Lullaby Dies, page 2
“Do you worry about that often? Someone unwanted coming up the stairs?”
She shrugged. “Not really, but I watch a lot of true crime. That’s just as bad as any horror film.”
He smiled and before she took another step, he wrapped one hand around the back of her neck and pulled her in close. “I’ve been dying to taste these lips.”
“Don’t die before you give me an orgasm.”
“Oh, honey, I plan to be around a long time to give you many of them.”
He bent his head and captured her lips with his, and there was nothing soft or safe about it. He completely dominated every caress, every breath, obliterating any notion of how a kiss should be. She had sudden clarity that this was going to change her world forever.
Sidonie hoped only for the good. Her heart pounded. Her knees threatened to buckle. Little jolts of electricity danced across her skin. He backed her up against the wall, trapping her, and she brought her hands up to his chest to glide over his muscles. Up and up, until she buried her fingers in his hair and pressed her aching breasts against his chest.
They broke for air, but he kept brushing his lips over hers. The heat between her thighs turned into a throbbing pulse. She wanted more, so reluctantly pulled back and took his hand, steering him toward her bedroom and pushing until he sat down on her bed.
Then she peeled her t-shirt over her head. He licked his lips as his lustful gaze traveled over her heated flesh. Sidonie pushed one strap on her bra down her shoulder, then moved to the other, until the straps hung limply. Flicking the front clasp, the scrap of material fell to the floor. Wanting to tease him a little, she cupped the heavy mounds.
“Come here so I can lick those dark berries,” he said, his voice thick with arousal.
“These dark berries?” she asked coquettishly, pinching each nipple. Letting them play peek-a-boo through her fingers. “You wanna suck them?”
“Yeah.”
She bent over a little. “You wanna fuck them?”
He squeezed his hard cock through his jeans. “More than anything.”
Grinning, she slid her hands from her breasts, down her torso until she reached her jeans. She unbuttoned them and slowly wiggled them down her legs.
“You’re so goddamn beautiful.”
Sidonie slowly pivoted, turning around, and looking at him over her shoulder. Then she hooked her panties with her fingers and let them drop, bending forward a little and smacking one butt cheek.
“What about fucking this ass?”
“Come over here and I’ll answer that question.”
She turned around. “Oh, but you have too many clothes on.”
Smirking, he stood and did his own striptease. Off came his leather cut. He reached over his shoulder and pulled his t-shirt over his head. Before he could take off his jeans, however, she stepped up close and did it for him. He watched with an intense stare as she fell to her knees before him. Looking up, running her tongue over her bottom lip, she tugged his jeans down, revealing a long, fat cock.
“No boxers?” she murmured, curling her fist around his shaft and giving it an exploratory pump. A bead of pre-cum appeared at the slit, so she leaned over and lapped it up. He moaned. “I absolutely love sucking a thick dick.”
He grabbed her chin and smacked his cock lightly across her lips. “Then suck it real good, you naughty girl.”
She teased his cock with her tongue, playing with it until drool and pre-cum dripped down her chin and onto her chest. Then she wrapped her soft lips around him, moaning as his flavor burst across her tastebuds. Salty. Sweet. Fucking delicious. She picked up her pace, hollowing her cheeks as she took him into the back of her throat. His gaze was focused on her, as if mesmerized by the sight of her on her knees in front of him. Swallowing him down. Gently cupping the sides of her head, he rocked into her mouth. She gagged a little as he took over fucking her mouth. All the way in, holding for a few seconds, and then releasing. Over and over as tears ran down her cheeks. He’d push himself as deep as she could take him. This was more than just a blowjob. More than a quick fuck.
This man was addictive.
Sidonie rubbed her thighs slightly together, trying to abate the throbbing heat between her legs. For a moment, she thought he was going to finish in her throat, but he abruptly pulled away, sucking deep breaths into his lungs.
“Damn, woman. You’re gonna make me come.”
“Isn’t that the point?”
He pulled her up and banded an arm behind her waist. His heart thundered under her palm. “The point is to make each other come. And I want you, my beauty, to cream all over my tongue.”
