Pack Possessed, page 22
part #4 of Thrown to the Wolves Series
It isn't over the top crazy like I’d feared it would be, or jam-packed with the things they’d want to buy me I’d otherwise refuse, using this as an excuse to get away with it. In the center is a massive bed big enough to comfortably fit all of us, the bedding black and silver, and I’m pretty sure I’m going to have to block out an entire afternoon to change the sheets. There’s an antique wooden trunk at the foot of the bed, and beside a fully-stocked, built-in bookcase in one of the stone walls, a computer desk with a chair that won’t be murder on my back. A mini fridge is tucked beneath it, a basket on top loaded with snacks. On the opposite side is a fireplace with a TV mounted above it, and that’s it with the exception of two more doors.
Crossing to the trunk first, I open it and immediately break into laughter. It’s full to bursting with an abundance of brand-new sex toys, packed in so carefully that as soon as I sift through it a little, I ruin the careful tetrising they had to do to fit it all and can’t fully close the lid. Leaving that for future-me to fix, I head for the door in the left corner first. It leads to a walk-in closet only a little smaller than the bedroom with a wide array of clothes, a full-length mirror, and a small jewelry selection.
The other door reveals an attached bathroom. Though they kept to the castle theme, all stone and black marble, they clearly spared no expense. On the opposite wall of the sink and toilet is a hot tub large enough to accommodate all eight of us, but straight ahead? A few steps lead to a single bath set in an alcove with a bay window, the ledge wide enough to comfortably accommodate the bottle of wine and glass pre-laid out. Built into the wall at the foot of it is another TV behind a waterproof shield, and I can already imagine how many hours I’m going to waste lounging in it.
Returning to the bedroom and my seven nervous mates, I can only grin. “It's tastefully built for maximum comfort, and absolutely perfect. I love it.”
Damian sheepishly rubs the back of his neck. “We might have gone a little overboard the first eight attempts, but on the bright side, we have a decade’s worth of gifts on hand in case someone forgets something important.”
Bo leans against the wall with his arms crossed, a smug look on his face, so it doesn’t take a genius to figure out he had a hand in the final design. “We can store the fancy shit in other parts of the house. Your room is supposed to be the space you're most comfortable in, and there are only a few things that Sabrina really needs.”
Hunter ticks off on his fingers. “Naps, snacks, and a good book after a better fuck. Could have shaved a year off of the wait if they’d listened to me and Bo in the beginning.”
Grinning ear to ear, I take a step back. “Well, I have been struggling to get into any book I pick up lately. Maybe there’s a reason for that.”
They prowl closer, working seamlessly together. The twins descend on the trunk to pick a few things out as the others begin to strip and Slade tosses me on the bed. “Let’s see if we can break you out of that reading slump then, shall we?”
A handful of things are tossed onto the mattress beside me, and I push up on my elbows to make sure I’m not crazy, raising an eyebrow. “Are we building a miniature boat? I can’t tell if this is a propeller, or a handheld fan.”
With a laugh, Kaige steals it from me, popping off the circular cover and pressing it against the side of my wrist before switching it on as a demonstration. “Silicone tongues.”
“It’s official, I’m in love.”
Aurelia snorts a laugh. “That’s what convinced you?”
Can you blame me? It turns out playing with my demons is a hell of a lot more fun than trying to outrun them.
