More Than Roommates, page 15
His eyes connected with something behind me and he waved with a smile, making me curious enough to turn around. Madison was waving back with a smile just as big, and she was close enough for me to see the hint of red in her cheeks when she saw me look at her. Letting her curls fall in front of her face, she turned to the girl trying to get her attention. But I could see her glancing at me quickly every now and then.
Bruce being the nosey little shit that he was, he threw an arm around my shoulders and guided me towards her. "Let's go have a talk with your girl, yeah?"
"She's not my girl."
"It better be mutual if you don't want your sister kicking your ass, then."
There was no way he knew. Or maybe he did. If he wasn't blind, of course he would catch on.
Shit. Did Alisson know?
"It kind of just happened." Was my weak attempt at justifying my actions. He was right, though. It was only a matter of time before Alisson kicked my ass for sleeping with yet another one of her friends. One that she clearly told me was off limits.
He nodded, slowing his steps as we got closer. Madison noticed our approach and dismissed herself from the girl she was talking to as she waited for us to reach her.
"Hey, Bruce," she greeted him first, tucking her hair behind her ear as she tilted her chin down at me in a quick silent greeting. I did the same.
"Hi, babe."
Both Madison and I turned to Bruce in shock, which only made him laugh. He removed his arm from around me and wrapped it around Madison instead, guiding her away from me. He was talking to her, but he had taken her far enough away that I couldn't decipher a single word spoken.
I hated being left out.
The only hint I got that he was being embarrassing was the awkward glances she sent my way and the shy blush in her cheeks. I was gonna kick his ass if he was telling her something about me.
Once he was done being secretive, he let go of her and signaled me over with a wave of his hand. When I caught up, Madison didn't even meet my eyes, letting me know that he did in fact tell her something about me. I glared at my best friend, and the smirk was further proof of my suspicions.
I flipped him the finger.
He dismissed himself shortly after, claiming his roommate texted him for some sort of help. Of course I didn't believe him, but Madison was clueless of the fact that he just wanted to leave us alone in the awkwardness he created.
We walked together towards our dorm room, with her not speaking a single word and me not knowing what to even say. Realistically, I wanted to ask what the fuck he told her, but I didn't want to make her feel more uncomfortable by making her repeat what he said.
Deciding it was best to just drop it and hope she just eventually forgot, I granted us access into our room and let her walk in first before letting the door close behind me.
She rushed into the bathroom and I pulled my shirt over my head and stepped out of my jeans to get into bed. The sound of the water getting turned on let me know she was gonna shower. I was tempted to ask to join, claiming that we should save water, but honestly doubted it was the right time for that.
Instead, I played a few games on my phone as I waited for her to get out. And when she finally did, she did so in nothing but a towel.
I gulped, and I felt pathetic for it. But it was something I had zero control over at the sight of her wet hair letting droplets of water fall onto her exposed skin. The towel wasn't even tightly around her body, it was loosely wrapped, exposing her entire back.
She stepped over to the closet and turned her tanned back towards me, digging through her undergarments. When she finally picked one, she bent down right in front of me and stepped into a red little thong, pulling it up her damp legs. The towel lifted as she fixed them on her hips, dropping back down to cover her perfect round ass again.
Her hands then picked out one of her oversized hoodies, the towel dropping completely to her ankles as she pulled all her hair over her shoulder. Her back remained facing me as she put said hoodie on, but I got just enough of a view of her side boob, and I could feel my dick hardening under my blanket.
She knew what she was doing, and she was doing it well.
CHAPTER 30
Madison
I wasn't sure why Bruce had to tell me that Blake's favorite color was red. Or that his weakness was lace, but I could only assume Blake might've told him about us.
Although that made me uncomfortable that he would talk about our sex to others, knowing his weakness was... helpful? I wouldn't know what it would help me with, but it was information I now had in mind. And for some reason I just wanted to test it out real quick before I went to Alisson's room to hang out.
The only red lace undergarment I had was my thong, but if it was really a weakness, I figured it'd be enough.
I really wasn't sure where my sudden boldness came from, considering I wanted nothing with men. Heck, I wanted no friends or distractions at all while I was here.
Yet here I was, trying to seduce a man I was trying hard not to fall for. A little bit of fun never hurt anyone, and as long as I didn't let things get too far, it would never hurt. At least that's what I was hoping for.
I took a bit longer to put on my pants, carrying them over to my bed. As I sat down, I looked up at Blake and noticed the pained expression on his face. It looked like he was holding back, and I felt a bit proud.
One thing he was really helping me with was my confidence. Never in my life would I have thought I'd be bold enough to do any of the things I had done with him already. Sure, I enjoyed sex, but I had never tried to initiate it before.
With him, it felt natural. I felt wanted. Desired.
Convinced the tip from Bruce actually worked, I quickly stepped into my pants and put on my shoes before stepping out of the room.
I made my way to Alisson's room with a smile on my face. He could deal with it on his own. Payback for him saying our business to others.
Once I was a good distance away from our room, I heard a door open. "You're such a tease," Blake announced and I froze. I spun around to glare at him, looking around to make sure no one heard him.
