part #5 of Chaos God Series
“Mmmmm!” Freesia moaned as she turned her head to the side.
Elora reached down and stroked her fingers through the half-elf’s bright red curls as I fucked her into ecstasy.
Freesia’s thighs quivered as her inner walls tightened around me, and she fell into a shattering orgasm.
“Yeeeeeees,” Freesia cried out.
The domino-style cascade of orgasms exploded in my brain like an overloaded circuit breaker, and sparks flashed behind my eyes.
“Fuuuucking hell,” I groaned as the pleasure peaked through me, and Freesia’s rippling climax sucked me of everything I was worth.
My cock throbbed as I dumped my seed deep inside Freesia’s womb, and the lightning zinged along my nerves until I thought I might explode into billions of tiny pixels of bright light.
“Uuuuuugggghhh,” I moaned as a series of aftershocks tore through me, and my cock twitched with prolonged pleasure like I’d never felt before.
My fingers were soaked with the slick juices of Freesia’s pleasure, and I rubbed the delightful mess all around her overly sensitive clit until she gasped and yanked away from me with a burst of shocked giggles.
“Levi,” Freesia teasingly scolded me.
“What?” I asked with all the playful innocence I could muster despite the feeling of not having a single bone in my body.
I dropped down onto the bed beside my utterly satisfied lovers and heaved a huge sigh of bliss.
“It just keeps getting better with you,” Elora sighed from somewhere above me.
“Yeah, it does,” I chuckled tiredly.
“Do you think I will be with child this time next moon?” Freesia asked in a dreamy voice a moment later.
“I hope so,” Elora sighed, and I could hear the smile in her voice.
“I would love for our babies to be so close together,” Shalanna said, and her voice was distorted by a huge yawn. “Oh, I am so tired.”
“As am I,” Elora murmured softly.
“Mmmm,” was all Freesia could manage to say.
I smiled at the totally satisfied states of my lovers as I scooted up to join them on the pillows. I wrapped one arm lovingly over the slight swell of Elora’s baby bump and stroked a hand down Freesia’s side.
“I love you. All of you,” I hummed, and I emphasized my next words with a soft caress over Elora’s belly. “Even the ones who aren’t here just yet.”
“Mmmm,” Shalanna sighed from the next bed, and a few seconds later, her breathing deepened with sleep.
“We love you, too, Levi,” Elora whispered.
The comfortable sounds of slumber slowly filled the room as Elora and Freesia descended into sleep, and a few moments later I followed them easily into unconsciousness.
I rested soundly for the first half of the night in a dreamless slumber cocooned in the warmth of my sleeping lovers’ bodies. Then my subconsciousness began to wander freely, and I found myself in the wide-open landscape of the lava fields.
Cool volcanic ground stretched out for miles on every side of me in rippled waves of solidified magma. It looked like someone had taken a giant ocean of chocolate pudding and captured it in a single second of movement, and all the waves, surges, and curls of the lava were locked into place.
The ground was comfortably warm beneath my bare feet, and the black stone was smooth like broken glass that had been worn down by a hundred years of being tossed in the ocean’s waves.
A smile of joy spread across my face as I breathed in the clear and smokeless air all around me, but then a terrifyingly loud crack broke through the peaceful air.
The sound like rock being split in two by the pickaxe of the gods slammed into my eardrums, and I tried to muffle the impact with my hands over my ears.
“The fuck,” I gasped as my body instinctively tried to curl away from the sound.
The creaking, trembling sound of cracking ground echoed out for miles all around me, and I looked wildly around for the source. Tiny crevices the width of printer paper split open at my feet, and they spiderwebbed out in every direction as the crust of Asgard shattered like glass.
A sinking feeling pulled deep in my chest, and I prepared myself to be sucked down into the bowels of the planet. The cracks spread and widened slightly, but the ground remained firm and solid under my feet.
Then something unexpected happened.
