The First Alpha, page 8
Now she felt Adam's hunger. His hands moved up along her body until they reached hers, and as he bucked his hips forward, grinding back and forth, sliding his cock rhythmically against her swollen clit, he pulled her hands roughly above her head and pinned them firmly to the ground. He dipped his head to her breasts once again, his hot breath playing against her firm, tight nipples as he thrust himself into her again and again. Cassie couldn't move an inch under his grip. She was completely at his mercy; his to enjoy. She'd expected it would be frightening to abandon control, but instead her frozen body only increased her arousal.
Cassie's mind shattered into a million pieces as Adam thrust powerfully into her depths. No longer did she feel that usual separation of her two halves. No longer was her wolf mind buried while her human thoughts prevailed. As the tight ball of ecstasy focused between her legs and she felt her climax approach, her wolf and human sides became one. Everything inside her melted together; her human intelligence mixed with the primal lust of the wolf, and both wolf and human relished the feeling of being controlled by the alpha above her.
Her eyes glazed over as her mind gave up the attempt to separate her from the wolf. Adam, his every muscle bulging as he held her down and slid himself into her depths, panted warm breath into her ear and he whispered an order. "Come for me, Cassie. Show me how much you love it."
The wolf inside was eager to obey, and her body was more than ready. With a mixture of a howl and a moan Cassie felt her pussy explode with pleasure, her climax flowing uncontrollably through her body as Adam came in the same moment. Her mind simply stopped functioning for a moment, giving up in the face of such relentless pleasure, as her muscles clenched tightly around Adam's perfect shaft as if milking his hot, glorious seed from him. She gasped as she felt her insides bathed in his come, her silky walls drenched with his gift as it sprayed powerfully from him.
He stayed inside her, panting, until their shared climax finally dimmed like the embers of the fire, and Cassie gazed at his sweat glistening body with glazed eyes, waiting for her heart to stop pounding like a hammer in her chest.
"Tell me you love me," he whispered close to her ear.
"I love you!" she replied, panting uncontrollably. She'd never spoken truer words.
Adam smiled and rolled from her, his dripping shaft sliding against her thigh as it popped from her tender pussy, and they lay gasping side by side, their skin glowing pink in the dim light.
"We should sleep," he whispered, wrapping a large hand around her waist and pulling her closer, as if he was hungry for more. "We have a long day ahead of us, and you'll need your rest."
Cassie nodded, holding herself blissfully against Adam's body and feeling the delicious heat of his manhood as it pressed firmly against her belly. She nestled her head into his shoulder and closed her eyes, certain she wouldn't sleep a wink lying so close to her new alpha's glorious body. She imagined waking him in the darkness, desperate to have him take her again.
"Tell me a story," she whispered, nuzzling her nose into the warmth of his neck. "I'll sleep if you talk to me."
"OK, then," Adam replied, reaching a hand up to gently stroke her hair. "I'll tell you about the moment I first felt your presence."

"Didn't your momma teach you how to read, son?"
Adam's eyes opened slowly, squinting in the bright sun that just now peeked over the top of the trees. His first thought was that his back ached, and it was only when he remembered he was lying on the uncomfortable steel rivets of a Charleston park bench that he realized why.
"Excuse me?" His voice croaked, his throat dry and scratchy.
The cop rattled his nightstick on the steel directly beside Adam's head. "I said, didn't you momma ever teach you how to read? Are you deaf, or are you just stupid?"
Adam swung his legs from the bench and sat up slowly, his every tight, knotted muscle protesting at the motion. Through blurry eyes the cop swam into focus, and as soon as the details presented themselves he knew he was in trouble. He recognized the type. Short. Skinny. Receding hairline. Perfectly pressed uniform, despite the fact that it must be - what - six, six thirty in the morning? It's funny how quickly a guy learns to judge a cop after he spends a few nights sleeping rough.
This one was a bully, plain and simple. Any hack psychologist would come to the same conclusion after two minutes. They'd quickly take an educated guess as to how the guy's teenage years had gone down. Bullied. Laughed at by the girls. Bitter about the attention they gave the jocks while always passing him by. Give a guy like that the slightest hint of power and he'd happily use it to act out his deepest, darkest revenge fantasies on anybody physically larger than him. Adam could tell by the way the cop swung his nightstick at his waist that it'd make a Freudian's head explode with the obvious symbolism.
Adam knew a little deference was called for. It would be all too easy to tear out the guy's throat before he could say another word, but he'd learned long ago that violence was the last resort. It rarely solved problems in the long run. Better to act meek.
"I'm sorry, officer, I just arrived in town late last night. I couldn't find a hotel, so I thought I'd catch a few winks until the tourist information center opened."
The cop grinned unpleasantly. He was clearly enjoying himself. "Oh, you thought, did ya? You just thought you'd lay down on one of our benches and catch yourself a nice little nap? Did you think to check the sign at the entrance before you helped yourself to a bed for the night?"
The urge to shift and bite the guy in the ass was almost overwhelming. "I'm sorry, sir, I didn't see any signs."
