The three of them sat in a tense silence while Declan drove, and Setsuna stared out her window, watching the nice suburb slowly become dilapidated and grungy. She realized that they were in a rougher part of the town once Declan crossed some train tracks. Damian pulled up into a driveway making Declan pull over on the side of the street. Damian climbed out of his car and quickly walked up the front steps to the house, knocking, before entering. It was a dirty looking place. The windows looked as if they hadn’t been cleaned in a long time and the front yard was mostly barren. One window on the top floor was missing a piece glass, and a plank of wood was there instead.

Declan gave a low whistle. “Now, what could our good friend Damian Troy be doing in a place like this?”

Faye frowned. “We need to get closer.”

Declan turned to her with a grin. “On foot?”

She nodded and opened the passenger door, but paused to glance back at Setsuna who was frozen still in the backseat. “Stay here Setsuna, and keep a lookout for trouble.” The bleeder could only nod as both Faye and Declan slammed their doors shut and made their way sneakily towards the house.

Suddenly, she felt very alone and a little bit scared now that they were gone. Looking out her window at the flickering streetlight the darkness of the night felt very ominous. How was she supposed to keep a look out if she didn’t have a cell phone? She shook her head and watched as Declan and Faye disappeared into the backyard of the house Damian had entered. What was she supposed to do here? Setsuna wondered and glanced at the clock on Declan’s dashboard. It was nine o’clock, and her aunt was probably worried sick. If she didn’t call her and let her know that she would be coming home late her aunt might do something radical.

She sighed and looked up at the sky. It was supposed to be a new moon next week. The sliver up in the sky only offered a little bit of light, and for some reason, most of the houses along the street had no light coming from them. Not even the flickering blue light of a TV was noticeable behind anyone's blinds. She shuddered, and looked back to where Declan and Faye had disappeared, only to see two dark figures heading in her direction. Her heart leaped into her throat as she gripped her seatbelt tightly. Was that Declan and Faye?

The figures advanced on her, and her breath became shallow as fear filled her. Suddenly, one of the figures walked under the light of the streetlamp and Setsuna released a shaky breath as Faye’s shock of chocolate spikes were illuminated closely followed by Declan’s giant figure. Within minutes the two of her friends had climbed into the car, and Declan started up the engine.

“Well, that was fun.” The boy grinned.

  “What did you see?”

Faye glanced back to her. “We managed to find a window without blinds, and luckily, it was the one for the basement. Apparently, that’s where they’re keeping their supply. We saw several boxes, as well as a guy placing several injections of what could only have been red haze, into them.”

Setsuna gasped. “What should we do? Should we tell the police?”

Declan and Faye shared a look. “Nah. We’re going to destroy it ourselves.”

“We are?” she asked in trepidation.

Faye smirked back at her. “It’s about time you planned your first perfect crime.”

  “I don’t think that’s a good idea,” Setsuna mumbled.

“I think it’s a great idea!” Declan grinned.

  “But--”

Faye interrupted her. “Setsuna, it will be fun.”

The bleeder paused and met the pale eyes of the older girl. They held a glint of mischief, and she suddenly felt the urge to make the other girl laugh. It was as if sharing in joy with these two people was now more important than anything.

“Come on girly!” Declan called out. “You only live once, right?”

She nodded slowly, and Faye cheered. “Great! Have a plan ready by tomorrow. We will discuss it during our club.”

Setsuna nodded again and turned to look outside the window. For once, Declan wasn’t driving like a maniac. She sighed. Hopefully, she wouldn’t regret this. When the bleeder got home that night, her aunt yelled at her for a good twenty minutes. When Setsuna explained that she would have called but didn’t have a cell phone, her aunt agreed to buy her one, which was a surprise but appreciated. Afterward, Setsuna went up to her room and began to plan.

  Chapter Nine

The next day, after school, Setsuna laid it all out for Declan and Faye to hear.

“We need a bomb,” was the first thing she stated.

  “A bomb?” Declan asked.

She nodded. “It’s the best way to go about it.”

