Tristan had left for Rohap a month ago, an Elv guide in tow to help him navigate the forest there and back, and Kody was just beginning to think he might never return. That is, until Kody received the message three minutes ago that he had just arrived via the river.

Kody took the winding path through the city to the river at a run, dodging and apologizing to the Elv and Hu she passed until she encountered a small group of Hu, led by the most handsome man she’d ever seen. She flung her arms wide and they collided, him catching her up in his strong arms and squeezing tight.

“Sorry, things took longer to wrap up than I thought,” Tristan said. He kissed her cheek and was then abruptly shoved out of the way.

“Hi! I’m Sam, your new best friend,” a pretty girl with jet black hair, porcelain skin, and a friendly grin said.

“Actually, I’m going to be your new best friend,” a girl about a foot shorter with lovely eyes and long box braids said, shoving Sam out of the way. “I’m Kat! You spoke to my brother Thomas before.”

“Are we just gonna pretend like we didn’t ride giant frogs here?”

Kody searched for the man who said it. He was a few inches shorter than her with a light brown complexion and straight black hair cut long on top. An identical man stood next to him, looking reserved while observing his surroundings.

It took her a moment, but she realized they were all speaking English, her ears buzzing with the sudden homesickness of it all.

“Yeah, trying really hard to forget the frogs, Kirk. Please don’t remind me,” a tall man she thought was Thomas said.

“You can always walk back if you prefer.”

“Guys, can we please not embarrass ourselves in front of the Elv?”

“Nah, Elv hospitality is the best. Just relax, babe.”

  “How would you know?”

They continued arguing in circles and Kody met Tristan’s eyes as he stood just off to the side, his arms crossed. He looked just as broody as the day she met him, and she reached out a hand. He took it and pulled her close, the broody gloom melting away.

“They were waiting for me at the Snarled Cello when I got back, and insisted on meeting you,” he said, his eyes warming by the moment.

“How did things go?” Kody asked.

Tristan nodded. “Good. I left some equipment at the river down south. Apparently the Elv have rafts for bringing heavy loads upriver.”

“So you packed everything you need?” Kody asked, nervous to even ask.

Tristan pressed a grin against her cheek before kissing the same spot. “If you’re asking if I packed up my whole life and brought it here to move in with you, the answer is yes.”

Kody laughed and wrapped her arms around his neck, unable to keep in her joy. “Good,” she said before kissing him properly.

The story of the Twoshy continues…

Prince Kamron lives a charmed life. Growing up with the knowledge of a family curse set to sabotage any of his life pursuits, he discovered a secret to evading grief. If he never truly wanted anything, he could never lose. Instead of wanting, Kam set his aim to see if he could make things happen, purely for curiosity. Get his stogy governess fired? That was easy. Get the capital of his country moved closer to his best friends house? A little harder, but not a problem. Living without want is easy when you have everything you need.

Unfortunately for our prince, his genius plan finds a massive flaw when he finds someone he adores and begins to imagine a life with her. Follow along on this harrowing tale in Unseen Consequences.

  About the Author

Heather Michelle is an emerging author of young adult fantasy. She lives in Acworth, GA with her cats; Fitzwilliam, and Mister Bingley, and a slew of unique roommates.

Growing up, Heather Michelle spent more time living in her imagination than outside of it. Small town life sandwiched between the redwood forests and the Pacific ocean provided a rich scope for the imagination. Before the age of twelve, Heather Michelle was not a reader, but a chance encounter with a rented audiobook launched her into the vast world of the printed word, and she never looked back.
