  “You better.”

“She’s done. I’m taking her to the airport.”

  “Need money for the ticket?”

  “Nah. I’ve got it handled.”

“When you’re settled, you’ll receive your pay out,” he promises her.

“I better. I earned every last cent.”

East shoots her a look that suggests she better shut the fuck up before he changes his mind, and she earns a one-way train to Hell where she belongs.

  Chapter Sixteen

One look back toward the clubhouse, and I know I’ve made the right choice. Smoke couldn’t get in my pants, so he’s right back to Shiloh. Everyone is right about him. He’s a bastard who can’t be tamed. Nor does he want to be.

Creed wraps his sweaty arms around me. Blood drips from his split lip as he claims my mouth. Judging by the swelling of his left eye and the cut under his right eye, he took a beating, but more importantly, he gave one. The tip of his tongue traces the top of my lip and prods at the seam, seeking entrance but not demanding it.

“I need a shower. You going to wash me?” he grins and swipes his thumb over my lips, wiping away the blood he got on me.

“That sounds like third date territory.”

He throws his head back with a laugh. “All right. Meet you at the bar in twenty. We’ve got a lot to fit into the next twenty-four hours if I need to be in third date territory to get you naked.”

“All right. See you in twenty.”

  “Bet.”

  “What?”

  “Nothing, beautiful. It’s an expression.”

  “Okay. If you say so.”

He gives me another small peck on the lips. “Looking forward to it.” He gives me this look that expresses he likes what he sees when he looks at me.

As the members of his club surround him, I move off, seeking out Andi. I hope she doesn’t think I ditched her. I find her tending to her husband, stitching his right brow.

“Hey. Shouldn’t you be off on your date?”

  “He needs to shower first.”

“Word of advice. Shiloh isn’t the only vulture around here. Watch your back and your man when it comes to the club, girls. They’re going to be on the prowl.”

“I’ve got her back.” An Ol’ Lady named Hazel loops her arm with mine. “Come on. We need a shot.”

“Get my number from Hazel. We’ll do lunch one day.”

“Bet,” I test out Creed’s word, and they crack up at me. “Okay, that sounds dumb. If I ever say that again, I give you permission to punch me. It was hot when Creed said it,” I mutter.

“Girl, look at that man. He could recite the alphabet and make it sexy.” She tugs on my arm, and I wave bye to Andi. “Come on. Viking is about ten seconds from claiming his woman, if you catch my drift.”

“Oh.” My cheeks bloom pink. We head toward the outdoor bar. There’s some band taking to the stage, and I now see what Hazel meant by women on the hunt. If I did a headcount, I bet the ratio would be two women for each biker. I still don’t see my brother around or Trenton. I hope I won’t be stuck here for the night.

I do a shot with Hazel. The liquor burns down the back of my throat.

  “Let’s dance.”

“I’m supposed to wait here for Creed.”

“Make him work for it. He’ll find you.”

  “I can’t dance,” I confess.

“There are no rules. Move your body with the music.” She grabs my hand, not taking no for an answer, pulling me toward the stage where the band plays.

“Who are these guys?” I don’t know much about music, but I dig their sound.

“Bad Intentions,” she divulges me, swaying her hips.

I mimic Hazel’s movements, attempting to find my own groove.

It isn’t long before I get lost in the music and forget about Creed.

A biker by the name of Holy comes up behind Hazel, and it doesn’t take long to figure out that he is her man. His hand comes to her neck, where she wears this black leather choker type collar. He hooks a chain to the metal D ring and gives it a tug as she turns to face him. The way she rubs against him is intimate, and I look away.

I spot Creed at the bar. He’s watching me, but there’s a big busty blond to his left. Crooking his finger, he makes a come here motion. I strut toward him and hope I look sexy and not dorky.

“There you are.” He tucks me in on his right side and the woman on his left slips under his other arm.

I glance up at him, confused.

“You two ready to go party.?” He looks between us and my stomach drops.

  “Isn’t this the party?”

