Talkin' the Talk, page 29
“I hear you’re living with your mom again.”
Sam’s jaw muscles started to ache from all the teeth clenching. “You spying on me again? Because the last time you did that, you told everyone about my bedroom dancing, and I still owe you some serious payback.”
That earned her a wide grin as Connor finally unleashed the full-force of the Lewis charm. “That sure was something. I think you invented twerking before twerking was a thing.”
“I was eleven. And you are such an asshole for remembering that.”
“I wasn’t the one looking like I was trying to get something hot out of my butt.”
“I wasn’t the thirteen-year-old with his nose pressed up against an eleven-year-old’s bedroom window like some stalker! No wonder you joined the police force. Perfect cover for being a pervert.”
That just earned her another shrug. “Says the woman who just did it in a smart car with Chicken Man.” He whistled through his teeth. “Now that is seriously kinky. I mean, I’ve seen some stuff in my time on the force, but—” He looked at her over the top of his sunglasses, green eyes dancing. “You truly are something, Sam Jones. It’ll be interesting having you back. I’ll be seeing you around.”
Sam decided she’d had enough. “I believe the saying is ‘not if I see you first.’” She strode around her car to the driver’s side, putting as much strut in her step as possible for a woman suffering from a heinie updraft. Giving Lewis one last glare, she climbed in and got the hell out of there.

Franky, their surly cat also helps by running the complaints department from his hiding place under the coffee table.
When not writing warm and funny contemporary romance, George and Tony can currently be found roaming the wilds of England & Scotland, hiking valiantly from café to tea shop in a never-ending quest to find the perfect scone.
