I recognized the silent voice as being that of Lorelei’s, or Lori, as she liked to be called. Lori sounded slightly annoyed, probably because the werecoyotes were able to overpower her so easily, but I hoped that feeling didn’t last for too long.

We all stick together in this pack, I told her. But how are you feeling? Are you okay to continue, or do you need to step out of the fight?

No, I’ll be okay, Lori replied. I’m determined to stay until the end, and I won’t let a few scratches get in the way of that.

That’s what I like to hear. I grinned. Just make sure you stay with the others, okay?

I will, Alpha, thank you. She bobbed her fluffy head. Shall we get back to the game?

  Lead the way, I chuckled.

The next few minutes were spent killing and dismembering as many werecoyotes as we could. Lori stuck with me as we raced through the crowd, and it was nice to see how she worked during a tough fight.

Lori seemed to prefer to balance on her back legs before she launched herself into the air like a feline gymnast. She let out a piercing yowl as she landed on her opponent, and then she’d tackle the werecoyote to the ground before she had the chance to kill them.

I made sure to keep an eye on my omegas and the rest of my pack, and I also reminded everyone to kill any enemy werecoyotes they came across. The shooters knew to stop any motherfucker who tried to slip away, but apparently the werecoyotes hadn’t set a single paw outside the boundary of sandy mountains.

It felt like no time at all had passed since Dex had first noticed the werecoyotes, and with the help of the shooters, it had only taken about ten or maybe fifteen minutes to kill off the majority of the pack.

But I still had the alpha to defeat, and for once I didn’t have to track him down with my sense of smell.

Because as soon as there were only a handful of werecoyotes left to kill, the alpha made his appearance.

I instantly knew it was him because he was at least double the size of his betas, and he was also standing on the top of one of the mountains like he was looking down at the bloodbath below.

I didn’t even need to be connected to him to know what he was thinking, and that caused nothing but pure satisfaction to ripple through me. Had I been in his position, and had it been me standing there looking down at the number of corpses that littered the desert, I knew I would have been pissed. I also would have wanted to seek revenge, and to kill the alpha who’d caused the large majority of my pack to die.

That alpha was the only one to blame here, because there was no clear reason why the fight started in the first place. However, I had a strong feeling he wasn’t just going to walk away.

I knew damn well I was who he’d come here to fight.

As soon as the alpha locked eyes with me, he barely gave himself the time to hesitate before he sprinted down the mound toward me.

I refused to move, so I simply stood there and waited for the alpha to arrive. I felt confident that I had what it took to kill him, so I just had to wait for the real fun to begin.

I briefly considered using The Howl to take control before I killed the alpha, but the adrenaline in my veins ordered me to land at least a few powerful hits before I turned to my added ability.

The recent fights had been so easy that I could have killed those alphas with my eyes closed. But my body burned with the need to feel his body crumble under my paws, so I wasn’t going to use The Howl until I’d caused the alpha to lose a few pints of blood first.

But then, just as the alpha reached the bottom of the mound, he came to a stop. At first I wasn’t sure what he was doing, because his eyes were still focused on me, but then he let out an enraged growl as he stood up on his back paws.

It reminded me of a day several months ago, when Arielle officially became my omega. Gray Mackenzie had shifted into his stronger hybrid form, and I knew this alpha was doing the same thing as his muscles rippled and grew.

Back then, when I was still fairly new to this life, I thought Gray was the hardest alpha I’d ever be up against. But now that I was stronger, and I’d faced my fair share of alphas and betas, a hybrid form didn’t instill as much fear as it used to.

I just shifted into my hybrid form, too.

My paws turned into clawed hands and feet, my snout disappeared, and my chest expanded to become sculpted, fur-covered muscles. I couldn’t even shift into my hybrid form for a prolonged period back then, but now it was second nature, and I barely had to think about it.

The alpha stormed toward me once his transformation was complete, and I stared at the gray fur that coated his chest and legs. He looked intimidating and like he meant business, but he hadn’t been up against me before.

He had no idea what I was capable of doing, and I was about to school him on The Alpha.

The coyote alpha let out another angered cry, and the ground seemed to tremble beneath my feet, but I still refused to move until he was inches away from me.

Then, just as the alpha was within touching distance, I crouched down to the ground and grabbed the bastard by the ankle. My claws pierced through his flesh like butter, and then I used all my strength to haul the alpha off his feet and onto his back.

I wasted no time in locking the alpha between my limbs, and then I began to rake my claws across his face as he aimed for my chest. The two of us wailed in pain, and I couldn’t ignore the discomfort like I could with the werecoyote betas.

But I was also too determined to end this fight, and I wasn’t going to allow the pain in my chest to stop me from reaching that goal.

For the next minute or two, the alpha and I battled back and forth, and at one point he even managed to get me on my back. It was a bloodbath from the very start, and there were tufts of our fur littered all around me. I still had to be careful, because he was still a strong alpha, and he continued to push me deeper into the sand as his claws ripped through my skin.

But that all changed when I pierced his right eye with one of my claws.

I kicked myself off the ground and rolled the alpha off me, but while I had one of my fingers literally stuck in his eye socket, I decided to try and get some answers from.