Declan grinned. “Leave that bit to me then.”

“We also need smoke bombs,” she added thoughtfully. “In case anything happens and we need to escape.”

He nodded. “I know how to make those as well.”

Setsuna nodded and placed a piece of paper with a floor plan printed on it down on the desks. “Is that the plan for the house?”

Setsuna nodded. “It was on a website. The house had been for sale only about three years ago. I don’t think there have been any modifications. The basement is here.” She pointed to the plan.

  Faye nodded. “That looks right.”

Setsuna smiled. “How big was the window you looked through?”

Faye thought for a moment then glanced at Declan. “I could fit through it with no problem, but it would be too small for Declan.”

She nodded. “That’s what I suspected. It would be best for Faye to enter through the window and plant the bombs on the supply. They Declan will help you out, and you will close the window before setting off the bombs. We will make sure you have a smoke bomb in case someone shows up, but it should be done quickly.”

The two of them nodded. “What is our escape strategy,” Declan wondered.

Setsuna frowned. “Declan’s car is too memorable, and Faye’s car is also a noticeable vehicle. There are many alleyways and small spaces in the area. I suggest we plant bikes in one of those spots. Once we set off the bomb, we should split up so as not to be caught easily. We will run to where we placed our bikes and then ride them to a where we will park our cars. Declan will drive his car, but I will go with Faye.”

  “Why’s that?” he asked.

“You are strong. If Faye gets into trouble, I may not be much, but I can help her so that we may both escape unscathed.”

He nodded. “Sounds good to me. When do we do it?”

“On the night of the new moon.”

  Faye frowned. “Why then?”

“It will be a darker night and give us more cover. Although the owner will be in the homes during that time it will easier for us to escape without being seen.”

  Faye nodded. “Okay.”

Setsuna released a breath and smiled. “Good.”

“So, it will probably take me about a week to get the bombs made. I know how to make a few but I’ll have to buy the supplies, and I can only work on it when my dad is at work. I think I can have it ready by Monday.”

She smiled. “That is acceptable. We will plan to do this Monday night, then. Does that work?”

The other two nodded. The week went by quickly as they three of them worked out the smaller details of the plan during their club hours and soon it was Monday. They had placed their bikes the on Sunday night and secured them with bike chains. Setsuna placed her bike along with Faye’s while Declan’s was in the opposite direction. After school, they changed into dark clothing inside Declan’s car. Then, they waited until night fell.

  * * *

Setsuna’s heart thudded in her chest, and she was fighting back a nosebleed while playing lookout. Her new phone buzzed, and she pulled it out, glancing at the screen.

‘In position. Are you ready, kid?’

She smiled and typed back. ‘Yes. Begin. Be careful Faye-san.’

She slipped the device back into her pocket and glanced around the yard. The neighborhood was quiet, and the dark was a bit terrifying especially since they were committing a crime even though they were committing it against criminals. Suddenly, headlights caught her attention, and she pushed herself flush against the brick of the house and watched. The sound of a boy's voice caught her attention and Damian climbed out of the car. Setsuna pulled her phone out and quickly texted. ‘Damian is here. You must hurry.’

She held her breath as she watched the feeder walk to the front door, knock, then enter. Just as the front door closed behind him, a loud bang went off disturbing the quiet of the night. Setsuna’s heart hammered in her chest as the front door flew open, and Damian ran outside coughing while bent over.

“What the fuck!” he cried out.

Someone grabbed her shoulder making her release a squeak, and she spun around only to see Faye holding a finger to her lips. “Come on; we have to go,” she whispered and dragged Setsuna behind her as they crept into the neighbor's yard. There was a lot of yelling and cursing coming from behind them, but soon they were running down an empty alleyway. Faye pulled Setsuna to a stop by two bikes that were chained to a pole. She quickly unlocked them, and soon the two girls were off.