He smiles at me. “Private party, beautiful. You, me, and what was your name?” he asks the other woman.

  “Angel.”

I push out from under his arm. “I think I misunderstood when you said earlier you wanted to take me out. I’m just going to go.”

“Don’t leave. Angel is cool. It’ll be fun. Promise.” He kisses me on the cheek and releases the other chick to wrap both arms around me.

“Okay. I guess.” I’m not feeling him as much as I was earlier.

Creed leads me and this Angel chick to a room over the clubhouse after grabbing a bottle of liquor from the bar. I’ve never been up here before.

“My accommodations for the next few days. Make yourselves comfortable.”

Angel flops down on the bed and I sit on the arm of the couch, ready to bolt any second.

Creed grabs something from a black leather pouch and plops down next to where I’m perched.

He has this plastic bag of pot and some rolling papers. “You smoke?”

Smoke. My stomach does a backflip and I shake my head. “Nope. My father taught me to just say no.”

Creed chuckles and proceeds to a roll a joint.

“Is it only us?” I was hoping there would be more people. It seems weird with only us and this other chick. Angel seems like a third wheel. Kind of how I am when I hang out with Sabrina and Jimmy.

“Relax.” Angel drags a fingernail down my arm and drops onto Creed’s lap, same as that Shiloh woman did with Smoke earlier.

My lips turn down, and this unsettling sensation washes over me.

“That’s what I’m talking about.” She plucks the joint from between his lips.

He blows a cloud of smoke toward me, and I cough.

“Sorry, beautiful.” He leans in for a kiss. Angel slides off his lap as he pulls me down in her place. He snakes an arm inside my overalls around my belly. “Sexy as fuck. All sweet and innocent.” His lips move down my throat as his hand moves between my legs. Though his touch turns me on, it’s not the same as when Smoke does it.

I glance over at Angel, and she is stubbing the joint out. I hope she takes the hint and leaves.

I smile when she gets up, but the expression quickly turns to a frown when she drops to her knees in front of us, placing a hand on each of my thighs.

  “What are you doing?”

“Easy. Angel has no problem sharing or going down.”

“Cool for her. I’m not that kind of girl.”

“Then you’ve never had your pussy ate by another woman,” she informs me, bluntly and moves toward me as though she might kiss me.

Jimmy jokes about Sabrina and I making out all the time, but we’ve never seen each other in that way or ever considered it.

“You two have fun. I’m going to go.” I shove up as she falls back on her ass. I don’t bother looking back at Creed. I hurry downstairs and back out to the party.

I’m like Alice when she tumbled down that rabbit hole. I’m lost and clueless.

I walk around, looking for any of the Ol’ Ladies I met earlier, but I don’t recognize anyone.

Some of the men who were with Creed earlier are at the bar. No, thank you.

I spot Trenton and rush toward him. “Hey. I was looking for you.”

“You were?” He raises a brow that says he doesn’t buy that line for one second.

“Um, yeah. My brother mentioned earlier that maybe you’d give me a ride home?” I pout my lips. “Please.”

“Let me check in with East.”

“Okay.” I clutch his hand, not wanting left on my own in fear of us getting separated and my being stuck here.

Trenton stares down at my hand curling around his. “You okay?”

“Yeah. Just tired.” I don’t blab to him how I made a fool of myself for a second time. I’m so done with hot bikers.

“All right.” He doesn’t release from the tight hold I have on him my and I’m grateful. I don’t know anyone else here and I’m not about to ask Smoke to take me or call and interrupt my brother when he’s with Zoe.

I go back into the clubhouse with Trenton, and he has me wait for him outside of an office.

Creed and Angel walk past me, and she giggles, wiping her lips like maybe she just gave him a blow job. I shoot him a dirty look. Jerk.

His idea of a date and mine exists on two different planets. At least now I know Sabrina was right about bikers. The realization makes me sad thinking about the women I met today and their kids. Do they all put up with this type of stuff? Are all the guys this way? Is my brother? Will he do the same to Zoe?

