Grave Witch, page 18
Gilbert snorted. "Yeah, I'm sure Gertrude would be pleased if we added more to the electricity bill."
Ah, yeah, Kage hadn't considered the additional costs. "I think there are wood-burning ones." Oh, he'd get one for Christmas. He was sure they were expensive, but it would be worth it. Gilbert loved sitting on his porch. Kage leaned over and kissed his cheek, right on the scar. "There are always blankets."
"Yeah." Gilbert smiled, but Kage would get him a wood-burning patio heater or whatever they were called. It would be awesome.
"I love sitting here." He took a deep breath. "With you."
Gilbert raised an eyebrow at him.
"What?"
"Nothing. It's...you don't normally say things like that."
Kage shrugged. "I walked out of the station earlier, pissed at Hamilton, frustrated with the whole situation, but then I thought about how I don't want to be anywhere else, with anybody else. All I want is to come home to you at the end of the day."
Gilbert kissed his temple. "It's all I want too, for you to come home to me at the end of your day."
Kage snuggled closer, the armrest digging into his side, but he didn't care. He was exactly where he wanted to be.
