Hate At First Sight, page 11
“Like that?”
I moaned.
He lifted my other leg over his arm, and I felt as though I had died and gone to pleasure heaven as sensations rocked my body. A fine sheen of perspiration covered us both as he rocked into me, touching places I had never known existed. I was on fire and it felt as though my pussy was drenched. Ecstasy swept through me as I felt my heart race with my fast-approaching climax.
“I’m gonna come! Sooo good! Oh, fuck! You’re killing me!”
“Oh, baby! We’re dying together! You feel so good in my arms baby!!! Come for me! Drench me with that pussy! Come for me!”
I felt my body go into convulsions as I climaxed. My eyes rolled back in my head and I felt as though I was going to pass out as my pussy clenched and flexed around his cock. I felt the heat of his juices shooting inside me as his cock pulsed and spewed. He held me close as y body went limp. Without breaking apart, he somehow got us to the bed. As his body pressed into mine, I searched blindly for his lips. I was not disappointed.
It was not until a few hours later that we attempted to shower again. Afterward, we sat on a rug by the fire. It was now dark outside and sometime after seven. The rain had not eased up and the wind had picked up a bit as well. But despite the chaos outside nothing could dampen our spirits. Lying in Sheldon’s embrace in front of the roaring fire was exactly where I wanted to be right now. I played with his nipple absentmindedly.
“You’re insatiable.”
“Says he who looks for every chance to get between my legs.”
“I guess we’re a matched pair.”
I looked up at him. “I guess we are.” I drew lazy lines on his skin. “Did you mean it when you said I could come with you for weekends?”
“I did. Did you mean it when you said you wanted to come with me?”
I nodded. “I did.” I continued to draw on his skin and he chuckled. “What are you writing?”
“Nothing.”
“Hmmm. Let’s play a game.”
“What does the winner get?”
He took my hand and placed it on his crotch then used his hand to cup my pussy. “I’ll give you one guess.”
I giggled. “I guess we both win either way.”
“Yes. I’m going to write something, and you guess what I’m writing. Okay?”
“Okay.”
“But I’m going to need a clear patch of skin.”
Wordlessly I sat up and slipped the shirt off. I lifted my hair over my shoulder and turned my bare back to him. I threw him a look over my shoulder.
“Ready.”
“Get on all fours.”
“Hey! You’re supposed to be writing. Not getting busy.”
“I’ll be writing. With my mouth.”
“Freaky!”
I scrambled to my hands and knees, conscious that my bare ass was in his face. I felt his hand stroke the full globes.
“So, tempting. But I promised you a message.”
I drew a deep breath as I felt him crouch behind me. His bare thighs brushing against mine told me that he had removed his sweats. I was already anticipating the end of this game as I felt my pussy twitch and moisten.
“I’m going to go letter by letter. It’s three words. For each space, you’ll feel this.” He kissed my butt, finishing with a gentle bite. “Got it?”
“Mhmm.”
“First word. One letter.”
I felt his tongue start at the base of my neck and move down in a straight line. Then he drew a line across the top and another across the bottom. His lips moved to my ass.
“What’s that?”
“That felt like a capital ‘I’.”
“Good job. Next word. Four letters.”
He drew a line from my left shoulder to my left ass cheek then across the base of my spine.
“L.”
He drew what felt like a circle that started and ended at the nape of my neck.
“O.”
He drew a line from my left shoulder down to the middle of my tailbone. My heart started to race as he completed the letter.
“What’s that?” he asked softly.
“Vuh-vuh-V?”
I trembled as he bent over my back and whispered in my ear. “Do I need to go any further Rasheeda?”
I was struck speechless as he pulled me back into his arms and turned me to face him. He framed my face and looked into my eyes.
“I love you, Rasheeda.”
My eyes filled with tears. “I love you, Sheldon! Oh! It feels so good to get that off my chest!”
“That makes two of us.” He laughed and kissed me. “I love you, baby. Somewhere between that slap and having you laid out under me today, you got under my skin.”
“And you got under mine. I can’t believe you love me too!”
“I do.” He kissed me hard.
“I do.” He slowly lowered me to the rug and covered my body with his.
“I do.” I felt him harden as he captured my hands and raise them above my head, forcing my body to arch into his. Wordlessly I parted my legs and gave myself over to him crying out and writhing beneath him as he plunged into me.
“I do.”
Chapter 16:
Sheldon
Rasheeda handed me her overnight bag as I stood at the door waiting. It felt so surreal to be back in the city after being stranded in the cabin all weekend. We had spent all day Sunday making love, breaking only long enough to eat and shower. When we had woken up this morning to a weak sun shining through, we had known our magical getaway was over and it was time to return to reality. The ride back was far different as our bodies pressed against each other. Whereas I had felt tense on Saturday, now there was confidence in knowing I had her heart. We had been silent for the most part as we entered the city. For a Monday morning, there was an air of desertion about it. Several roads were blocked due to flooding, and we had to take a few detours before getting to her building. We had ascended silently, holding hands as we watched the numbers climb. My heart had been heavy, and I could sense that hers was as well. As soon as she opened her door, her eyes filled with tears. I stepped in behind her and closed it. Without a word, I pulled her into my arms. She had wrapped her arms around me tightly.