Even though she suggested it as the best way to escape, Setsuna soon realized that she was more out of shape then she thought. They had to stop several times on their way to where Faye had parked her car. Faye, on the other hand, had hardly broken a sweat. Luckily, the older girl was very patient, and no one was currently chasing them. Panting, they finally made it to her car and placed both bikes in the trunk, securing them with bungee cords as the trunk wouldn’t close with them.

The car ride to Faye’s house was done in silence. They had decided that Setsuna should spend the night to give them enough time and not alert her aunt to any of their activities. It wasn’t until Faye was leading her up to her room that Setsuna realized something important. All along the walls of the hallways and even in the living room, were pictures of Declan and his family. There were also a few pictures of Faye and Declan standing next to a man that looked like an older Declan.

Setsuna didn’t say anything until Faye closed her bedroom door. “You live with Declan?”

Faye sighed and pulled off her boots. “Yeah.” She grunted and sat down on her full sized bed.

“I thought he was your boyfriend?” Setsuna took a seat next to her; she had taken her shoes off downstairs.

Faye rolled her eyes. “He’s actually my half-brother.”

  Setsuna frowned. “You’re siblings?”

Faye flopped back on the bed. “Yep!”

  “I don’t understand.”

“There’s a lot of things you don’t know about me, kid,” Faye grunted and suddenly sat up and climbed off her bed. She walked over to her dresser and picked up a framed photo which she handed to Setsuna.

The Asian girl gasped. “That’s me.”

She looked up questioningly. “Yeah. That’s a picture of you and me.”

Setsuna traced the pale face of a young Faye. She had a mischievous smile on her face while she was hugging an obviously shy Setsuna to her as if they were best friends. “But how?”

Faye sighed. “I’m not surprised you don’t remember. It was only for a short time. You lived with your aunt for a while when you were younger. It was around the time when I had moved out of my father's house. I came to live here with Declan and our mother. One day I kicked a ball into your yard…”

As Faye spoke, the memory suddenly began to play back in Setsuna’s mind as she remembered what had happened next.

  * * *

A seven-year-old Setsuna was sitting down in her aunt's front yard while playing with her teddy bear. The young girl was bored to death. She had been watching the two other kids playing catch with a large blue bouncing ball in the neighbor's yard. She wanted to play with them. Suddenly, the blue ball rolled up next to her.

“Hey!” A girl who looked to be about her age ran up to her. She was covered in dirt and grass stains. Setsuna shrank back when her glowing blue eyes connected with the other girls pale red. She was a feeder.

“Hey.” The other girl said again but more softly as she stared at Setsuna as if in a trance.

She was broken from it when the boy called out for her to hurry up and get the ball. She shook her head and bent down to retrieve it. Then she turned around to jog off, but stopped and turned back to Setsuna, who had been quiet. “Do you want to play with us?”

Yes! She really wanted to. She wanted to so bad, but she was scared. Scared of her mother yelling at her for getting dirty and afraid that this other girl would hurt her. Her instincts told her that this girl was dangerous, but her heart warmed in her presence. Her mouth opened but no sound came out. The other girl frowned, only to suddenly reach back and grab Setsuna’s hand, dragging the smaller girl to her feet.

“Don’t think so hard about it, kid. It’s just a game of catch.” The girl smiled a toothy grin, making Setsuna’s heart stutter, and her blood stir.

“Are you sure it’s okay?” she mumbled.

The girl nodded. “I won’t let my brother hurt you. Promise.” Her hold tightened reassuringly around Setsuna’s hand.

The younger girl gave a small smile and nodded back. “My name is Yuunagi Setsuna.”

  “I’m Dominique Faye.”

  “Faye-san,” Setsuna replied.

Faye scrunched up her face but shrugged and pulled the bleeder behind her. “I’ll let you call me that, but only you. Just drop the san, kid.”

“Yes!” Setsuna chirped and hurried to keep up with Faye’s longer strides.

  * * *

Setsuna came out of the memory and looked up to Faye in shock. How could she have forgotten about that summer before she had left with her parents to live in Tokyo? It hadn’t been long, but now that she remembered, it had been fun! It had meant something. How could she have forgotten it all? “I’m sorry,” she whispered.

