part #2 of Tear it Up Series
“The nature of the temple’s power,” I replied, remembering the way the carvings along the walls glowed and how you could siphon off some of said power. “I put two and two together.”
“If you can truly harness their power as only Master Shen could… I believe you will be able to open this gate.”
“But why does the temple want to do this?” I indicated Hinru. “Her, the Citadel… I get that. But why you?”
“Don’t you see?” Master Dawa turned to Hinru. “Show him.”
“I… don’t understand,” she admitted.
He offered her a gentle smile, then stepped over and took her hand in his, their gazes meeting. “Now… show him.”
It was like a wave of orange energy flowed from his chest to hers. Her head went back, and now purple waves of energy flowed off her, forming images above our heads. It was an old war. One army was made up of humanoid figures that resembled animals dressed in metal armor, while the opposing force consisted of huge figures like the colossus we had just seen. Many of them, and in various forms—wind, fire, water, earth. One even purple, with the mist rising off it in a way that reminded me of Hinru, oddly.
The enemy almost won but was instead pushed back, their way into our worlds closed off by supers with Hadrian in their midst.
“Hadrian knows… others know, too.” Master Dawa stepped back, releasing Hinru’s hands. “The force that is arrayed against us is too strong. While the new batch of Citadel Elders might be able to deliver the final blow, they cannot get there without help. This power, long lost and many years forgotten, can be the key. Whatever the temple’s personal agenda might be, it has to come second here. We must harness the power of the beyond, turn against our enemy, and save the universe.”
“Master Shen… he was part of this?”
Master Dawa nodded, a knowing look in his eyes. “He might have taken a dark path, but… he still had a role to play.”
I stared, completely blown away. All these years, I had looked at the temple as simply a training ground. Maybe a group of people whose teachings and beliefs were outdated, obscure and pointless in today’s age.
How wrong I had been.
They were prepared to do what was necessary to stand at the Citadel’s side and make a difference in this war, and I would be the centerpiece that brought it all together.
“I’m in,” I said.

As the monks prepared to take me back to the Temple of Domren, my team and Hinru joined me in a separate room the Hermites used for special guests. It felt off, being a guest to such a group, but I was beginning to wonder if all of this superheroes-versus-villains bullshit was all a big distraction from what really mattered—saving the universe.
When I’d set out to arrest people via the bounty hunter system, I thought I would be doing the universe some good, taking out one horrible person at a time. Something on this scale would have been incomprehensible back then.
Cheri had a bath running, and while we didn’t have time for anything kinky, she was washing my back, massaging me, and occasionally giving me a caress around front for the enjoyment of it on her side. I had taken the time to go over my two levels of upgrades, adding to my stats and enhancing my empath push and healing. One skill allowed my mental push to serve as not only emotional changes but also crippling mental strikes, while the healing effect seemed to maybe allow actual, physical healing. Both would prove extremely useful, I was certain.
“I don’t understand,” Tink admitted, sitting on the edge of the tub, one finger dangling into the water. “How are these soul gems—”
“Core gems,” I corrected her.
“Okay, core gems. Supra tech what-have-its. They must do something special if you think they’re going to make a difference against whatever was on the other side of that portal.”
“Honestly, I don’t know if it’ll be enough. But it’s all we have.”
“Not all,” Erupa countered. “The darkness…”
“Oh, I meant to ask…” I perked up and turned her way. “Before, you were… using it?”
She nodded. “Not so much using it as able to manipulate it, I found out. It’s crazy, but not so different from some element we had back on my planet. There, I kind of pulled it into me, and it’s how I learned to do the shadow strike and whatnot. This is like the cousin of that stuff. I can sense it, pull it around, do things with it. I think we can use the darkness to at least restrain those things.”
“What do we call them?” Mer asked.
I shrugged. “They’re huge. Best I can come up with is colossus. Like, the first was a wind colossus, then… brimstone? Stone? I don’t know.”
“Sure, but going back to the matter at hand,” Tink said. “How is what you have at the temple going to help?”
“Ah, right.” I drew a deep breath, trying not to think about the last guy I knew that tried to harness the power of the core stones on his own. For a few minutes it had been unthinkable power running through him, then… pain, screaming, power seeping out through his skin along with his blood. He had fucking exploded. My best bet was to ignore that and hope I was much more advanced than he had been. Trying to put on a confident smile, I explained, “The core stones constantly give off a power-enhancing effect, but if one were to take them for him or herself, we’re talking extreme amplification. And more than that, I think, but nobody really knows. They are actually metal, so calling them stones is a bit off, but the point remains—whoever uses them, if the stones allow, becomes very powerful, indeed.”
“So, why isn’t Master Daewoo out there using them?” Cheri asked.
“Master Dawa,” I corrected her. “And because he’s definitely not powerful enough.”
“But you are,” a voice from the back of the room said. I turned, realizing it was Hinru. I’d completely forgotten she was there, and chuckled to myself. She was sitting on the bed, looking away.