Then he slid a hand behind one of her knees and half turned, dumping her on the bed. She bounced a little, smiling as he kneeled on the mattress. Ghost ran his hands up her calves, forcing her knees open and exposing her pussy. Dark lips hid a pink center, and he stroked a finger through her wet slit. Her hips bucked upward, wanting him to move faster. To sink his fingers, or something, into her needy cunt so she could orgasm.
“Fuck, you’re so wet,” he said. “All mine. Just for me.”
Wrapping one arm under her thighs, he lifted one of her legs onto his shoulder, and placed a quick kiss on the inside of her thighs. A shaky breath released itself from her chest as she felt his breath on her soaked slit. His tongue flicked across her clit once before his mouth covered her pussy, and sucked in her swollen clit, gently nipping at it. Flicking it with his tongue.
“Oh my God!” she moaned. “Yes!”
He gripped her ass cheeks tightly, keeping her still while he devoured her, controlling her body and her pleasure. Sidonie arched her back as he kept up his quick pace on her clit, and soon the telltale fluttering in her pussy signaled her climax was fast approaching.
“Ghost,” she panted. “I’m going to come.”
He didn’t answer. Instead, he stuffed two fingers into her pussy and made a come here motion, brushing against the nexus inside her. Her eyes rolled back in her head as she fell off the precipice, going up in flames. When he finally let go of her clit, he gave a few more swipes with his tongue to collect all of her cream.
He pushed himself up onto his knees and stroked himself, his cock rock hard as his gaze raked up and down her body. Sidonie dipped one finger into her still quivering core, pulling it out to suck her own juice.
“You were right,” he said. “You taste amazing.”
“So do you.”
He smirked then left her on the bed to grab his jeans. From his wallet, he pulled out a condom and sheathed himself. Climbing back on the bed, she let her legs fall wider as he draped himself over her.
“You ready?” he asked, leaning his head down to kiss her.
“Are you going to ruin me?” she asked, biting the lobe of his ear.
A low growl hummed from his mouth. “Ruin you for any other man.” He grabbed his cock and lined himself up at her center. “Goddamn, baby, you’re soaking. Fucking gorgeous.”
Then he pushed, sliding easily into her. Sidonie snapped her hips upward, and they moaned together. He started slow, thrusting shallowly, letting her get used to his invasion. Slowly, he sped up, until he pounded into her. Each thrust produced wet, sucking sounds from her pussy, her juices spilling out of her as he fucked her harder and deeper. Then her whole body shook as another orgasm washed over, taking her by surprise. She convulsed around his cock, holding him close as he continued fucking her, pumping in and out as his rhythm lost cohesion until, with a shout, he found his own release.
After a moment, he pulled out and fell to her side. They both panted, hearts thundering out of control. Skin slick with sweat. Ghost pulled the condom off, tied it up, and tossed it onto his jeans. Then he grabbed her arm and pulled her onto his chest, wrapping his own arms around her. She snuggled into his embrace.
Feeling drowsy and content, she closed her eyes. Sleep beckoned, but she needed to know one more thing.
“Is this a one-time thing, or will you be here in the morning?”
He kissed the top of her head. “Do you think I was kidding about you being my woman? Can’t get rid of me that easily.”
Smiling, she tumbled into dreamland.
Chapter Three
Present Day
Ghost rolled over in bed and searched for the warm body of his woman. An arm. A leg, A gorgeous, curvaceous ass. He curled his body behind it and slid his arm around her waist, pulling her into him and kissing the back of her head. The cute little pom-poms were gone, replaced by braids. The moment he’d laid eyes on her, she belonged to him and he to her. Never did he think he’d find someone he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, but now that he had Sidonie, he couldn’t imagine the rest of his life without her.
The past couple of months had been hard for the club. They’d lost two men when a bomb blew part of their clubhouse to smithereens. The culprit was still unknown, and it made him uneasy there was a psycho still out there.
Suddenly, a loud banging clanged in the hallway, startling both of them.