“Hey. I’m not going anywhere, and neither are you.” I hugged her tightly.
“Move in with me.”
“Or you can move in with me. But are we ready for that step as yet?”
She looked up at me and sighed. “No.”
“Exactly. So, let’s get used to being in love for now then take it one step at a time. Okay?”
“Okay.”
“And here’s a step we can take. Pack a bag for the cabin.”
Now as I stood hefting the bag from one hand to the other, I felt my heart drop again.
“Baby. Don’t look at me like that.”
“I want to go back.”
“Me too. But I’ve got to check on the site and make sure everything is intact. You’ve got work to do as well. Checking on your other hotels that may have been affected by the storm. But we know where we stand with each other. We’ve got this. Okay?”
“Okay.”
“I love you.”
“I love you too.”
I kissed her long and hard before pulling away slowly.
“I’ll call you when I have an update on the project, okay?”
She nodded. “Okay.”
I was reluctant to leave her but if I did not, we would drop our lives as we knew it and simply get lost in each other. And that would not do. We had to be professionals and mature instead of acting like horny teenagers who could not get enough of each other.
I strapped her bag to the seat and headed out of the city. From all indications, the street leading to the work site was one of those which had flooded terribly so there was no way I could access it and carry out an assessment. I headed home. A few days later, I headed back to the cabin with Rasheeda’s bag and fresh supplies. The weather had cooled considerably and bike riding was officially over. It took a week for the waters to recede. Rasheeda had flown out for a few days and so I visited the site with a few of my men.
“We’ve got a lot of mud and debris built up around the foundation. But inside seems okay. Very little water damage.”
“Okay. Take pictures of everything for the insurance report. I’m going to check on the trailer.”
I opened the trailer and was immediately met by the mustiness of damp furniture. The line along the wall was thankfully just three or so inches above the floor. This was one of the reasons I always elevated the office space plus used waterproof storage for all important documents. Had it been on the ground, it would have been a crisis. I was rifling through the papers to find the contract when there was an urgent knock on the door.
“Come in!”
“Hey, Sheldon. You’ve gotta come take a look at something.”
“What is it, Nick?”
“I’ve seen a lot of flood damage, even after being underwater. But I’ve never seen anything like this.”
I followed my assistant, traipsing carefully through the mud. My mouth fell open as I saw the first bulldozer. Then the forklift. I continued to walk around. Every piece of equipment was significantly damaged in some way. Tires were shredded, and it looked as though a sledgehammer had been taken to a few pieces as well. Either way, nothing was going to work. So even though the waters had receded, there would be no working right away. I saw red.
“What the hell happened?” I demanded.
“Looks like vandals.”
“In the middle of a fucking hurricane!?”
“This is going to set us way back.”
“Tell me something I don’t know.” I ran my hand through my hair. “Put it on the insurance claim.”
“Ours or Blake’s?”
“Blake’s of course. It’s on their project site isn’t it?”
“But it’s our equipment.”
“Being used for their project. Just put it on the claim and let the insurance sort it out. We don’t have time to quibble over it. If I’m wrong, insurance will catch it. And to add to that it wasn’t flood damage so that just makes things more complicated.”
“Okay.”
“Don’t worry about it. Get Rhonda on it so we can get it in as soon as possible. In the meantime, I’ve gotta get some new equipment to rent or something. I can’t afford for this project to fall behind. I’m on a tight schedule as it is.”
We finished the assessment and I took on the task of making the calls to try to get equipment for rental. I had a few leads by the end of the day. It was another week before we heard from the insurance company regarding the claim. They wanted to examine the equipment themselves. I made the arrangements for the first thing Monday morning. I called Rasheeda Sunday evening while she was at the airport.
“Hopefully things will be sorted out after they confirm the report, and we can get back on track. But trust me when I say that as soon as I get some breathing room our cabin will be a welcome break.”
“We both need a break, babe. I feel as though I’ve been running a marathon checking on all these hotels and filing claims.”
“You’ve got this.”
“Maybe we can do lunch tomorrow?”
“You’ll be too tired. Tuesday or Wednesday is better.”
“Okay. We’ve got clearance for take-off. I’ll let you know when I’m home. Love you.”
“Love you too.”
I stayed up as late as I could get some paperwork done and only went to bed when Rasheeda called to say she was home. The next morning, I was cranky as hell, and getting stuck in traffic did not make it any easier. The only silver lining was that with the insurance on-site assessment, I could finally move the damaged equipment, get the rentals in, and get back to work.
I pulled into the site a few minutes before the scheduled meeting, surprised to see several vehicles already there. I grabbed my hard hat and walked in. I almost did a double-take when I saw Rasheeda and her team. It was the first time I was seeing her in person since I had dropped her off more than two weeks ago.
