Attunement
A combination of currency and magical power, only those with blessings can actually check their status sheets to know their attunement levels. Attunement is granted directly by the gods for achievements and can be tranferred directly via physical contact.
Augmented Mending
A second tier wood spell that requires physical contact but allows the healing of serious wounds.
Basil's Cove
Micah's home, a coastal city and regional trade hub. A mid-sized city, it isn't anywhere near as cosmopolitan as larger cities sucha as Bitollan
Bitollan
Capital of Pereston, famed for its soaring architecture that incorporates both magic and blessings it is known as the City of Lights due to its almost constant magical illumination.
Brensen
The second tier of Daemons, roughly equivalent to a level 40 blessed. They resemble bipedal vultures with long skeletal claws.
Chronomancer
A specialization that increases the mana efficiency and power of time based spells drastically.
Drekt Garrul
A part Durgh warrior. Users a heavy cleaver/single bladed sword with a dull reverse end.
Durgh
A subterranean race of large musclebound humanoids with tusks and a dark complexion. They were created by and traditionally worship Ankros. The Durghd are known for being master craftsmen/metalworkers in addition to their overtly warlike demeanor. Durgh culture is focused around rigid rules of honor and respect, often tied into the concept of ritual combat.
Elementalist
A spellcasting class that limits the caster to just one element where they receive a modest bonus in power.
Elves
An almost extinct race that used to dwell in Karell's forests, focusing primarily on magical growth and knowledge over the course of their unnaturally long lives. They were originally created by and primarily worship Mursa.
Esther Silver
Micah's younger sister, precocious and a notorious gossip.
Flight
A fourth tier air spell that lets the caster fly.
Foresight
A fourth tier time spell that allows the caster to see events a couple seconds into the future.
Gale
A first tier air spell that buffets a target with a high speed gust of wind, potentially knocking it off course or into hazards.
Great Depths
A series of connected caves stretching deep into the earth. Home to many of Karell's more dangerous monsters as well as the Durgh Khanates.
Haste
A fourth tier time spell that lets the caster speed the movement and perceptions of the recipient.
Heal
A third tier wood spell that functions as 'augmented mending' healing serious wounds but at range.
Healing Wave
A fourth tier wood spell that heals a large number of targets at range.
Humans
The primary race of Karell, Humans dominate the planet's surface and primarily worship Luxos.
Jo Redflower
A partially elvish scout with a wild streak to her, Micah's on and off love interest. She's Sarah's younger sister.
Karell
The planet/domain created by the sixteen deities. The location where all mortals dwell.
Karin Dakkora
Legendary spellcaster and researcher that sought the answers to forbidden questions, earning the enemity of most of the world.
Kingdom of Pereston
The Kingdom containing Basil's Cove and Bitollan. Micah has lived his entire life in Pereston
Luoca
The third tier of Daemons, roughly equivalent to a level 60 blessed. They resemble locusts the size of a bull with the head of a human and the tail of a scorpion.
Luxos
The God of Sun and Growth. He is the patron of Humans and the primary source of Sun attunement/mana. His church contains most humans and focuses on cultural conformity and raising standards of living in an attempt to improve humanity as a whole.
Magi
A class that requires more than five levels in spellcasting, two or more affinities, and one level in ritual casting. Magi gain one point in Mind and Spirit per level.
Mending
A first tier wood spell that allows the caster to heal light wounds.
Mursa
The Goddess of Moon and Magic. She is the patron of the Elves and the primary source of Moon attunement/mana. Her church is diffuse and disorganized but it focuses on the accumulation of knowledge and research as a path to self-improvement.
Onkert
The first tier of Daemons, roughly equivalent to a level 20 blessed. They resemble gorillas with the heads of wolves.
Paralytic Sting
A third tier wood spell that requires physical contact. It magically induces paralysis in its target.
Plant Weave
A first tier wood spell that allows the caster to control simple plants, turning vines or grass into barriers or snares.
Pressure Spear
A third tier air spell that drastically improves upon air knife, dealing modest ranged piercing damage.
Refresh
A first tier wood spell that cleanses and detoxifies the recipient, curing modest fatigue.
Regeneration
A fourth tier wood spell that steadily heals a target over time.
Root Spears
A second tier wood spell that spurs the growth of roots/underground plants and turns them into a series of spikes that jut out of the ground, attacking a wide area.
Sarah Redflower
A partially elvish archer. Jo's older sister. Very cold, but protective of her sister.
Sonic Bolt
A second tier air spell that attacks using soundwaves. It has short range but generally ignores armor.
Telivern
An albino enlightened stag. Capable of tactile empathy, for a long stretch of time Telivern is Micah's only friend.
Temporal Transfer
A fourth tier time spell that lets the caster transfer temporal energy from one target ot another.
Thaumaturge
A class that requires three or more affinities, and ten skill points each in spellcasting, enchanting, and ritual casting. It grants one point in Mind and Spirit per level as well as one 'free' point that could be assigned anywhere.
Time Echos
A fourth tier time spell that allows the caster to see recent past events that took place at a location.
Trevor Silver
Micah's older brother, a spear wielder with a bit of a drinking problem.
Updraft
A third tier air spell that aids jumps or climbing by creating an upward gust of wind.
Westmarch
A fortress/citadel in Pereston guarding the main entrance/exit to the Great Depths.
Will Grantly
A human warrior with a rare blessing, thrust into combat situations over his head due to the power of his blessing.
Wind Shield
A second tier air spell that creates a barrier made out of buffeting wind. Useful for stopping ranged attacks.
Wind Spear
Micah's common tier spear art.
Wizard
A class that requires one level in spellcasting and more than one affinity, grants one ability point per level (split evenly between mind and spirit)