“Rise and shine!” Vivi yelled. Loudly.
“I’ll rise, but I refuse to shine,” Sidonie muttered. “Not today, Satan!”
“Love you too, Sid!” Vivi called back. “Rise and shine, everyone! I cooked breakfast!”
“Oh my God,” Ghost groaned. “We’re going to die of dysentery.”
Sidonie elbowed him and he gave a little grunt. “Come on, she’s trying.”
“The woman didn’t know there was an expiration date on eggs. And then she used those bad eggs to dunk bread in for French toast. Do you know how many of us had the shits that day?”
“Not me,” she said blandly.
Ghost began tickling her. She squealed and tried to get away, but moments like this were precious to him. Her laughter brought a rush of love. Yeah, he was fucking pussy-whipped, but he didn’t care. To the world he was a badass biker, but to this one woman, he was just Jeff.
“Stop! Stop! I’m gonna pee my pants if you don’t stop!”
He relented, leaning over her to kiss her soundly on the mouth. “Go on. You can piss first.”
“Oh, such a gentleman,” she said, and rolled her eyes. He made a threatening move to grab her again, and she screamed, hurrying off the bed to run into their attached bathroom.
He laughed when she slammed the door behind her. Rising, he grabbed his jeans on the floor and pulled them on, leaving to find another bathroom. No need to suffer with a full bladder if he didn’t have to. Once he was done and washed his hands, he headed downstairs to the kitchen to grab a cup of coffee.
Brim and Thorn had quickly shifted operations to a temporary place, namely Ronin’s huge house just outside the town limits. Ronin checked in weekly, but he was on assignment. Many brothers had their own homes, but some had to sleep wherever they could. Brim had bought a few couches and an assortment of recliners to help alleviate the sleeping situation, and some brought sleeping bags to crash on the floor.
Needless to say, they were virtually on top of each other.
Although Sidonie had offered to let him move in, his pride prevented that. He wanted to be an equal partner, not a homeless one. He only needed a few more contracts to afford a house, one he planned to share with her.
Vivi glanced up from the large kitchen island where she had an assortment of pancakes, waffles, fruit, toast, and cereal. There were a couple of boxes of doughnuts off to the side, and he made a beeline for them.
“Are you gonna have some pancakes?” she asked brightly. “I think I made them right this time. I checked the eggs. I checked the milk. I even put a little vanilla in them. Next time maybe I’ll experiment with fruit. Blueberries. Strawberries. Gooseberries. Actually, I have no idea what a gooseberry is so probably not that one. I’ve been watching Bridgerton.”
Vivi Wence was one of those people who had no filter. Whatever was in her head came out of her mouth. That, and her boundless energy, sometimes gave him a headache.
“No,” he replied. “I’m going to stick with something you haven’t cooked.”
She gasped. “Rude. Make one little mistake and you never live it down.”
“Some fuck-ups can’t be fixed.”
She stuck out her tongue just as a few others walked into the kitchen. They grabbed a paper plate and stacked them high with pancakes. Ghost eyed their food suspiciously before grabbing a glazed doughnut and walking away.
Sidonie yawned as she came down the stairs and he held up the sticky pastry.
“Love me?” he asked.
She grabbed it greedily. “You are a fantastic boyfriend.”
He raised an eyebrow. “You keep using the word boy.”
“Man friend sounds like a venereal disease.”
He snorted into his mug and it almost came out of his nose.
“Ghost has a venereal disease?” Vivi asked loudly from the kitchen.
“No, I don’t!” he yelled back. He glowered at Sidonie. “Thanks. You know she has the biggest mouth this side of the Mississippi, right?”
“I heard that!” Vivi called out.
“You were meant to!” he shouted back.
Sidonie grinned then stood on tiptoe to kiss his cheek. “Love you, babe.”
As she walked away, his gaze landed on her bottom. God, he loved that ass. His phone rang and he looked down at the screen. Thorn’s name popped up.
“Yeah?”
“Brim has a run for you,” the VP said.