Faye shrugged. “It’s okay. It just wasn’t important to you like it was to me.”

“No!” Setsuna shot up “It was! It was very important!”

Shock settled on Faye’s face as she nodded. “But you didn’t remember.”

“I do now! It…it…Tokyo was hard for me. Japan was hard for me. I never…I didn’t fit in well…I just struggled to survive, to be part of everything but I never was no matter how hard I tried. I was hated. I began to forget my childhood because it was painful. I’m sorry that I forgot you too. I didn’t mean to. You were important to me Faye-san. You are very important to me even now! I don’t-“

Warm lips claimed her own cutting her off. A silky tongue slid across her own, and she moaned as a warm hand buried deep in her dark locks pulling her face impossible closer. Setsuna dropped the photo and wrapped her arms around Faye, gripping her shirt as if it were a lifeline. Her blood was hot in her veins as it rose to her skin as if to try and leave her body and enter Faye’s. She scrapped her tongue along an elongated fang, and Faye groaned and walked the Asian girl backward until her knees touched the bed and Faye pushed her back onto.

“I want you Setsuna,” she whispered, and she trailed kisses down the younger girl's face and neck.

“Faye.” Setsuna gasped when a sharp fang ghosted along her skin giving her goose bumps.

“I want to be inside of you, and I want you inside of me.” A warm tongue snaked out to trail down her neck, and Setsuna arched up into her letting Faye slip a hot hand under her shirt and rest on her stomach.

“Will you let me? Do you want this?”

Setsuna nodded as she gripped at Faye, trying to draw her closer. Faye smirked against her shoulder where she had bit the girl gently. “You have to say it.”

“I want you. God, I want you so bad.” Setsuna cried out when Faye sank her fangs into her shoulder. Pleasure mixed with pain causing stars to burst behind her eyelids. The fangs were gone as soon as they had come and Faye gently sucked at the wounded groaning as the bleeder blood entered her system. Faye drew back and pulled off her shirt. She Asian girl blushed but sat up to let the feeder take off her shirt as well. Faye smirked and unbuttoned Setsuna’s bra, tossing it over her shoulder before her own joined it. The feeder took a minute to appreciate the other girl before slowly pushing her back onto the bed.

When their breast met, hot skin on smooth hot skin, they both gasped out. Setsuna whined as her blood raced through her veins almost painfully. “Faye, please!” She breathed.

“It’s okay. I got you, baby.” Faye cooed as she moved down the younger girl's body and sank her teeth into a pert breast.

Setsuna moaned and gripped a hand into mahogany locks. “More! Take more Faye.”

Faye drank from the bleeder before pulled back and taking a pink nipple into her warm depths and sucking it. She used one hand to unbuckle Setsuna’s jeans while her right hand massaged the other breast. Setsuna tried to grind into the girl on top of her to relieve some of the aches that had begun to build in her center but groaned when she couldn’t get any friction through her jeans. Faye chuckled and pulled back to bore her crimson gaze into frustrated glowing blue.

  “Something wrong.”

  “Take them off,” Setsuna whined.

  “What’s the magic word?”

“I want you to touch me.” Setsuna blushed at the words that left her mouth. She couldn’t control herself anymore. She just needed more. More of everything. More Faye. “I want all of you, Faye,” she whispered.

The feeder’s smirk turned into a soft smile. “I will give you everything tonight.” Then she reached down and dragged off the other girl's jeans before pulling off her own pants and kneeling between two smooth thighs. Setsuna wrapped her legs around the older girl as soon as she settled between them and began to rub up against her. Faye trailed a hand down her stomach making her shiver and came to rest above her panties.

Setsuna’s blood burned in her veins down to her center making it ache painfully. As if sensing this Faye trailed kissed down her chest, stomach, stopping to sink her fangs into the inside of her thigh and suck a moment, before finally pulling off the younger girls underwear and boldly sliding her tongue against wet silky flesh. Setsuna groaned and thrust her hips upwards but was held still by strong hands. She felt the feeder grin against her most sensitive spot.
