A Doctor How short story. The famous red ring of Uranus is missing! It has to be in place for astronomer William Herschel to discover it, or humanity’s timeline will be corrupted. All the Doctor and Kevin have to do is travel back to 1789 to blow up a disused helium-3 mining ship which was accidentally left orbiting Uranus. What could be more fun than a simple demolition job? However, they weren’t counting on an awkward computer, or alien super-predator Trinity being so dopey after a night out on the prowl feasting on fresh flesh… An easy afternoon turns into a deadly race against time. Doctor How is a new five volume series. Book one: Doctor How and the Illegal Aliens is due out on March 13th.

What if the BBC had the wrong story? What if Doctor Who had family? For fifty years, it is Doctor How who has held the line against the forces of darkness and stupidity. Illegal aliens try to hack How’s Spectrel (TARDIS is a very rude word where he comes from), just as he suspects his estranged cousin Where has been compromised. When reports come in of mysterious attacks by alien creatures, Doctor How has to rely on his new assistant Kevin, a petty criminal from south London, and Trinity, a morphing super-predator, as he counters this threat to humanity’s existence. His efforts are hampered by bungling agents from MI16, desperate to capture the Time Keepers’ technology. Can Doctor How keep ahead of MI16, save Where and combat the alien threat? Doctor How and the Illegal Aliens is the first in the five-volume series.About the AuthorMark Speed has been writing novels since he was fifteen. His comedy writing has appeared in newspapers as diverse as the London Evening Standard and The Sun, and been broadcast on BBC Radio 4 Extra. He performed his solo comedy, The End of the World Show, at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2011 and 2012. He is currently working on the five-volume Doctor How sci-fi parody. Amongst other postgraduate and professional qualifications, he has a Master’s degree in Creative Writing from City University, London. In 1995 a chiropractor told him he’d never run again. Sensibly he chose to give up chiropractors, and has completed several marathons and a couple of Olympic-length triathlons. NLP founder Dr Richard Bandler called him a ‘polarity responder’.

Something ate the Rindan consul and her husband alive. And now it’s eating humans. The extraterrestrial diplomatic community blames Doctor How’s negligence. He and his assistants try to deal with the alien threat quietly, but events spiral out of control when the MI6 headquarters and US embassy come under attack. Meantime, Doctor How’s cousin When has neglected to tell him about a far greater danger, which threatens to destroy the power of the Time Keepers. Doctor How, his assistant Kevin, and morphing alien superpredator Trinity must exterminate the vermin and find out who's behind the plot to neutralise the power of the Time Keepers. Can they do it whilst keeping one step ahead of MI6, the Metropolitan Police and a crack unit of US Navy SEALs?About the AuthorMark Speed finished writing his first novel at the age of fifteen.