“All right,” he replied. “Let me finish dressing and I’ll head over to his house.”
“I’ll let him know.”
The call disconnected. He followed after Sidonie, back into the kitchen. She sat in the dining room eating breakfast and scrolling through her phone.
“Hey, babe,” he said, moving to her side and squatting down. “Brim needs me. Can you get a ride to and from the bar?”
She touched his cheek. “Of course. Gonna be in later?”
“I don’t know,” he replied. “Depends. I’ll text you.”
“Okay.” She leaned over and kissed him on the mouth. “Be careful.”
He winked, straightened, and went to get dressed.

Leia smiled at him when she opened the door. He leaned over and kissed her cheek.
“I heard congratulations are in order.”
She blushed. “Yeah. Brim says he doesn’t care if it’s a boy or girl, but I’m hoping I give him a son. He’s in his office.”
Brim sat in what used to be the second bedroom, which had been quickly converted after the bombing. Thorn sat at another desk with an open laptop in front of him.
Ghost gave a knock on the open door. “Hey, Boss.”
Brim looked up. “Morning. Close the door, will ya?”
He shut the door with a soft click and leaned against it. “What’s up?”
“I need you to deliver a package to Kix.”
Thorn placed in front of him a puffed-out manila envelope. He picked it up and weighed it with his hands.
“Come again?”
“Kix’s money is clean now,” Brim said.
Ghost glared at him. “And we can’t send it electronically?”
“Kix didn’t want an electronic fingerprint,” Brim said. “Besides, he asked for you. You’ve been ignoring him.”
“Of course I am,” Ghost muttered. “He got me fired.”
“No, he didn’t,” Brim said calmly. “And you know that. You’re just being stubborn.”
He ran a hand over his face. “Yeah, I am, but that psychology isn’t going to sway me from suddenly not hating my biological brother. And you aren’t a fucking matchmaker.”
“I don’t know,” Thorn said, bemused. “Ever since Leia he could run a speed-dating night.”
Brim flipped him off. “Get out of here. Both of you.”
“All right,” Ghost said on a sigh. “I’ll be back in a few hours.”
“Don’t kill your brother,” Thorn said dryly. “Yeah?”
“Sure,” Ghost muttered. “You ruin all the fun.”
****
It took him about two hours to get to Rider Pass. It would’ve been a pleasant journey if not for the fact he had to talk to his estranged brother. His brief conversation with Brim played through his mind. Logically, he knew he had only himself to blame for losing his job, but his embarrassment needed company. Growing up, Chris would follow him around like a little puppy, until he’d gotten old enough and discovered motorcycles. Then their paths took radically different exits. He’d joined the force believing he could make a difference. Chris had adopted the name Kix and found a new family with the MC.
Maybe he was still a little bitter about that.
And maybe he didn’t want to let it go.
He rode up to the gates and idled his engine. One of the men on duty walked over.
“Hey, Ghost.”
“Hey,” he greeted back.
“The boss is expecting you.”
“Yep.”
The gate opened and he revved his engine, gave the man a thank-you wave, and proceeded to drive through the gate toward the large two-story farmhouse that acted as the headquarters for the White Death MC. Kix leaned against the porch railing, watching him, and Ghost admitted to himself that he’d missed him. Christopher Rockwood was his younger brother. He’d taken care of him when their father went AWOL and their mother drank herself into a stupor, which was like every night. The strain between them weighed heavily on his shoulders because he knew it was his fault Kix didn’t talk to him.
Ghost parked his bike and then took off his helmet before making his way over to the front steps of the house they called the “grandstand.” He stopped at the bottom.
“I didn’t think you’d come,” Kix said.
“Yeah, well, I wasn’t sure I wanted me to come, either.”
Kix took a deep breath. “I wanted to say that I’m sorry—”
“Stop. I don’t really want to talk about the past. It is what it is. Oh, and here’s your bullshit package.” He tossed it to Kix. “My club’s sole business is to launder money, and there’s not a fucking reason why we couldn’t do that electronically.”
