Her eyes lit up. “I would love that, Finch.” She threw her arms about him and gave him a thorough kiss.
“You won’t mind being apart from our friends?”
Victoria cupped his cheek. “This is something for us. It is something we will share. Experiences which we can talk about for years to come. Oh, I cannot wait to go.”
He laughed. “I am pleased you are so enthusiastic.”
She grew serious. “I would go anywhere with you. Being with you is everything to me. The fact we will have our child with us and introduce him or her to the place of your birth is the best thing I can think of.”
“The best thing in my life is you, Victoria. Your love has restored me. I am once again myself. It was a long journey but one well worth it. Because it brought me to you.”
Finch kissed his duchess, savoring her, knowing there would be a million more kisses yet to come.
