  Harris nods.

‘Good,’ she says, beaming. ‘I’ll see myself out. I’m sure you have a lot to think about.’

Indeed he did, Harris thought as Lauren closed the door quietly. He watched as she walked across the lawn back to the main house. Indeed he did.

Special thanks to my family: Leno, for continued kindness and encouragement throughout the writing process, my parents, sisters Molly and Amy, granny and uncle, and to Rebecca and Tom and all my close friends.

I would like to thank my wonderful agent Joanna Swainson and everyone at Hardman & Swainson for being such a brilliant team. Huge thanks to my editor Jennie Rothwell and to Kimberley Young, Charlotte Ledger, Bonnie Macleod, Emma Petfield, Lucy Bennett, Arsalan Isa, Chloe Cummings and everyone at One More Chapter and HarperCollins.   Everyone is capable of murder. Are you?

It started with an invitation to dinner. An evening of good food and good company at a luxury villa. But as the night progresses, the party takes a dark turn.

The host makes you an offer, a party favour he calls it: another guest has committed a heinous crime, you can end their life, stop their terror. He tells you there will be no consequences; do you believe him?

Your decision will change your life. Choose carefully.

Have you read the The Locked Attic?

There’s something in my neighbour’s attic.

Something steeped in shadows. A secret to everyone. Seen by no one…

He stands sometimes at the window. Hidden in the corner of my eye.

  I know he’s there. I know he’s watching.

Now my son is dead. My neighbour is not.

And I’m going to find out why.

  Don’t miss The Dinner Guest…

Four people walked into the dining room that night. One would never leave.

  Matthew: the perfect husband.

  Titus: the perfect son.

  Charlie: the perfect illusion.

  Rachel: the perfect stranger.

Charlie didn’t want her at the book club. Matthew wouldn’t listen.

And that’s how Charlie finds himself slumped beside his husband’s body, their son sitting silently at the dinner table, while Rachel calls 999, the bloody knife still gripped in her hand.

Classic crime meets Donna Tartt in this nerve-shredding domestic noir thriller that weaves a sprawling web of secrets around an opulent West London world and the dinner that ends in death.