“Tell me everything,” I demanded in the same tone as I shoved my claw in deeper.

“Aaargh!” he yelled in a deep, booming voice.

“Tell me why the SDD are after me!” I bellowed.

“Because of everything you’ve done!” the alpha growled as he twisted his head back and forth. “You deserve to die after those pathetic games you’ve been playing!”

I hadn’t been playing any games, and everyone around me knew that. But it felt like this alpha had been fed some bullshit lie by the SDD, and now he’d found himself in a shitload of trouble.

  And blinded in one eye.

“Forget it,” I snarled as I removed my claw from his now useless eyeball. “I’ll soon find out the real reason.”

Streams of blood poured from the alpha’s wound, and had I shoved my claws in deeper, I probably could have killed him with that one attack alone. The alpha continued to yowl and scream, but I just took that as my opportunity to finally end his life.

All the betas are dead, boss, Benji informed me as I thought about how to kill this motherfucker. You just need to kill him, and then it’s over.

The rest of my pack began to circle around me, and as I left ragged, gouging wounds across the alpha’s throat and chest, my betas and omegas cheered me on with their own yips, howls, and calls.

My own adrenaline and satisfaction powered my body as I fought against the exhaustion that started to set in, and there was no way I was going to stop until the bastard was buried deep in the ground.

I raked through his jugular like an elastic band, and as the alpha choked and spluttered, I landed the final blow across his throat. The alpha was too weak to raise his hands to his bloody throat, and an evil grin crossed my face as I watched him struggle with his final breaths.

I didn’t care that he hadn’t given me the answers I needed, it just meant I had to search harder to find them, and potentially kill more alphas before I reached the finish line.

But until that moment arrived, I planned on focusing on nothing but my pack, and the constant cheering worked as the perfect soundtrack to my recent accomplishment.

I knew you could do it, Jesse, I knew you could! Hailey let out a happy howl as my omegas ran toward me.

I’m so glad you’re okay, Arielle said while she rubbed her head against my bloody chest. I’m so glad you all are!

“I’m alright,” I replied honestly. “But I’m glad it’s over.”

Fucking hell, what a rush! Azalea called as she flew down and perched on the alpha’s beaten head. I feel like I have the energy to run two marathons, not just one.

Shit, that’s a serious amount of energy, Nikita giggled.

Well, you can enjoy those marathons, Blair chuckled. But I don’t plan on leaving the bedroom for at least fourteen hours, maybe even longer than that.

“Fuck, the bedroom,” I said as reality came crashing down again. “I need to go and see Hazel.”

But then, before I could run back to check on Hazel, the recognizable sound of a siren appeared from the other side of the sandy hills, followed quickly by some bright flashing lights.

Shit! Paxton cried as he began to run around in panic. What are we going to do? We… We…

Paxton, calm down, I said soothingly. My lawyer has some cop friends, remember? It’s probably just them.

But what if it’s not, Jesse? Blair asked. How the fuck do we explain this?

I can handle them. Azalea flapped her wings like she was flexing her muscles.

Let me sort it out, don’t you worry, I said as I shifted back into my wolf form.

If it was some regular human cops, then I didn’t want them to see an enormous hybrid version of myself. A large bunch of wild animals would probably freak them out, and that could be a cover story for the shooters that they were shooting to defend themselves. But at least we could sprint away, and hopefully it wouldn’t cause too much of an issue.

Mordaine knew what he was doing, and I trusted that man with my life, so I was pretty positive that it was just his shifter friends arriving.

Two officers suddenly appeared at the top of the sandy hill, and the fact they didn’t come with flashlights to help them see through the darkness helped me work out that they were shifters.

“Damn…” one of them whistled. “Mordaine was right.”

The mention of that name caused my pack to let out sighs of relief, and I comfortably returned to my hybrid form in order to talk to the two men.

“Oh, shit,” the second cop chuckled as he spotted my enormous werewolf form.

The shock didn’t last for too long, and then they plodded down the side of the mound with their hands braced on their hips.

  “Mordaine sent you?” I asked.

“He sure did.” A cop nodded. “But he wasn’t fucking kidding when he said we might need to help The Alpha at some point this weekend. You really are The Alpha?”

“That’s me,” I chuckled, and my laughter boomed around the enclosed space. “I’m assuming you’ll help me out here?”

“Of course, Jesse,” the other replied. “Don’t you worry, we’ll get this sorted out. We’ll call the cleanup team, and they’ll be right over. It’s good to have you here. You should come more often.”

“Maybe when I’m not being stalked and targeted,” I snickered. “Thanks for all your help. I appreciate it.”

“Anything for Mordaine, and for you.” He grinned.

“You go and make sure Hazel’s okay.” Aunt Eva patted my shoulder caringly. “We’ll bury the bodies out here, and then we’ll head back to the hotel when the cleanup crew gets here.”

It’s a good thing we have the access code to unlock the front doors, Benji laughed. I’m not sure sand is the most comfortable thing to sleep on.

Knowing what you’re like with sleeping, I’m sure this isn’t the first time you’ve fallen asleep on an uncomfortable bed before, Azalea chuckled.