The planet began to bloom back into new life all around me as fresh green plants sprouted up in the crevices, and I remembered that volcanic soil was wildly fertile. The landscape as far as I could see turned vividly green as ferns, palm trees, brightly-colored flowers, and giant leaves sprung up on every square inch of space.
“Wooow,” I breathed as the planet was born again like a phoenix from its own ashes.
A gentle wind lifted my unruly hair from my shoulders and carried the fresh scent of growing things to my nostrils. The breeze was cool and refreshing, and it brought a sense of hope and revitalization to my heart.
My arms spread wide as I stood among the new gardens of Asgard under the warm sun for what felt like hours, but then there was a shift in the wind.
The temperature started to drop, and a chill rushed over my body. I pulled my arms around myself against the suddenly cold air as I looked around. Then the brand-new ferns, flowers, and trees shriveled up right before my eyes as their leaves dropped dead to the ground.
“No, no, no…” I muttered as I turned around and saw that all around me the newly lush lands were devolving into a barren wasteland like the Arctic tundra.
The leaves and grass crumbled into dust at my feet, and the previously tiny crevices that allowed new life to sprout ripped open as a gust of freezing-cold hurricane-force winds erupted from the ground.
Frozen air bit against my face and arms, and I felt my eyelashes freeze together. I huddled into my body against the harsh winds as a rush of icicles came barreling toward me from the horizon. The wall of frozen air slammed into me with so much force that I was torn from the depths of sleep.
My eyes flew open, and I found myself right in bed beside my lovers, but the icy chill of my nightmare was still wrapped around me like a frozen blanket of ice.
“Shit,” I hissed between my teeth.
Chapter 4
I took several deep breaths and reassured myself that I was in my bed with Elora, Freesia, and Shalanna beside me, and slowly the warmth of their sleeping bodies pushed the frigid cold out of my system. I sighed with relief as Elora began to stir beside me.
“Mmmm,” my silver-haired warrior stretched her long legs out, and she blinked her eyes open. “Good morning, my love.”
“Good morning,” I murmured as I leaned over to kiss her sleep-pinked face. “How did you sleep?”
“Very well.” Elora smiled, and she rolled out of bed and twisted her back as she sighed.
“As did I,” Freesia agreed as she sat up in bed. Her thick red curls looked adorably wild as they sprang up all around her head like a halo. “I feel so refreshed this morning.”
“Good.” I grinned at my ladies and looked over as Shalanna began to stir. “Hey, love, how did you sleep?”
“Mmmm, I had strange dreams again last night,” my very pregnant lover mumbled as she rubbed her hands over her eyes.
“What about?” I asked as I remembered the dream she’d told us about three nights ago.
Shalanna had woken up mumbling about bricks made of honey and an enormous lion flower that walked around and made her cakes out of sand.
“Frida was talking to me,” Shalanna said, and her face screwed up as she tried to explain the details of her dream. “She was trying on some gowns and asking me which was her color.”
“That’s very weird,” I laughed.
“Yes,” Shalanna giggled. “She was very distraught that she could not find two pairs of matching shoes for all four of her paws.”
“Goodness,” Elora chuckled as she sorted through some clothes. “That is strange.”
“Which color did you advise her to wear, Shalanna?” Freesia asked.
“A bright green.” Shalanna grinned. “I thought it brought out the color of her eyes!”
We all had a good laugh about the oddity of Shalanna’s hormone-induced dreams, and then we got dressed.
Elora and I chose thick linen and leather items that were well suited for our adventures in the lava fields. I strapped my sheath and sword to my hip and tucked my dagger in on the other side while Elora holstered a similar dagger to her hip.
Freesia chose a simple cotton dress that buttoned up the front, and I couldn’t help but notice how she’d left the top two buttons undone. Shalanna stared accusingly at her clothes for a moment before she picked up a loose cotton shirt with pretty floral embroidery around the scooped collar that Freesia’s grandmother had sewn.
