‘His company was founded using drug money, and your new laws mean that his company can therefore be seized – and sold off.’
‘So go help me get three thousand apartments for key workers.’
‘Many of the residents may already fit that criteria, half are retired.’
‘So if I get them a place in a good Phase One they might move out.’ I nodded to myself. ‘Go savage the little shit bag please.’
‘With pleasure, and by that I mean that it pleases me to deal with such people, a modest improvement seen in the collective conscience of mankind.’
I smiled as he vanished. ‘Just need to get our average up a few points. Won’t take more than … two or three thousand years more.’
Putting my head down, something was nagging at me, something about Diana Princess of Wales, and shiver went through me again.