The nasty little runt of a cop laughed incredulously, as if Adam had just dipped his dick in the guy's morning coffee and taken a bite of his donut. He called out to the empty park as if speaking to an audience. "He didn't see the sign, ladies and germs! Didn't see the big, red sign that reads 'No Vagrancy' in huge letters. Well congratulations, Huck Finn, it looks like you've won yourself a stay in the lock up. We don't take kindly to bums around here. Come on, get up."
With that he slapped a set of cuffs around Adam's unresisting wrists and used his nightstick to nudge him from the bench. Adam tested the strength of the cuffs. He knew it would be the work of a moment to snap the connecting chain, and a moment more to shove that nightstick somewhere the cop really didn't want it, but he knew that patience would pay off in the long run. He knew his crime warranted no more than a slap on the wrist and a night in jail before he'd be on his way. Resisting arrest and assaulting an officer of the law, no matter how deserving a prick he might be, wouldn't be worth the candle. Control. It was all about control.
Adam remained silent on the drive back to the police station, ignoring the cop's wisecracks. It took every ounce of willpower he had to remain calm and compliant, but his silence paid off when the cop finally tired of playing to an unresponsive crowd. If anything Adam's calm disinterest pissed him off. He clearly liked it when his arrestees talked back, and he looked as if he was itching for an excuse to give his nightstick a workout.
It was only when the cop pulled into the parking lot behind the station that Adam felt it. It was like an itch deep under the skin, crying out to be scratched but unreachable. He couldn't explain it, but the urge to escape and head north east suddenly became overwhelming. At first Adam was confused. The direction led straight into the police station, as if there were something inside drawing him closer, but as the squad car moved behind the building he realized the magnetic force emanated from a point much more distant.
Go now! His subconscious seemed to cry out to him, insistent that he leave right away. The material world seemed to fall away, become thin and insubstantial, as if matter itself were of no consequence. The only real, solid thing in the world was whatever lay at the source of that desperate pull.
Almost as if in a trance Adam jerked his hands apart, snapping the chain of the cuffs with a sharp metallic clink. He leaned back on his seat, braced his arms against the headrest and kicked firmly at the locked door, sending it swinging on its hinges even as the cop approached it. The man's expression froze in terror, and Adam was out of the car and on his feet before he came to his senses and reached for his nightstick.
"I really am sorry about this," Adam said as he swung a hay-maker at the cop's head. He only gave the punch a fraction of his strength - with a concerted effort he could easily fracture a human skull - but it was more than enough to do the job. The cop crumpled to the floor in an instant and, pausing only to check his pulse, Adam reached into the squad car and activated the siren before athletically vaulting the chain link fence at the back of the lot.
He hid behind a dumpster for a moment, removing his clothes as he waited for cops to come streaming from the station to investigate the noise, and only moved when the unconscious body was discovered. Satisfied that his victim would be taken care of, Adam shifted and padded into alleyway leading to the road heading north out of town. This early in the morning the streets were deathly quiet, and the wolf walked unmolested until the buildings petered out and the countryside took over.
There was no telling how distant the target might be, or what it even was. All Adam knew was that that nothing was more important than seeking out the focus of the pull. For days he ran, stopping for rest only when his legs could no longer carry him. Around Richmond, Virginia he shifted and stole a set of ill-fitting clothes from a donation bag outside a thrift store, then hitched a ride with a northbound truck to Philadelphia, and another on to Albany.
From there he shifted once more and headed north along Highway 87, peeling off to the west when he felt the focus near. He moved through deep forest, pausing for water at remote lakes and hunting for just enough food to give him the energy to run.
It was there, deep in the Adirondacks, that a hunter caught a flash of gray fur and instinctively squeezed the trigger of his rifle. Adam fled into the deep undergrowth, desperate to evade the human, and ran straight into a pack of feral dogs. He bolted, knowing that his wound had left him too weak to fight off the pack. The only thing that kept him going, the only thing preventing his exhausted legs from collapsing beneath him, was the sense that the focus of his attraction was near.
And then he found her.
At first his injury had distracted him from realizing that Cassie was the focus of the pull. Even when he awoke in her kitchen he couldn't be sure if it was her or something else in the house. All he knew was that whatever had pulled him north across half the country was nearby, and it wasn't until the moment his lips touched hers that he realized the truth.
She was the woman he'd spent his entire life searching for.

Cassie dreamed.
Cassie remembered.
"Cassie and Joshua, sittin' in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G!"
Cassie slapped the girl's shoulder and blushed with embarrassment. "Shut up, Megan. I swear to God you sound so stupid. You are aware that you're about four hundred years too old to be singing that, right?"
Megan laughed. "You're only as old as the boy you feel, Cass, and right now I'm hooking up with a freshman."
"Christ, another one? Don't you ever get tired of sleeping around with these kids, Meg? I'm 21. I'm allowed to date college boys. You're old enough to be their great-great-great-great-great-cubed-grandmother. What do you even talk about? What could you possibly have in common?"
Megan frowned. "Talk? Who said anything about talking? I just push them between my legs and give them a mouthful of bush. I don't want to hear them actually speak."