“I am starting to think I should just walk about the castle naked.” Shalanna smirked as she tied a length of ribbon under her bust.
“No way,” I said in a fairly possessive voice with love in my eyes. “I’m not about to cut out the eyes of everyone in the castle just so you can be naked all the time.”
Shalanna grinned and stuck out her tongue in the most adorably teasing way that made my heart warm.
“Your clothing will fit you again soon,” Freesia assured Shalanna.
We were all quiet for a moment at the reminder that life at Castle Levi would be very different in a matter of weeks, and I realized I wanted to check in with Ingrid about the secret nursery surprise we’d planned for Shalanna.
“What are you two going to do with your day?” I asked my black and red-haired ladies.
“Well,” Freesia sighed as she walked over to pick up the satchel of supplies Elora had delivered just last night. “I have a whole bunch of supplies to organize in the healing hall today. I am not completely certain I have set up the space in the most efficient way. I was considering reorganizing the entire hall today.”
“Can I help you with that, Freesia?” Shalanna asked as she smoothed her black hair back from her face. “Ingrid and the others immediately stop me whenever they see me doing a thing, but I would like to do something useful… if it is alright with his majesty.”
Shalanna grinned playfully at me, and I couldn’t help but laugh at her loving teasing.
“Just don’t overdo it,” I said, and then I pulled her into my arms and gave Freesia a pointed look to let her know to keep an eye on Shalanna.
Freesia pursed her lips and nodded slyly.
“Come along, your majesty,” Elora laughed. “I would be shocked if Ayen is not already awaiting us in the entrance hall.”
“That man has no patience,” Shalanna giggled.
“No, he doesn’t,” I agreed.
I gave Freesia and Shalanna a firm kiss and then leaned down to whisper sentiments of love to my black-haired lover’s round belly.
Elora debated over her wings for a moment, and I could see the indecision in her eyes.
“Why not wear them?” I asked.
“Do I really need them?” Elora asked with a little shrug of uncertainty.
“Love, they’re yours,” I assured her. “You’ve earned them a hundred times over as far as I’m concerned, and everyone in this castle thinks so, too.”
“You are right, of course.” Elora smiled and picked up the wings.
My Valkyrie expertly swung them around her shoulders, and she strapped them to her back with a few quick movements. Then the metallic feathers ruffled out once as if the wings were waking up for the day.
“How do I look?” Elora asked with a confident smirk.
“Badass,” I assured her. “Come on. We shouldn’t keep Ayen waiting.”
Elora giggled, and the four of us walked out into the hallway to find Frida wide awake and waiting for us.
“Hey, girl,” I murmured as my adorable wolf-shark circled happily around us. “Are you coming with us today?”
Frida yipped with excitement and bounded down the wide staircase in two jumps. She thudded loudly on the floor below, and I was glad the castle was made of such solid stone. If the place had been constructed of wood, I suspected Frida would have destroyed half the building by now.
“Ah, finally,” Ayen’s lighthearted grumble rose loudly up the stairs as he turned his midnight-blue eyes toward me. “King Levi, I wondered if you would ever rise!”
“What can I say?” I smirked. “Getting out of bed is difficult when I’m surrounded by such wonderful company.”
“Levi,” Shalanna giggled.
“Be safe, love,” Freesia said, and she pulled Shalanna away toward her healing hall.
We’d finally found a good use for the large dining hall the Demon Lord had previously used as the location for his full moon sacrificial dinners. The huge space had sat empty for months, but Freesia had taken over the place and converted it into a space of healing and new life. She’d set up four examination beds and requested a wall of wooden shelves to organize her herbal medicines and balms. After a few weeks of hard work, the place looked almost modern to my eyes, and I was really impressed by her dedication.
I pulled my attention away from the healing hall, and I turned to look at the companions waiting for our departure to the lava fields.
After a close call with a demon who was still on fire from the flaming orchard several months ago, Ayen’s previously shoulder-length blond hair had been shorn short against the sides of his head, and now he wore a long braided mohawk that ran down the back of his head. He had his quiver jammed full of arrows and slung over his back.
