Lost Revenge II, page 9
“Clank, clank, clank, clank.”
“Hiss. Hiss.”
We both back off several steps.
“Click, click, click.” The door is sliding open from the middle.
“Don’t move! Or we shoot!” A coarse voice rushes out and echoes.
“We are not moving.” Asuak says while moving backward.
“Asuak? Is that you?” The voice now becomes much friendlier.
“Yes. Who is this?” Asuak shouts cautiously.
Heavy footsteps close in and a tall figure appears at the door, followed by several small ones.
“It is really you. We all thought you died in the last mission.” The tall figure says excitedly and lowers his gun. He is almost as tall as me, muscular type, same blue skin and red eyes as Asuak. He has freckles which kind of cover the sign on his forehead, a triangle with several lines in it. He must be a Commander as well.
“Beiqaiek!” Asuak shouts and grabs the tall figure’s shoulder. They are so excited and don’t know what to say for a while.
“You are back. You are back!” Beiqaiek sounds like he is going to cry.
“I am back thanks to him. He is a human.” Asuak says happily and points at me.
“Oh, hi. We are Agriens. Thank you so much for saving my friend.” Beiqaiek grabs my shoulders. I guess that equals hugging. I am not sure how Beiqaiek will react after Asuak tells him the whole story.
The other three Agriens smile at me politely.
“What happened? Why you and your crew are here?” Asuak asks quickly.
Beiqaiek let out a long sigh and his crew lower their heads.
“Glycan attacked us. I mean a full scale war. All fleets involved. We held the ground for a long time, like five years, and then Glycan punched through our defense. My crew and I were fighting at the front line. We were hit and my ship crashed not far from here. These three and I were the only survivors.” Beiqaiek says in a low tone.
“When was this?” Asuak sighs.
“About three months ago. Thanks to Asarue, we are able to save a lot of lives from the retreat.”
“My sister is alive?” Asuak says with a start.
“She came back soon after we lost contact on you and your crew.”
“What about your family?” Asuak asks carefully.
“I don’t know. Hope they are hiding somewhere just like others.” The light in Beiqaiek’s eyes fades out.
“We will find them. Your family, my family and the families of your crew. Now we have a ship. We can leave here.” Asuak pats Beiqaiek’s shoulder. “But before that, I need to do something for my human friend.”
Asuak tells Beiqaiek about reviving my Lily and we descend to the lab deep into the mountain.
Beiqaiek’s three crews are Leiwu, Diepowp and Xsowei. They look the same to me.
Asuak tells me that the operation to revive Lily is strictly controlled in their culture. Any such procedure has to be proved by the leader of their species. Fortunately for me, the leader is probably hiding somewhere right now.
We enter into a huge room, the size of a warehouse. It is white, clean and empty except a table at the very center.
“Let’s get started.” Asuak says and motions me to come with him. Beiqaiek and his three crews follow behind us.
I carefully take out the lock of hair and hold it with both of my hands.
Asuak looks at me with a kind smile and asks, “When the hair was cut?”
“Right before we start the trip to Jupiter.”
“The memory will restore to that point.”
“Good enough. Actually it is better she won’t remember what happened on Achilles.”
“I am thinking the same thing.” Asuak sighs and his right hand touches the table. “Now I am washing my hand. You don’t want my gene to mix with your girlfriend’s, right?”
“Not this time.” I smile reluctantly.
On the table, there is a round plate without any feature. Asuak removes his right hand from the table, takes over the hair and put it on the round plate.
“System ready. Initiating process.” A stiff voice is coming out of the table.
Staring at the hair, I wait and wait, but nothing happens.
“Is it working?” I ask impatiently.
“Yea.” Asuak says while looking up at something.
I follow his eyes and see a huge blob of liquid. It is stretching out a hand as it is seeping out of the roof. The hand is reaching out for the hair.
I am holding my breath and staring at the hand without a blink. It gently touches the hair and swallows it. Now the blob of the liquid has left the roof, suspending in the air and retracting its hand. The lock of hair is slowly dissolving and the color of the liquid is changing from transparent to cream. For two minutes, it just stays like that and suddenly it starts to shrink dramatically, evolving to a female human shape. The details such as her face, her fingers and her toes are beginning to surface.
“We are almost there.” Asuak nudges me.
More details such as her hair, fingernails and frowns are coming up. Then beams of light shoot on her head.
“Lily!” I can’t help but call her.
She opens her eyes and looks at me! They are the same beautiful eyes I remember.
Asuak turns around and says something to Beiqaiek. I am too focused to catch what he says.
