What If the Star Wars Sequels Were Based on a Kurosawa Movie Just Like the Original Star Wars?
Brilliant Building
Fans of Star Wars know full well the debt George Lucas owes to Akira Kurosawa for many of the elements that inspired Star Wars, but few have considered plundering once again from the cave of samurai movies in order to bring back the magic! This thought experiment takes us through that scenario with the point of view that wholesale plagiarism is the key to reviving the franchise.Going on holiday should be fun, but what if your horrible brother is sitting behind you? This is a graded PHONICS reader. It deals mainly with common blends such as ‘th’ ‘sh’ ‘ch’ and ‘fl’ ‘bl’ ‘fr. This is LEVEL 8 BOOK 2

From teeming city streets to a lethal jungle to a trap-filled alien temple, Han, Chewbacca, Leia, and their daring new comrade confront one ambush, double cross, and firestorm after another as they try to keep crucial intel out of Imperial hands.

Star Wars: This War
Takianna
This story follows Anakin Skywalker & Captain Rex through the perils of war and through the loss of one of their own. Here is a short excerpt of the book, the second one in the Terra Two series, published in June 2014. Sister Roberta didn't want to look too impressed because she had rightfully earned the reputation of a genius for whom nothing was impossible, but she had to admit that Purple's capabilities went so far beyond human limitations it would have been stupid to turn down the already processed knowledge for the dubious glory of reinventing the wheel.Sys stood next to her, smiling and acting as if it had offered the sister a stick of gum, completely unmoved by the complexity and advanced technical knowledge required to generate this science presentation. Roberta wondered how come the um didn't act superior, any human certainly would have. It was not that Sys didn't have internal processes that acted very similar to human emotions, it loved its mother, was very protective of its school friends and could get happy or sad on occasion, but it had a seemingly infinite patience, an avid thirst for knowledge and a complete lack of ego which Roberta suspected had more to do with its Purple kinship than its human upbringing."I see the energy field is definitely strong enough to push us to hyperspace, what else can it do?" she asked Sys.Sys didn't answer but picked up a tin beaker between its cupped palms and slowly turned it into a plastic flower, a broccoli spear and finally a bubble of milk. Sys and Roberta stared at the milk ball for a while, the liquid acted as if floating in imponderability with the surface tension as its only container, a gooey ellipsoid spinning slowly around its slanted axis."Holy mercy!" Seth exclaimed, staring open mouthed at the willful transformation of matter. The leader seemed to be everywhere at the same time and never missed the important breakthroughs of their community. Her comments startled um, who lost its focus and allowed the milk to splash on the floor, subject to gravity again."How come it didn't turn back into tin?" Seth asked. Um looked puzzled at the question, not understanding the logic."How are you doing this?" Sarah whispered from behind Seth."They're the same sub-atomic components, I'm just reorganizing them," um said simply, a bit bothered by the all the attention.Roberta had regained her confidence and recognized some of the equations from way back when she fused materials together and pulled Jimmy from the beach. The theoretical model made perfect sense to her, of course, but all the other sisters who had gathered in the lab in the meantime were more befuddled by the equations themselves than the miraculous transformation of matter."Well, I guess we can all stop cultivating the fields now," sister Joseph commented, for once not protesting but a little unsure of her footing. "We can make cat-brain's toy here turn dirt into potatoes and we won't ever have to worry for nothing.Sarah smiled at the fine irony; they have been praying twice a day for almost two hundred years to a God who told them nothing was impossible and now everyone was confused by the fact that this promise was in fact true."I like cultivating the fields, it's good exercise and something to look forward to every morning," Sarah answered, still smiling. "Why waste a perfectly good miracle on something you can do for yourself?" she continued."At least we know there will be no more emergencies," sister Mary-Francis commented."Unless something happens to the sugar toy," sister Joseph replied. "We should make more of them, you know, to be on the safe side," she said and the corner of her eye caught a glimpse of a very flushed Sarah who looked petrified with outrage."Yeah, yeah, it's your child, blah, blah, insensitive, I know. Get over it!" sister Joseph said unfazed. "Seriously, shouldn't we have more ums?" she turned to Seth.
Star Wars: The Hunter's Gambit: Book 1, Revelations
Jim Limber Davis
Winning the Great Hunt of Mandalore was just a turning point. Erikson Autarchic survived far greater ordeals which propelled him to victory in one of the galaxy’s more infamous tribunals of skill, courage, and cunning; and it’s been nearly ten years since. The showdown between him and the two catalysts which forced this journey upon him is looming ever nearer.Set nearly a thousand years before the slaughter of Darth Plageuis and the rise of Emperor Palpatine with the execution of order 66, this series is about a young boy whose family was ripped away by Jedi serving the Republic. They wanted no opposition and followed their orders meticulously to terminate all non-Jedi orchestrated training and control all new Force sensitive beings to serve the Republic or be watched closely. This included the Revanite training camps where this young boy would be separated from his family. He was deemed not Force sensitive by the Jedi and orphaned while his parents and sister were sent to a prison and reeducation facility on a distant world. As he aged he learned a great many skills ranging from pilot and engineer to warrior and spy in the ranks of the Republic Navy all the while unraveling his secret powers, still unnoticed by the Jedi. From the age of five until twenty-two, this victim of Republic arrogance acquired skill after skill until he found a calling as a smuggler bringing medicine to the victims of the Republic’s war with the Empire in order to earn the credits to free his family from that Republic prison planet by paying the tyrannical fines levied against them. Some benevolent defenders of liberty the Jedi and their Republic turned out to be.Eventually Republic law caught up to this young smuggler and his ship was confiscated. To make matters worse, he learned shortly thereafter that Imperial operations succeeded in destroying that Republic prison in a raid against Jedi leadership.Ten years later with nothing to lose, grudges still burning hot, and a team of allies at his side, Erikson Autarchic is about to change things forever if he survives the return of Revan.

their first meeting. Since then, Thrawn has been one of the Empire’s
most effective instruments, pursuing its enemies to the very edges of
the known galaxy. But as keen a weapon as Thrawn has become, the Emperor
dreams of something far more destructive. Now, as Thrawn’s TIE
defender program is halted in favor of Director Krennic’s secret Death
Star project, he realizes that the balance of power in the Empire is
measured by more than just military acumen or tactical efficiency. Even
the greatest intellect can hardly compete with the power to annihilate
entire planets. As Thrawn works to secure his place in the
Imperial hierarchy, his former protégé Eli Vanto returns with a dire
warning about Thrawn’s homeworld. Thrawn’s mastery of strategy must
guide him through an impossible choice: duty to the Chiss Ascendancy, or
fealty to the Empire he has sworn to serve. Even if the right choice
means committing treason.

As the Jedi and the Republic focus on internal struggles, a new threat surfaces, unnoticed, beyond the farthest reaches of the Outer Rim.
