“It’s not fair.”
Lindy’s small voice was barely audible in the hustle and bustle of the dock. But the mariner heard it. Kneeling down, he placed two large hands on her tiny shoulders. “What’s not fair?” he asked.
“You did everything for everyone else and never got any wishes for yourself,” Lindy said sadly.
The mariner shook his head and pulled his sweet daughter in for a hug. How wrong she was. He had gotten everything he could have ever wished for—and more. “I’ve got my three little wishes right here,” he said, pulling back and wiping away the tear that slid down Lindy’s cheek. There was nothing more in the world he could want or need than what he had right in front of him.
Standing, the mariner turned and put an arm around Dalia. Then he watched as Jasmine gestured for them all to climb onto the carpet. Looking over, the mariner met Aladdin’s gaze. He nodded. He would happily accept his friend’s offer to live in Agrabah. How could he not? He had already traveled the world with his favorite people in the world. It had been his wish to find freedom and Aladdin’s wish to find happiness with Jasmine. Their wishes had come true. So now, all that was left was to live happily ever after.
