Hello! Thank you for joining me for Book Six of The Recruit Series. It’s been one hell of a ride, hasn’t it? After five books and new characters introduced in each one, I thought it might be handy to have a quick reference guide of characters before you delve into Book Six. If you’re like me, it doesn’t matter how much you love or reread a series, there are still times where you can’t quite remember who the heck someone is!
Don’t worry, there is no spoiler info for characters, and if it’s a brand new character introduced in this book, they’re not included in this reference.

Hannah
Former human college student turned Lycan. She joined the recruit program to avenge her sister’s death, and she likes to use swords to murder vampires. She just recently had a baby boy named Gavin, with her mate, Will.

Will
Lycan instructor for the recruit program. He started the recruit program with former director, Richard, to avenge his parents’ deaths after they were murdered by vampires. He is a very effective vampire killer, mated to Hannah, and just recently became a father to a baby boy named Gavin.

Sara
Hannah’s younger sister. Brutally murdered by vampires in front of Hannah in Book One. She is the reason that Hannah joined the recruit program.

Chen
Human sword master and instructor for the recruit program. He had a hand chopped off in a fight with a vampire. Close with Hannah and Will, he loves kittens and is dating Andrew.

A former human preschool teacher, she was turned into a vampire, but was given an experimental drug by the recruit program that restored her soul. She joined the humans in their fight against the vampires. She has the ability to turn other vampires into “good” vampires by feeding them her blood. She can walk in the daylight, although with too much sun exposure she will start to burn. Currently, she is a recruit in the program, best friends with Miranda, and in a relationship with Mannie.

Miranda
A former human turned Lycan. she was bitten by a random Lycan while camping in the woods and then saved by two born Lycans named Theresa and Travis. She joined the recruit program after Travis was murdered. She is best friends with Olivia and is in a relationship with Ryder.

Ryder
A born Lycan who joined the recruit program as the stakes and knives instructor. He was secretly working with Will’s former pack member, Anden, to kidnap Will, Hannah, and their baby from the facility and bring them to Anden. But he fell in love with Miranda and when he realized that Anden was lying to him, his loyalty turned from Anden to Will. He helped rescue a kidnapped Miranda and Will from Anden. He is now in a relationship with Miranda.

Douglas
A born Lycan who is an instructor for the recruit program, he was a member of Will’s former pack. He is in his eighties and enjoys art, music and the occasional killing spree of vampires and traitorous humans.

Jordan
A human, he is the current director of the training facility. He replaced Richard when he died in Book Two. He’s tough but fair, but he has had a difficult time earning the instructors’ and recruits’ trust.

A human doctor, she runs the infirmary at the recruit program. She is good friends with Natalie.

Natalie
Hannah’s mother. She’s a sweet hippie who likes to bake. She used to be human but was turned into a vampire. Olivia forced Natalie to drink her blood which restored Natalie’s soul. Adoptive mother to Luther and Tyrone.

Hannah’s father, he is an accountant and good guy. He loves his family, his dog, and his grill. He asked Olivia to save his wife when Natalie was turned by an insane vampire. Adoptive father to Luther and Tyrone.

A human teenager who joined the recruit program. He was orphaned as a small boy and grew up in foster care. He tried to pickpocket Hannah’s swords and was caught. He is a genius with a staggeringly high IQ. He likes smoking weed, swearing, and hitting on Miranda. He was bitten by a vampire but was saved by his identical twin brother Tyrone. He is very talented at killing vampires.

A human teenager who joined the recruit program with his identical twin brother, Luther. He was orphaned as a small boy and grew up in foster care. He is also a genius with a staggeringly high IQ. He likes inventing things with his brother, swearing, and hitting on Olivia. He is very talented at killing vampires.

A paranormal firefly with large gossamer wings. She was abandoned by her firefly family after they were attacked by a paranormal creature called a gamjee. Miranda and Selena rescued her from the gamjee. She loves Miranda and Ryder best, but is also very close to Luther and Tyrone. She speaks her own language but is learning the English language. The twins taught her to curse, and she’ll bite if you make her angry enough.

Chapter 1
“I need you to work another few hours.”
She turned and clutched her robe closed when Terry’s gaze dropped to her tits. “I’ve been working since five. My shift is done.”
“Too fucking bad, Amber. We just got in a shitload of customers, and a few of them want some girls for private dances.”
“No,” she said. One of the new girls, Samantha, slipped by her. She was wearing a teeny blue bikini top that barely covered her giant breasts, a cowboy hat, and a pair of ass-less chaps. As she walked by Terry, he reached down and goosed her, wheezing laughter when she jumped and made a startled shriek.
She scurried away as a booming voice said, “Next up on the stage is Samantha. She’s a feisty little cowgirl looking for a cowboy to ride. Give her a hand, boys!”
The scattered applause was light and apathetic.
She scowled at Terry. “I’m tired, and I want to go home.”
“Like I said, too fucking bad. Both Dana and Goldie called in sick. Get your ass to the private room with Lisa and Jolene or you’re fucking fired. You get me?”
She nodded, trying not to flinch when Terry touched her long blonde hair. “You’ve been working here long enough to know how this works, little girl. If you’re nice to Terry, Terry’ll be nice to you. He reached down to cup her breast through her robe, and she shoved his hand away.
“Don’t touch me.”
He glared at her before smoothing his shirt down over his belly. “You think you’re fucking better than the other girls? You’re not. You’re trash, just like them, and sooner or later you’ll be begging me for this.” He grabbed his crotch and thrust it obscenely at her.
“Touch me again and you’ll regret it.” She tried to sound authoritative, tried to mask the fear in her voice, but she must have done a piss-poor job of it, because Terry just grinned at her. She recoiled at the sight of his rotting teeth, and his grin widened.
“Like I said, sooner or later, bitch.”
He walked out of the dressing room, and she slumped against the wall. Her pulse was racing, and her breath was coming in harsh gasps. She wiped away the sweat on her forehead and reapplied her lipstick then left the dressing room and headed toward the private dance rooms.
She slipped inside the biggest one. Lisa and Jolene were already there, both of them naked except for tiny thongs. Three men were standing on the far side of the room, all of them tall and broad and weirdly pale. A trickle of apprehension slid down her back when the biggest of them stared at her. He was dark-haired with light blue eyes and when he smiled at her, her apprehension grew. He was dressed in jeans and a t-shirt that clung to his muscular frame.
Please don’t let him pick me, please don’t let him pick me.
She took off her robe and hung it on the hook next to Lisa and Jolene’s. She was wearing the same tiny thong that the other girls wore, but she could have been naked for all she cared. After three years of stripping, she had no qualms about being naked in front of anyone.
Lisa put her hands on her hips, legs posed seductively as she smiled at the impossibly handsome men. “Good evening, boys. Before we get started, please remember the golden rule – no touching during the lap dance. Is everyone clear on that?”
All three nodded in agreement. She took a deep breath and followed Lisa and Jolene to the three men. Jolene stopped in front of the biggest one, and her heart sank when he shook his head and pointed at her.
“Amber,” Jolene said in a sweet baby-girl voice, “this handsome fella wants you.”
She pasted a smile on her face and followed him as he walked to one of the leather couches in the room. He sat down and as music drifted out of the speakers attached to the walls, she turned and backed up between his spread legs. She closed her eyes and floated away on the music, moving on instinct and muscle memory as she rubbed and gyrated her ass against the man’s crotch. She could feel his dick hardening and she circled faster, arching her back and lifting her hair up with her hands before staring over her shoulder. She smiled seductively and ran her tongue along her bottom lip.