The office door opens, and Trenton says, “You ready to go?”

  “I was born ready.”

“Night didn’t go the way you had hoped?”

  “Something like that,” I murmur.

“You mind if we stop off for something to eat?”

  “That’s fine.”

“Thought you were in a hurry to leave?”

“I want to get out of here, but I don’t have to go home yet.”

  “You sure nothing happened?”

“Yeah.” I lick my lips and notice him eyeing the movement.

I really hope he doesn’t make a move to kiss me. I don’t have the mental capacity for another man in my life right now. I know I flirted with him earlier, but I’m so not in the mood to deal with another hot jerk biker.

“Cool, but the offer stands if you need to talk.”

“Where are we eating?” My stomach growls at the mention of food. “I don’t think I’ve ate all day.”

  “Let’s get you fed.”

We end up at Waffle House with a bunch of other drunks. It’s super noisy and the poor waitress looks ready to throw her apron and walk out the door. The only empty seats are at the counter. Trenton gives me the stool at the end, placing himself between me and this guy that has the redneck look. Mesh back hat, checkered flannel shirt, and a long scraggly beard.

  “What are you having?”

“I’ve never ate here, so you pick.”

“Now I know you’re bullshitting me.”

“Nope. This is my first cell phone. I wasn’t permitted to attend public school or watch Tv. Never had my own computer. My father is what you’d call a doomsday prepper and conspiracy theorist. You know the government is out to get us and the end of time is coming. Zombies are coming. That sort of stuff.”

  “Damn, babe. Musta’ been rough.”

“It was. I mean, some of it could be fun and the knowledge could come in handy, but I didn’t grow up like other girls. Thankfully, I had Sabrina.”

“Are you telling me there’s another chick somewhere that looks like you?”

“Nope. Sorry. Sabrina is my bestie, and she’s very much in love with her boyfriend, Jimmy.”

“Just my luck.” He clutches his chest as though I’ve injured him with a shot to the heart.

The waitress makes her way behind the counter to take down our order.

“Nothing beats steak and eggs after a night of drinking,” Trenton promises me.

I take his word for it.

  Chapter Seventeen

I roll up to the Bunny Mansion, where Shiloh has a room. Having her on the back of my bike is all wrong. The only ass that belongs riding bitch with me is Ember’s.

I tell Shiloh to get off and flex my fingers. I’m bone tired and sick of her face. Would be easy to wrap my hands around her throat and end this shit right now. Watching the life fade from her eyes would bring me nothing but relief. The cunt drug, tricked, and raped me. She deserves to die a painful death. She could have killed me by giving me that shit.

“How will I get all of my stuff?” The cunt snots around as I take her inside.

“Once you are situated at your new location, we’ll ship it to you.”

  “Why would you do that?”

“Because we want rid of your ass and no one wants your crusty panties,” I grumble, ready to get this over with. The mansion shuts down when there’s a big party or event happening at the club. Most of the other girls are at the clubhouse. The rest are probably dancing at the Kitty Kat.

This place creeps me out when it’s so damn dark and quiet. Prez likely gave security the night off, too. I don’t see any sign of them in their usual posts.

I escort Shiloh to her room. Once inside, I close the door, locking us in. “What are you doing?”

“Making sure you don’t try some dumb shit, and I figured it’s your last night in town. Might as well make the best of it.”

She studies my face, but I keep a neutral expression.

“You fucked my plans for the night up. Least you can do is suck my dick before you go.”

Her lips curve into a saucy grin. “I knew you liked me.”

“Why don’t you run us some bathwater? We can clean up before we fuck,” I say to appease her. “I’ll fix us a drink. What do you want?” I go over to the minibar, where she has a bunch of liquor and shit.

“Whiskey. I’ll make it a bubble bath.”

“I’ll see what I can do.” I wait for her to go into the bathroom. The second I hear the water going, I search her room for her stash. I bet this bitch has more Cloud Nine.

