the same way I feel, Ben! In fact, even this conversation is making me feel… a certain kind of way.” She stepped closer to him, close enough that her breasts pressed against Ben’s chest. “My emperor, I spoke the truth when I admired these new garments of yours. All the same, I can’t help but wish that you weren’t wearing them.”

“I feel the same way,” Ben said. “I’ve wanted you out of these since the moment I saw you.”

Ben couldn’t resist her any longer. He wrapped his arm around her waist and pulled her close. He was already stiff and solid, pressing against her middle.
