His driver tried to soothe him. “Sir, we can rebuild. This is just a setback. You lost a few men, Hisnul ibn-Jannah destroyed, and the warhead gone. In time, you will come back stronger than ever. If Allah wills it.”

“Shut up! Everything is gone, ruined, finished. Do you know what they’ve done, Jamal? They’ve made the world a safer place.” He shook his head, “We’re ruined.”
He looked behind as they drove away, and the heap of broken stone that had once been Hisnul ibn-Jannah was like gravestones, as if to mark the burial place of his dreams of bloodthirsty conquest.
“Drive, Jamal. We’re ruined,” he said again. He was weeping, “Ruined.”