Beside him, Finnern was inspecting the smooth head of his war hammer, Justice Bringer. After a quick nod of approval at his weapon of choice, the triple-braided dwarf looked up and smiled at me in greeting.
Azariah and Elion were also standing nearby with their preferred weapons. The blonde warrior had her matched axes strapped to her hips, and the black-haired elf had his hand propped on the hilt of a narrow sword Hezzig forged to fit his lean frame.
They all held heavy water pouches and small leather satchels that I assumed held some protein-heavy snacks for the journey.
Frida dropped her butt on the stone floor suddenly and started to chew on the smooth skin under her front leg. It was adorably aggressive, and she gnawed so hard that her whole body started to scoot around in a big circle.
“Goodness, do you think she enjoys that?” Elion wondered.
“Yeah, probably,” I laughed before I turned to glance around at my companions. “Is everyone ready to head out?”
“Aye,” Ayen confirmed as the former dwarf king nodded beside him.
“Good, let’s go exploring.” I grinned with excitement.
“Your majesty, wait!” Nestryn’s voice called out through the entrance hall.
I turned around to watch the elven botanist come skidding across the floor toward me with a huge smile on his face and an excited light in his hazel eyes.
“Hey, Nestryn, what can I do for you?” I asked.
“I have just been informed you will be exploring the former lava fields today,” the brown-haired elf said as he held up several small glass bottles with little wooden stoppers. “Can I trouble you to bring back some soil samples for me to examine? If it is not too much trouble, of course…”
“No, that’s no trouble at all,” I said.
“Oh, thank you, King Levi,” Nestryn sighed with relief as he handed me the bottles. “I am so curious about the soil out there. I have read that volcanic rock is incredible for plant growth because it has so many good minerals from deep within the planet mixed into it.”
“Yeah, I’ve heard that, too,” I said. “Places on Midgard that were built up by volcanic activity have some of the most fertile soil.”
“And given Njord’s hand in all this, I would not be surprised to find things are quite on their way out there.” The botanist grinned with eagerness. “Your majesty, if you could select from a few different locations, that would be ideal.”
“I’ll bring you back a good variety,” I assured him.
“I look forward to studying them, King Levi,” Nestryn said, and then with a nod, he walked off toward the dining hall.
I led the group of five warriors through the front doors, down the stone steps, and along the wide path through the mountains that cradled Castle Levi like a baby. As soon as we emerged from the pathway, I was struck by the huge shift in the landscape.
For as far as my human eyes could see, the world was filled with cool black rock. The previously active volcanoes sat silent, and the columns of smoke and ash that had flowed steadily from their tops were now totally gone. The sky above was clearer than I’d ever seen it before, and a gentle breeze blew toward us from the north. A few months ago, the breeze would have tasted acidic and felt dusty on my tongue, but now it smelled almost like a firepit that had died out during the night.
“What do you think we may find?” Elora wondered as we hiked further southwest toward the old camp’s location.
“A lot of rock,” Ayen chuckled.
“Do you think we will see any demons?” Azariah wondered.
“Maybe, but I don’t think it’s very likely,” I said. “Those emaciated lava demons that showed up a while back may have been the last of them.”
“Do you think they have fled from the area?” Elion asked.
“That’s possible,” I said. “But more likely, I think they’re going extinct. The lava demons thrived in the lava fields, right? So that was their natural habitat, and now it’s gone. It’d be like the opposite of what’s going on at the beach with the fish and crustaceans. They’re thriving now because their environment is safer.”
“Hmmm,” Finnern hummed. “That is a wise observation.”
“It would be very nice if all the lava demons are gone,” Azariah murmured.
“Do not fret,” Ayen said with a laugh. “There will surely be other demons to take their places. We would not want all the fun to be gone.”
“I would not mind a little less fun.” Elora rolled her eyes at my big blond friend.