Yeah, you’re probably right. Benji shrugged his broad shoulders. Alright Jesse, go. Go and make sure Hazel Wise hasn’t gone insane in the bedroom.

My omegas and I didn’t hesitate as we ran and flew toward the sandy mounds, and we all shifted back into our human forms as we slipped down the other side. The hotel was far enough away that neither of the hotel workers would have seen us out here with their human vision, but we hurried to reach our clothes and change back into them just in case.

Once we’d made it back to the hotel, I used the outdoor shower to quickly wash off the majority of the blood from my chest, but I took one of the spare towels to make it seem like I had been in the pool for the last twenty minutes.

The two workers were still at the reception desk as we walked into the lobby, and one of them made a joking comment about us being night owls. But because it was going to be much later before the other betas arrived, I made up a quick lie and said they had driven back to Vegas to enjoy some of the casinos.

I silently informed the group of this lie, so they knew to play along whenever they were able to return.

“Sorry about all the noise, too, there’s some crazies with guns messing with the coyotes out in the desert over there,” one of the workers said as she chewed her gum. “I heard some cops show up, though, so it should be good now.”

“Oh.” I nodded as casually as I could. “Wow. That’s… intense. Thank you.”

“Yep.” She blew a bubble and went back to staring at her phone.

Once my omegas and I had left the lobby, we raced toward our hotel room with the desperate need to see Hazel.

I knocked my knuckles against the door a couple of times, and when Hazel didn’t answer, I said it was me, and that it was safe to come out now.

The SDD agent threw the door open only seconds later, and she just about doubled over on herself as the relief poured from her in the form of deep, panting breaths.

“Oh, my god,” she said with one hand over her heart. “That was the worst fucking thing I’ve ever experienced.”

I threw my arms around Hazel without thinking twice about it, and she didn’t seem at all bothered by my wet chest soaking through her dress.

  “I’m okay, we’re okay, you’re okay,” I reassured her.

“Were you watching?” Blair asked as we walked further into the room.

“No, absolutely not!” Hazel laughed sarcastically. “But I could hear everything, and when that final howl was heard at the end, I… Fuck, I thought it might have been you.”

“It was just the other alpha crying out in pain as I killed him.” I smirked, but Hazel’s face paled like she was about to throw up. “Sorry, I suppose you humans don’t find that as funny as we do.”

“No, we really don’t.” Hazel held one hand against her mouth, but then she lowered it as she took a deep breath. “But, hey, at least it’s over now, right?”

“Right.” I smiled. “I don’t know who that guy was, all I know was that he was a werecoyote, but you’ll probably see it on my file soon, so I’ll let you inform me.”

“I’ll check it when I get back to my hotel room…” Hazel’s almond eyes widened. “Shit, my hotel room. What time is it? I’ll need to pack everything away before I leave for the airport.”

“It’s twelve-fifty,” Hailey replied. “What time do you need to be at the airport?”

“Five-thirty,” the agent grumbled. “I hope I’ll be able to sleep on the plane.”

“Well, you can stay here if you need to, then one of my betas could drive you to get your stuff?” I suggested. “Or they can take you now, and you can try and nap for a couple hours before you need to check out.”

“I’ll…” Hazel paused for a second. “I think I’ll just head there now. That way I can check your file, too. If that’s okay, of course.”

“I’ll make that happen.” I smiled.

Spencer was more than happy to drive Hazel back to Vegas, and once I was certain the agent was okay, I apologized again for the night she had to endure, and then I walked her down to meet my beta captain.

I gave Hazel one last hug, and I promised I’d see her again soon.

It was no surprise to find my omegas sprawled out on the beds when I returned, because it had been a long day for everyone involved.

But Hailey was quick to jump out of bed when I mentioned that I was going to take a proper shower.

“Can I join you?” she asked innocently.

  “Of course.” I smirked.

My omegas let out a chorus of evil giggles as I closed the door behind me and Hailey, and if that wasn’t a sign to say that our night had only just begun, that I didn’t know what was.

It no longer seemed to matter how tired we were.

When it came to satisfying my omegas, I always found the energy to do just that.

  Chapter 19

I’d barely turned on the shower before Hailey threw herself at me. Her dress from this evening had been abandoned on the floor beside her heels, and she’d tugged my swimming shorts down my legs with one single pull.

The second we stepped into the shower, Hailey crouched down on her knees once again, and I didn’t need to read her mind to work out what she’d planned to do next.

“I’ve been thinking about this since the fight started,” Hailey whispered as she stared up at me.

She used one hand to delicately stroke my cock, and it began to harden with just that simple touch.

“Then don’t hold back,” I groaned. “Let your emotions free.”

  “I plan to.” Hailey smirked.

Water pounded against my tense muscles, but as Hailey placed her plump lips around my hardened dick, I threw my hands out against the walls to hold my balance.

“Yessss,” I hissed as I watched her head bob back and forth.

Hailey ran her tongue across the underside of my cock, and then she lightly grazed the sensitive skin with her top teeth as my dick slipped further down her throat.

  “Mhmm,” Hailey moaned.

“Gahaaaa!” I cried as tiny vibrations shot through my member.