Bingo. Dumb cunt keeps it in a box marked with memories in the top of her closet. Some people make it too damn easy. I take what I need and sprinkle the powder in her drink. I stir it in using a straw.

“You coming?” she calls from the other room.

“Go ahead and get in. I’ll be in shortly. Just getting undressed.” I don’t want to take a fucking bath with her. She’s a fucking idiot. I kick my boots off, followed by the rest of my clothes. Stripped down to my birthday suit, I take the drinks into the bathroom. Shiloh is in the tub. Her tits bobbing in the bubbles as the tub continues to fill. “A toast,” I declare, handing her the glass I want her to drink from.

  “What are we drinking to?”

“To old times. Some of my bests were with you, sweetheart,” I lie.

“You mean that?” She peers up at me full of longing. Fuck, she’s pathetic. So god damn desperate for someone to love her.

“Of course.” I knock my drink back and kiss her right on the mouth. Something I’ve never done before because I know where the fuck her mouth has been.

She smiles big and says, “To good times.”

I watch as she swallows the liquid poison down. “Aren’t you getting in?”

“I’m going for a refill. Want another?”

“Sure.” She hands me her glass, not noticing the bits of white powdered clumps stuck to the bottom that failed to dissolve.

I return to the bar in her attached bedroom and pour her a double this time. I retrieve my riding gloves from the back pocket of my jeans, cursing myself for not having anywhere to hide them.

Back in the bathroom, I don’t have to worry. Shiloh leans against the back of the tub, already experiencing the effects of the deadly drug. Her eyes are closed as she slips into another drug induced world. Placing the glass on the edge of the tub, I slip my gloves on. “Scoot forward so I can sit behind you.”

Wordlessly, she slides up and I sink in behind her.

“Isn’t this divine,” she coos and settles back against my chest.

“Perfect,” I mutter, placing a hand on each of her shoulders and pressing down. Forcing her under the water, holding her down as she is powerless to fight against me. Once I’m sure she’s been under long enough, I release her and hurry out of the tub.

As far as anyone will ever know, I dropped her off after the party. Bitch must have overdone it and fell asleep in the bathtub, drowning herself in the process.

I rinse both our glasses and put them where they go on the bottom shelf of her minibar.

After one of the longest fucking nights of my life, I pull up to the house to see Trenton’s motorcycle parked in my fucking spot in the driveway. I know it’s his because it once belonged to his father and has dice painted on the gas tank. Inside, I find his ass with Ember and Prodigy in the kitchen. The three of them cracking up.

No one speaks to me when I enter the room and open the fridge to grab a beer.

  The laughter dies down.

“I should head out,” Trenton announces.

“See ya, man. Thanks again for bringing her home safe. Though next time no getting into fights with old men at Waffle House.”

“I’ll walk you out,” Ember says, and those four words are like a knife to my chest.

She saunters past me without meeting my gaze.

My babydoll has a mean streak.

“How was your night?” Prodigy asks once the front door closes.

  “Fucking sucked. Yours?”

“Was good. Can’t complain. We need to have a conversation.”

“Can it wait until tomorrow? You have no idea the shit that’s gone down the past twenty-four hours.”

“I think. I’ve got a good idea, man,” he clips, his eyes full of anger all directed at me.

Fuck. Here we go. Ember told him.

“You used my sister. Not fucking cool.”

  “It’s not like that.”

He shoves a palm into my chest. “Bullshit. Knew you were fucking around with her behind my back, and I was prepared to be cool and let you two do your thing, till I saw you with Shiloh last night and again today. Rubbing her in Ember’s face. You knew she liked you. I want you to pack your shit and stay somewhere else a for a while. At least a few weeks. It’s best for everyone if you aren’t here when I wake up tomorrow.”

“You want me out. I’m out.” I don’t bother to explain what Shiloh did to me. Let him believe what he wants to. He’s going to, anyway. I can’t tell him what I did. It’d only make him an accomplice.