“Good morning, everyone. Sheldon Collins of Collins Industries. Let’s take a walk shall we.”
The first half of the tour was routine as we examined, confirmed, and checked off various damages. But all hell seemed to break loose when we got to the damaged equipment. Rasheeda’s insurance adjuster was the first to speak.
“We don’t believe the equipment is our responsibility as it’s your equipment.”
“I agree. But as per the terms of our contract with Blake’s, my equipment is their responsibility for the duration of the project.” I looked at Rasheeda as she frowned.
“But it’s your equipment which I’m sure is already insured, Mr. Collins.”
“Technically, you’re renting my equipment, Miss Blake. Treat it the way you would a rented car in which you’ve had an accident. Who would be held liable?”
“Besides, based on these pictures, this is not flood damage. It’s more like deliberate damage. Is this your way of trying to screw me over?”
Her eyes flashed at me angrily. I met her glare for glare.
“Perhaps we need to finish this conversation privately.”
“Or perhaps you need to pay for your own damaged equipment and get back to finishing my project.”
I stalked past her, bumping her shoulder slightly.
“You know where my office is.”
I stormed into the trailer. A few seconds later Rasheeda entered. I slammed the door shut.
“What the hell was that out there? What do you mean you’re not paying for my equipment?”
“Why the fuck are you trying to scam me?”
“Scam you!? The equipment is on your property.”
“Under your supervision. Ergo your responsibility!”
“So I guess I was expected to be here babysitting bulldozers in the middle of a freaking hurricane!”
“Well we both know what you were doing instead, don’t we? Or maybe that was part of the plan.” Her eyes flashed as she stalked over to me. She poked me in the chest as she whispered hoarsely.
“If you think just because we fucked you can lure me into your little insurance fraud trap, think again. I am sick of being screwed over by men who think that all I am is a fucking checkbook. I’ve had to pay dearly before and I’m not going to do it again.”
“Don’t use the brush from your past boyfriends to tar and feather me, baby.”
“I’m not your baby. And you’d better damn well pay for your equipment yourself. You’re a big-shot money bag after all. But my insurance will not be paying for your equipment. And if you push this case you’ll be hearing from my lawyers.”
She stormed out of the trailer. But a few seconds later she stormed back in.
“Don’t call me, don’t text me, don’t visit me. And if you dare try you’ll find yourself facing a restraining order.”
I watched as she walked out of the trailer and out of the site. What the hell had just happened?
Chapter 17:
Rasheeda
That evening I paced in my apartment, awash with emotions. Each time I replayed what had happened at the job site I cringed. What on earth had made me behave the way I had? My cheeks went red. I knew what it was – fear. Being away from Sheldon had made me start to examine the weekend we had had. My defenses had been completely crumbled and I was all types of vulnerable around Sheldon. I had actually told him that I loved him! And even though he had said it first, I had behaved like a lovesick, horny teenager. I had anticipated some awkwardness the next time we saw each other. But I had not anticipated the blow-up we had this morning.
When I read the email from the insurance company early Monday morning, I had been livid. It was Lance all over again. But not this time. Not this time.
The next morning it was business as usual. I had calmed down a bit. But not enough to reach out to Sheldon. He needed to apologise. Then I remembered I had told him to stay away. But surely he would not. Would he?
The rest of the week passed in silence. Then the second week passed. By the third week, I was frantic for more reasons than one. I needed to talk to Sheldon urgently. I gathered my team for a walk-through. I did not care if he threw me off the site. I needed to see him. I bundled up against the chilly November weather. When I arrived at the job site I made a beeline for the trailer. I knocked loudly before opening the door.
“Collins, we need to – who the hell are you?”
“Kyle Barker. Project foreman. And you are?”
“Rasheeda Blake.”
“Oh! Our illustrious client. So pleased to make your acquaintance.”
“Where is Mr. Collins?”
“He is on another project overseas.”
I gasped in shock. “Overseas?”
“Yes.”
“For how long?”
“I can’t quite say. It’s a new development so it will be a few months for sure.”
“Months!? But what about my hotel?”
“Not to worry, ma’am. We’ve been working to get back on track and I’m pleased to inform you that we’re now only a week behind our timeline though we were delayed with that whole equipment fiasco. Speaking of which, he did ask me to give this to you personally the next time you came to the site.”
I took the envelope with numb fingers, my heart racing as I fought back the bitter disappointment.
“Thank you.”
I walked out of the trailer and headed to the parking lot, my team in tow. I opened the envelope in the car only to find receipts for the replacement of the damaged equipment. It was like a final slap in the face. When I got back to the office I had my driver wait and headed home. As soon as the door closed behind me the tears came. I did not need to be told that Sheldon’s new project was to get away from me and a new emotion surfaced – heartbreak. I allowed the tears to flow for a few minutes. Then I pulled myself together.
“Think, Rasheeda. Think.” I picked up my phone and called the one person I could count on at a time like this – Tasha.