It wasn't enough for Bruce to know already?
"Will you shut up?"
The asshole was smirking, clearly loving that he got a rise out of me so quickly. He could eat a dick.
As I went to walk away again to go to his sister's room, he continued to embarrass me, "So you just got me hard to ditch me. It's like that?"
I stomped over to him, ignoring the cocky, satisfied smirk still on his face. I knew that's what he wanted all along, and I fell for it way too easily. But the last thing I wanted was for the entire building to know we were having sex.
When he opened his mouth to say something else, I slapped a hand over his mouth, pushing him backwards into the room. His hands went to my waist as his form of balance.
"You're irritating," I grumbled.
"And you're a fucking tease."
All I did was roll my eyes before pushing him the rest of the way in and running back out, running as fast as I could to Pat's room before he could shout anything else at me. By the time I reached her door and knocked, I was out of breath.
She opened the door with a smile on her face, until she saw me bent over trying to stop panting. "Uhh, are you okay?"
I waved her off. "I'm fine. Sorry I'm a bit late."
"Late?" She checked the time on her phone. "Oh. I just finished changing, so you're fine. Didn't notice you were even late."
To be fair, it was only ten minutes.
Once I was inside of her room, she led me to her bed and opened her laptop. We were seated side by side, our legs crossed as she swiped down on a variety of costumes. Her and Blake were throwing a Halloween party on the weekend, and she insisted of matching costumes. Told me she'd pay for mine if I just agreed to match.
I could've easily bought my own costume, but wouldn't wanna spend money on one, so I agreed to match for the sake of saving money. Honestly, my plan was to make a diy costume for it.
"Have you thought about any matching costumes at all?" She asked as she continued scrolling past the variety. "Angel and devil are classic, but honestly a little too classic. It's really cute but overused now."
I nodded in agreement. Everywhere you turned on Halloween, you saw at least one angel and devil duo. Cute, yes, but also too common.
"Nuns?" The look on my face alone was enough to give her my answer, and she laughed. "That's a no."
"Definitely not."
"Throw us some ideas, Mel," she grumbled at her roommate, who was busy on her own laptop.
Mel looked up from her screen and shrugged. "Daphne and Velma, maybe?"
Alisson's face lit up at the suggestion and honestly, I actually liked that idea. "You're a genius!" Pat exclaimed, immediately typing away to look at the options available. "You sure you don't wanna go? I can order you a costume as well while I'm here."
Mel shook her head, going back to studying. "No, I'm okay. I don't like parties."
"Alright, well thanks for the idea."
"Mhm."
There were several options for the costumes we wanted, and the different price points were concerning. I understood materials had a lot to do with the price but over a hundred dollars for something that would only get worn one night seemed like overkill. Alisson, however, didn't seem to care.
I watched as she picked the most expensive options and went to check out. My wallet hurt, and the money wasn't even coming out of my pockets.
"We probably could've went to the thrift store and gotten the same result for way cheaper."
Pat shrugged, moving on to find something else online. "Probably, yeah. But how long would it take? These will be here by tomorrow."
Choosing to argue about anything with her always resulted in her winning, so I dropped the subject and laid on my back instead.
I couldn't help but think about Blake as I stared at the popcorn ceiling, deciphering random shapes that most likely were only there due to my imagination. I was thinking how if I had probably stayed just a few minutes longer, I probably would've been under him by now.
Despite the fact that I craved him just as bad, I would like to avoid giving in to him too often. It was bad enough that I gave in at all. But I wasn't going to be readily available whenever he wanted. That was something I was trying hard to avoid.
I knew teasing him was evil, but it wasn't something I planned on doing, it just sort of... happened.
"I really want some sushi, what about you guys?" Alisson knocked me out of my thoughts and I stopped looking at the horse shape on her ceiling to nod at her.
"Get me a crunchy roll, please."
She lifted a brow. "A single roll?"
"Okay, two." I laughed.
"What about you, Mel?"
Mel shook her head, keeping her attention on her laptop. "I'm okay, I ate a bit earlier."
But Alisson wasn't satisfied with her answer. "I'll get an extra roll in case you change your mind by the time it gets here. And if you really don't want it, I'll eat it. Sound good?"
"Sure."
"Awesome."
Once the order was placed, it really didn't take that long to get here. And just like Alisson planned, Mel ended up accepting her roll.
Mel and I were struggling a bit to use the chopsticks, while Alisson handled them like a pro, grabbing her pieces and dunking them in her sauce without an issue.
We ate in silence for the most part, until Alisson finished her rolls and let out a heavy sigh.
I chewed the food in my mouth as quick as possible before asking, "What's wrong?"
Her eyes had a longing look to them, and I wondered what the issue could be. She always seemed so happy.
"I hate crushes that don't go away."
There was only one person I could assume she'd have a crush on. And that was only because of the way she always looked at him when he or her brother weren't looking. Bruce.
"I've never had that problem, but I bet it really sucks," was all I could really provide for her. I never really allowed myself to have meaningless crushes. And if someone managed to make me fall for them, then I just distanced myself until the feelings disappeared. Though, it was kind of impossible for her to really distance herself from someone that was always around her brother.