Cassie shook her head and sighed. She loved Megan, and she appreciated the fact that her mother had sent her along to keep her company on campus, but she could never quite get her head around the way her friend managed to retain the mental age of a teenager after four centuries of life. She had absolutely no interest in anything beyond the next lay. She was fun to be around, sure, but sometimes it got tiring.
"Soooo, tell me about this new heartthrob of yours, Cass. All I know so far is his first name. When do I get to meet this gorgeous boy?"
Cassie snorted. "Um, how about never? I actually like this guy, Meg. I don't need you flashing your lady parts at him and scaring him away, like the last guy."
"The last guy? Oh, Steven! Well, you can't blame me for Steven. I didn't tell him to zip up so fast he almost sliced his cock off."
That had been... interesting. Just another of the seemingly endless improbable events that kept cropping up whenever Cassie got close to a guy. The first, Declan, a young Irish boy with perfect porcelain skin and a shock of red hair, had been arrested on a visa violation the night before Cassie had planned to offer him her virginity. Then had come Peter, a promising quarterback on a football scholarship who'd packed up his things, quit school and moved back to Iowa without so much as a goodbye just days after their second date. Finally there was Steven. He'd almost neutered himself in Cassie's bathroom when a naked Megan walked in on him taking a leak. Since then he'd refused to so much as speak to Cassie. He seemed terrified of her, for some reason.
"Whatever. You're not meeting this one, Megan. You're bad luck. Wherever you go chastity follows. It's as if you suck up all available cock in the area and keep it for yourself. No, this time nothing is gonna go wrong."
Cassie was sure she imagined it but it seemed as if a quick flash of anger passed across Megan's face, just for a moment, before she caught herself and broke into a teasing pout. "No fair, Cass. I tell you all about the boys I go out with. It's rude not to share."
"Yeah," laughed Cassie, "and I've told you time and time again I don't want to hear all the gory details of your love life. You can keep your conquests to yourself in future."
Megan stuck out her tongue playfully. "You can't hide him forever, Cass. There can't be too many Joshuas in school. Trust me, I'll track him down and make sure he's good enough for you."
Cassie scowled, frustrated by her friend's perseverance. "Seriously, Meg, just please leave this one alone. I'm not ready to present him to the world just yet. I just want to have some fun with him and see where it leads before I start introducing him to my friends. Just drop it, OK? Please? For me?"
"OK, OK!" Megan replied with an exasperated sigh. "I'll stay out of your way. There's no need to have a shit fit."

The story made the national news. The body of Joshua Truman was found hanging from an electrical cord in the bedroom of his apartment just two weeks after he and Cassie had begun dating, an apparent suicide. At first it wasn't a big deal for the media. Joshua had been a happy, popular and outgoing senior with plans to go on to medical school after graduation, to follow in his father's footsteps as a heart surgeon, and the local papers ran it as just another of those everyday tragedies that happen all the time: a seemingly happy kid with a golden future laid out in front of him had hidden demons. He hid his depression even from those closest to him, until one day it all became just a little too much for him to handle.
For days the local papers ran a series of articles about depression: how to spot the warning signs; where to find help when you have suicidal thoughts; the top five superfoods and the top ten iPhone apps to help blitz bad feelings. The usual crap.
It was only later that the national press caught on to the story, when the mortician found shreds of skin under the boy's nails. The cops went back to the scene and found signs of a struggle. The broken chair had initially been explained away by Joshua's frantic kicking as he jerked in his death throes. The mess on the floor was dismissed as - well, as the typical mess in any college kid's room. The handwriting on the suicide note wasn't a dead ringer for that of Joshua's term papers, but nobody had thought to question it.
With the new forensic evidence uncovered by the mortician the cops painted a new picture of how it had happened. There was no forced entry to the apartment. Joshua had let his killer in willingly. They'd gone back to his room, where a struggle had taken place. He was choked - the mortician found bruises around his windpipe that resembled thumbprints. They'd originally been missed thanks to sloppy police work.
Joshua had tried to fight back, scratching his assailant hard enough to break a nail. Once he'd been choked unconscious the killer had finished the job with the electrical cord, lifting him to the ceiling and leaving him to strangle himself to death.
The cops didn't have a clue how to proceed. No fingerprints were found at the scene apart from Joshua's and Cassie's. They actually called her down to the station and asked her to submit to a DNA test to rule her out as a suspect, but the results they got were inconclusive. Neither Cassie's sample nor the skin under Joshua's nails came up with any of the typical markers you'd expect to find in human DNA, and the lab spent weeks puzzling over what had gone wrong with their equipment.
The case was never closed. No motive could be found, and no suspect ever presented himself. The only thing the cops were sure about was that the killer was male. He must have been, to have been able to lift Joshua's well-built 190 pound frame to the ceiling. No woman could possibly have performed such a feat.
Cassie herself returned home for the rest of the year on compassionate leave, and Megan returned with her. Megan was ecstatic to be returning to the territory. On the flight south she seemed almost hyperactive, eager to see Evelyn again - Cassie's mother and Megan had always been close. Cassie, though, couldn't have been more depressed. She just couldn't get over the fact that this shit kept happening. She'd meet a guy, fall for him, and watch helplessly as he was snatched away by circumstances beyond her control.
