Alison's chance came three days later, although not in any way she had anticipated. The order came directly from the attorney general. She was to be moved to a secure facility, the federal prison at Terre Haute.

  As is typical with all prisoners, Allison was not informed beforehand. Law enforcement personnel took every precaution, aware that if word of their being moved got out, some prisoners would have comrades or family member aid in their escape.