"It does suck." She threw herself back on the bed. "A lot."
The sadness in her voice made me suspect that maybe nothing could ever happen between them. Reasons I wasn't sure of, but also didn't wanna ask.
I never wanted to be in that situation.
CHAPTER 31
Blake
"You fucking asshole!" Alisson punched Bruce as he laughed, removing the ghostface mask he snuck up on her with to scare her. The prop knife he had on her neck also got retreated, while she shot daggers at him with her eyes.
If looks could kill, she'd do a way better job than the plastic knife he was holding.
"Sorry, Pat," my best friend chuckled. "Just got the package and wanted to try it on."
"Yeah, yeah." She then turned to me. "I need you to get out."
I raised a brow at her. "You're kicking me out of my own room?"
"I'm kicking you both out," she clarified as she bounced her eyes between Bruce and I. "My roommate is sleeping, so I can't take Madison to my room to change and get ready."
"Change in the bathroom."
Her eyes turned to slits as she glared at me, hands on her hips. Here we go. "Can't you be a gentleman for once?"
Madison snorted from her spot on the bed and pretended it was a sneeze when I looked over at her, rubbing under her nose as she sniffled. Keeping up the act that she was innocent, she met my eyes and smiled, going back to her book as if nothing even happened.
If Pat and Bruce weren't here, I would've attacked her with tickles until it turned sexual. Slowly putting my hands up her shirt as she tried her best to get out of my grasp.
Clearing my throat, I turned to walk out of the room. Maybe it was best not to think about that while my sister was around.
Bruce followed after me as Alisson waved goodbye at us, setting the box she brought with her on Madison's bed.

The moment Bruce said he didn't feel like drinking tonight, I went straight for the bar and downed my first three shots, happy that I wouldn't have to babysit anyone.
If I got fucked up, it wouldn't be a problem because all I had to do was go to my room. It was my house anyway, I could do whatever the fuck I wanted.
It was a bit annoying having to lift the ghostface mask every time I wanted to drink anything. But one thing was forsure, the ladies were eating it up.
Crazy how many girls had a mask kink. And kind of weird. But hey, who was I to judge.
Lifting the mask to the top of my head, I checked the time on my phone as I took another swig from the red solo cup in my hand, frowning at how late it already was. It wasn't strange for Alisson to be late, therefore it wasn't weird for Madison to be late, but they were really running late this time.
Unless they were already here and I just hadn't noticed. It didn't help that I didn't even know what the fuck they were wearing. Alisson didn't want to tell me what they ended up picking. Said it would be a surprise.
I hated surprises.
My eyes scanned around the room of masked or heavily painted faces, and was only left more confused. How the fuck was I supposed to find them if what they chose to wear required a mask.
It was like a game of Where's Waldo: level extreme.
Deciding it was best to text and ask if they were here yet, I unlocked my phone to text Madison. Since I knew Alisson would only snap at me for being impatient. Anyone would be impatient when she took that long for everything.
"Liver alone," a masked idiot spoke as he watched me text from over my shoulder. "They're not here yet."
I turned to my best friend, hitting send anyway. "How do you know?"
"Because I don't see a Daphne or a Velma anywhere in this house." He replied as if it were obvious. "Do you?"
So it was okay for him to know what their costumes would be, but not me? That girl's crush had got to go away already. She always prioritized him over me. It was getting ridiculous.
I knew it was childish, but he didn't deserve my sister anyway.
My phone dinged with a response and I looked back down to see a picture of my sister applying mascara. In the pic, I could see a bit of Madison in the mirror and Bruce watched as I zoomed into the pic like a creep, making Madison take up most of my screen.
"If you zoom in any closer, we're gonna see her pores. Relax."
Another ding had me swiping away from the pic to read her follow up message.
Madison: She said mascara was her last step, but who knows

I had stopped drinking temporarily to be able to notice when Alisson and Madison finally arrived to the party. The moment I saw a fake redhead and a brunette, I pushed through the crowd to check if it was them.
Alisson smiled at me, as if she didn't break a record for the longest she had taken getting ready. "Hi."
"Hi?" I crossed my arms over my chest. "What the fuck took you so long?"
She rolled her eyes, choosing to ignore me as she grabbed Madison's hand and pulled her deeper into the party, in the direction of the bar. Madison didn't even look at me.
What was wrong now?
Confused, I followed them to the bar and got another drink for myself. I wasn't sure how to start a conversation, so I just sipped my drink slowly as I watched her over the rim of the cup.
She was really avoiding my eyes.
I knew Alisson didn't want anything to happen between us, but I doubted she'd say something to her to make sure nothing ever did. But maybe she did.
I understood if she was scared if Pat told her I've broken many hearts, or if she told her I never ever settled, but it wasn't something I hid. If anything, Madison knew all that since the very beginning. Hell, she avoided getting too close to me for weeks.
Alisson handed Madison her drink and she wasted no time in chugging it. As she turned to order another straight after, I took the time to check out her costume.