“I hope so,” I replied.
“Are you all… I mean, is this how you conduct meetings?”
“Sorry, yes,” Erupa replied with a laugh.
“It’s kind of gotten to the point where we don’t even think about it,” Tink chimed in.
“Speak for yourself,” Cheri said, pressing her bare breasts against my back, both hands on my balls, moving up to my cock. “It’s all I can think about right now. You’re sure we don’t have more time?”
The others chuckled, the comment earning a nervous glance from Hinru.
“You heard Maji,” I said. “The other hunters were right behind. They’re thrown off because of the Hermites, but that won’t last forever.” The Hermites insisted their power of illusion would only hide them from a certain range. If the hunters came within it, we would be in trouble.
“They weren’t far behind us, either,” Mer said, emerging from the bath opposite me. She had been in there so long, I’d nearly forgotten she was there.
“You can hear down there?” I asked.
“And see. On that note… nice view.” She winked, emerging from the tub and accepting a towel from Erupa. Her eyes met Hinru’s, I noticed, and both seemed to blush before looking away. Whatever game they were playing, I found it adorable.
“Warning,” I said, taking my cue to stand and grab a towel, out of politeness keeping my back to Hinru as much as possible.
The others bathed quickly as I dressed, and my eyes wandered. My yearning would have to wait, though, because we had a mission to get to.
“So, when we get to the temple, how do we get the stones?” Cheri asked. “I mean, do you just walk up and take them?”
I laughed, although it couldn’t hide my nervousness in regard to the answer to her question.
“It’s much more complicated than that,” I replied.
Cheri stepped over, arms around my chest from behind. “As long as we win, or at least die in each other’s arms, I’m happy.”
I turned and kissed her, then looked around at the rest of the team and smiled. If it came to dying, at least having tried and died with them at my side would be worth it.
“Can we hurry up?” Tink said, now drying off, careful with her fairy wings. “All this bathing got me hot and bothered. The sooner we save the world—er, universe—the sooner we can have fun again.”
“Fucking right,” I said, adjusting the bulge in my pants so as not to make Hinru any more uncomfortable than we already had, and gestured to the door. “Come on, it’s time I give you a tour of the temple. The place I once considered home.”
They actually seemed excited by that, and as we headed out to meet with the other two temple monks to begin our journey, I had to admit I was looking forward to everything that lay ahead.
Hey, at least we were together. Nothing else mattered.
THE END
Author Ramblings
Thank you for reading my sequel to Psychobitches! I hope you enjoyed reading it and see why you need to jump right into the third book. It’s going to follow Ezra to the temple, where we can dive more into some of what all this is and see that he’s going to play a large role in this battle.
Are you curious about the colossus and more of the other beings? Well, there’s another book series you can read to get more into that, and it actually follows the two people who have a connection to Lamb from the Ex Gods book. Kind of interesting? I hope so! Charley Case and I have been working on that, and it’s a lot of fun.
If you’re interested, check out SUPERS: RISE UP. It’ll also tie in much more to the third book in this series.
Would you like to know more about what’s coming up? Make sure to join my Facebook group, but also find my newsletter so you can be sure to never miss a release. As for now, you’ll have likely read Ex Heroes and Ex Gods, but if not, get on it. I think reading Ex Heroes one through four makes sense before Psychobitches, and since Ex Gods one through three take place at the same time as Ex Heroes, you should read those before Psychobitches, also. But you don’t have to! One of my goals here was to set up all of these books so that the series can stand alone, so that you don’t need to read all of them if you don’t want to, but can if you want a full, rich, layered world.
At the time of this writing, I have done two standalone spinoffs to the supers books. The first was Charm School Outcasts, which follows the Ex Heroes character, Charm, in a prequel to those books. The second was Supers: Ex Succubus, which is a fun book that has a bonus chapter as a reward for signing up to my newsletter. Same with Ex Gods, actually—there’s a bonus scene with Cheri, Charm, and Threed you can get by joining the newsletter. So don’t forget to sign up for that.
I have other books that aren’t in the universe as well. For example, my book STONE COLD MAGE launched well, reaching number one in several categories on Amazon. If you like magic and gargoyles, check that out. You can find it and my novels about pirates, fairy tales, and more on Amazon. Be sure to click on the follow link below my author photo!
Again, thank you for reading. I hope you’ll stick with me. You keep reading, I’ll keep writing.
Thanks!

About the Author
Jamie Hawke
After working on Marvel properties and traveling the world, Jamie Hawke decided to settle down and write fun, quirky, and sexy pulp science fiction and superhero books. Are they all harem? Oh yeah. Oh yeahhhh.
It all started when Jamie was eleven, creating nude superhero comics with his best friend. What perverts! But hey, they were fun and provided good fodder for jokes up into their adult years. Now the stories have evolved, but they capture that same level of fun. Hopefully you will enjoy them as much as the author loved writing them!
