So, after the surgery, and as a result of the abuse, Anya lost the one thing she had that was truly hers. I’ve never let her come off as arrogant about her appearance, but she has always been fully aware that her face played an enormous role in her career. Beautiful women can often unlock doors others cannot, and as shameful as that it, it remains the truth. Anya didn’t choose to be beautiful. She wasn’t trained to be beautiful. It was simply a part of her that was uniquely hers. I took that away from her in this story, and I almost felt bad for doing so until she offered her toast in the Epilogue. When she acknowledged her transformation, recognized Penny as being more physically beautiful than she’s previously been willing to admit, and thanked Singer for leading her into her new life, we got to see a deeper, more sincere side of the former Russian assassin than ever before. As dramatic as all of those transformations were, to me, one of the most touching moments was when Anya told Chase to go home to be with Penny, where he belonged. I don’t know what’s coming next with Anya, but I’m excited to find out. Now that I’ve finished this manuscript, I’ll begin writing The Russian’s Envy, book #6 in The Avenging Angel – Seven Deadly Sins Series. If you’ve not begun Anya’s series yet, I would love for you to give it a try, beginning with book #1, The Russian’s Pride. For those of you who enjoy Anya’s character, I truly believe you’ll have a great time with her series.

In closing, I must thank you again for spending a few hours with me, and I hope you loved every word of the story. Six years ago, when this journey began, I believed I could tell Chase’s story in thirty books, but oh how wrong I was. We aren’t even halfway through, and this is book #27 in the series. I hope and pray I get to live long enough to see how all of this works out in the end.

I’d like to leave you with one final, deep, meaningful thing to take away from this story. I’ve done the intensive research (45 seconds on Google), and I’m pretty sure I’m the only writer in the history of the English language to publish the term sheep-flocker in a work of fiction.

  Cheers,

  Cap

  About the Author

  Cap Daniels

Cap Daniels is a former sailing charter captain, scuba and sailing instructor, pilot, Air Force combat veteran, and civil servant of the U.S. Department of Defense. Raised far from the ocean in rural East Tennessee, his early infatuation with salt water was sparked by the fascinating, and sometimes true, sea stories told by his father, a retired Navy Chief Petty Officer. Those stories of adventure on the high seas sent Cap in search of adventure of his own, which eventually landed him on Florida’s Gulf Coast where he spends as much time as possible on, in, and under the waters of the Emerald Coast.

With a headful of larger-than-life characters and their thrilling exploits, Cap pours his love of adventure and passion for the ocean onto the pages of the Chase Fulton Novels and the Avenging Angel - Seven Deadly Sins series.