When the light is off, Lily collapses to the ground. I run to her and hold her in my arms. “Lily, it’s OK. I am Jason. Lily, you are back.” My voice is shaking along with my body.
“Who the fuck are you? You are not Jason.” Lily shouts, pushes me away and slowly stands up.
“Where are all my clothes? What did you do to me? You are a dead man. My fiancé Jason will kill you.” Lily shouts as she covers her body.
Asuak taps my shoulder. “She will need this.” He hands me a gray jumpsuit.
I take the jumpsuit and walks to Lily. “Lily, I know this face is not Jason’s face, but trust me. I am Jason Yang.”
Now I guess Lily notices Asuak and other blue guys. She looks frightened and confused.
“Where am I?” She is shaking and then falls onto the ground.
“Lily, look at me. Look at me.” I move closer. “I will explain everything. Don’t worry. Just breathe. Breathe slowly.”
Staring at me, Lily takes several deep breaths. “Well, at least, you are human.” She squeezes out a smile.
“It’s a long story. Put this on first.” I say and hand over the jumpsuit.
Lily flushes, turns around and jumps into it like a cat. She adjusts the suit, but it looks too tight on her. Her breasts are breaking the thin cloth and her round ass is pushing out.
“How do you feel?” I ask happily.
“Like a hangover.” She rubs her temples.
“Tell me the last thing you remember.”
“The checkup for Jupiter mission.” Lily says slowly, lost in her thought.
“That’s right!” I shout and give the thumbs up to Asuak.
“You say you are Jason?” Lily asks keeping her distance from me.
“Yes!”
“Prove it.”
I think for a second and say, “You didn’t stop peeing beds until you were 13.”
Suddenly, sparks appear in Lily’s eyes. She hugs me. “It is you. It is you!” She shouts at the top of her lungs.
“It is me. Sorry for the face.” I hold her tight. Finally, I have her back.
Lily gently pushes me away and punches hard on my nose. “I told you never bring that up.”
Blood floods out of my nose and I back off several steps to regain the balance.
“Yea, you are back.” I groan and wipe the blood away.
Beiqaiek nudges Asuak. “You sure they are getting married?”
“You know, they have different cultures.” Asuak says like an expert.
“Tell me about it.” Beiqaiek sounds amazed.
“Can you excuse us for a second?” Asuak says.
Beiqaiek and his crew walk away.
Asuak walks to Lily and put her hand into my hand. “Lily, you don’t know me and I want to keep it this way.” Now Asuak is speaking English. Then he turns to me. “Jason, don’t, don’t tell her that part of story. You know what I am talking about.” I nod at Asuak.
Asuak let out a long relief sigh and says, “Thank you. Now you guys need to go back to your home and I will leave this planet with my friends as well.”
“We only have one ship.” I say quickly.
“No, no, no. There is a small ship in that big one and it is more than enough for you to go back to Earth.” Asuak says happily.
Lily reaches out her hand and says, “I don’t know what you did with my Jason, but I want to thank you.”
Asuak shakes her hand and says, “Thank him. OK, let’s go. I am not good at this goodbye stuff.”
We exit the mountain and arrive at the ship. Lily is holding my hands all the way and I can’t take my eyes off her. I feel I am born again. Everything is going to be fine.
The tail of the ship opens and Asuak drives out a small one. Size wise, it is one tenth of the big one.
When Asuak comes out of that ship, he says, “I have set up the course for Earth. Just punch it and you will get there.”
We nod at each other and look at each other in the eyes. We killed each other one time and we saved each other one time. In the culture of any species, I bet we are friends and we both know that.
Now this is the moment and I know the slim chance I will see Asuak again. I can tell from his eyes that he knows it better than I do. No words. We just look at each other and then he turns away and enters the other ship with his friends.
Lily and I watch their ship take off and disappear into the sky. She rests her head on my shoulder and says, “Let’s go home.”
I nod and we enter the other ship.
The course is ready just as Asuak said.
“You are ready.” I ask and buckle up.
Lily is sitting right next to me. “You forgot our tradition?”
“No.”
We lean to each other and kiss on the lips. They are so soft and so is her body. It feels so good and we kiss for a long time. I don’t know how long.
“Let’s get on the way first. I want to get out of this suit. It’s too tight.” Lily says while pulling it open, her breasts jumping out like white rabbits.
“Alright.” I start to push and the ship lift off, shooting into the space.
Lily gets rid of the suit. “I need to test this new body.”
I stand up from the pilot seat. “Me too.”
On another thought, I am not in a hurry to go home. I am home!
